VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Emi - New Beginning [Christmas Special] [CellStudios]

Short, sweet, and way more fun than I expected. This kinetic novel only runs about 30 minutes and takes up 500MB, but it really makes those minutes count. It’s loaded with those classic AVN moments—like the changing room bikini scene (naturally, she picks the tiniest one) and the always-chaotic truth or dare setup. Honestly, it hits all the right tropes in the best way.


For a short game, the quality is seriously impressive. Emi’s model is gorgeous, the 4K renders are super crisp, and the animations are smooth as hell. You can tell the dev put real effort into polishing every scene. Plus, there are a few choices that add a nice bit of spice, which is always a win.


Even with the short runtime, the story isn’t just filler. There’s enough plot to get you interested and a couple of character intros that feel like a sneak peek at what’s coming next. As a demo or teaser, it totally works—and now I’m curious to see what a longer version from this dev could look like.


All in all, it’s a fun little bite. If this is just the start, I’m definitely sticking around for what’s next. Here's hoping the next one goes a bit longer .

Visuals
Excellent render quality. Nothing is grainy, lighting is excellent and does not look artificial.

My only critique would be that there should be more renders; it’s nice to see varying perspectives and angles during dialog, but there’s a missed opportunity to further lure the player in with these since the majority of scenes with dialog exchanges find us looking at the same 1-2 renders.

It would be nice if characters’ mouths moved to indicate speaking. We commonly see this in the form of a default mouth closed, and then opening when we know they’re speaking, then it returns to being closed. Something like that would really benefit the game.

Animations are present, if a bit unpolished.


Characters
Emi’s character model is incredibly detailed, sharp, and beautiful. Dev did a fantastic job taking care to make her very lifelike. I love that right away we see she’s busty and her chosen outfit allows us to see the realism in her cleavage.


Story/Dialog
Good, straightforward narrative style. Characters talk to each other in relatable ways, in mostly realistic ways. There are occasionally diversions from using colloquial terms, but it’s not such a glaring issue that it’s distracting.



Other
I appreciate the ability to define MC’s relationship with Emi, as well as both names. Unfortunately, if you change Emi’s name, it doesn’t update across the board as it should. If dev doesn’t fix this and note it in the changelog, it’s going to be best to leave her default name.

There’s music, always a welcome addition for the added immersion. It’s also not bad; it feels like it’s been carefully chosen to suit a given scene.

Its an adorable VN with you(25 yr old working man) reconnecting with your childhood friend/sister. To be frank the game feels more at home with the childhood friend premise rather than a sibling.

Nothing much else to say. Entire plot is the blossoming relationship(or rather rediscovering past hidden feelings) between you and her. Also it being short and sweet is a boon in my opinion. Often times slice of life romance VN tend to overextend their welcome.

Renders and models are quite good and high rez. Lewd scene is fine, average choreography and length, pretty vanilla stuff.

I'd welcome a sequel though dev might want to be cautious and rethink on how to make the slice of life aspect entertaining and fresh each chapter. I mean how much excitement can an average daily life realistically get, right?

Dev has a steam bundle with his other games, i bought it as its priced reasonably if you're keen on supporting.

Review of final version + Christmas Special

Very short but sweet little AVN. Just a little story about a brother and sister accepting their dormant feelings for each other and falling in love. Very good renders, good writing, and heartwarming (if short) romance. The sex is good but short. Thankfully the Christmas Special makes up for this with a lot more sex (inc. pregnancy <3), so definitely play this immediately after the you've finished the main game, as it follows along from it (albeit in a non-canon way, though "canon" isn't exactly important for a game as short as this). None of the choices have lasting impact so don't about them, though in the Christmas Special you can choose to skip sex scenes by choosing the obvious dialogue choice.

Very short VN, played in about 30 mins to an hour?

Cute premise, and natural feeling dialogue. The story has a pleasant slice-of-life feeling to it, and doesn't take itself too seriously. Renders look very good too.

Honestly, for a short VN it was a pleasant experience. Only reason I give this game a 4 instead of 5 (perfect score) is due to its surprisingly short length. Otherwise it's a very nice VN to go through.

I think the short length also makes it worth checking out, since it doesn't take much time to enjoy and run through and complete.

Surprisingly enjoyable & short, like a quickie.

With not much room for story, we can appreciate the comedic inclusion of the most used scenes in AVN history i.e. Change room bikini scene with protagonist choosing the bikini with least fabric, and the truth or dare game that always seems to spiral into depravity. Recipe for success I'd say.

Hope to see more work from you/team, all the best for your next projects. I'll definitely welcome something longer for sure (that's what she said), but who can say no to a quickie.

I liked this game, it was okay. The models and animations are good. The story is also okay, even if too short.

The main issue with this is the length of the game. It does not feel like a "completed" game . It ends with a clifhanger that does not make much sense. I would have also liked there to be more incestuos talk between them and pregnancy.

Still, overall a solid game.

This was a very good short game. I really like Emi's model. The animations were not very good, however.

My main complaint is that in order to see everything you need to do some pretty obtuse decision combinations. Without the Steam achievements (and a guide) I never would have even found them all.

Also, while it seems as though MC and Emi being siblings is the intended relationship, I'm not getting those vibes at all. I'm trying not to overthink it though.

Anyway, definitely worth playing and looking forward to the dev's other works and how they fit together.

Very strong 4-star for me. Great renders and character design. Easy and realistic dialogue. Nice little choices with the bikinis and typical drinking games.

The game is very short however, and that cliffhanger in the end makes no sense since it doesn't lead anywhere? I feel like it's a missed opportunity to offer the player a chance to choose MCs profession and "life update" which doesn't really lead anywhere either. I get it's probably do give a little flavor, but it's still too simple.

I fully expected the game to at least play out during the entire week that MC is off work, as stated by Emi. I feel like that could have been good enough length, even though I personally prefer a little build-up.

However, for what it is: easy 4 stars. Had the above been addressed I think it fully deserve 5 stars.

I like the game. Amazing character designs. Sweet little story with no useless parts. No grinding for points.

But it's not great.
- The game is too short and I'm not talking about the playtime (around 30 minutes). The story starts at day one and is finished at day two. The relationship evolves too quickly and I like a good build up that leads to sex.
- The characters relationship is weird. The story is built around childhood friends but they are 4 years apart. Who would play with a 7 years old when they are 11? Sometimes, sure, but BFF? No.
The relationship are customizable so you can have the story you like but the story is too quick for brother/sister (you don't feel the taboo if you chose that) so the relationship that made the most sense are cousins. The age difference is fine for that relationship and the speed sex arrives can be understood.
- Also, why put a cliffhanger on a 30 minutes game? Just make a longer game if you want to continue.

All in all, a fun game to play if you have 30 minutes of free time but it won't become a classic.

So the game was really short. It's only 500 MB in size and has around half an hour of content. But that content is really well made. 10/10. It's a kinetic novel, with most of the scenes being at the end of the game. There are a few choices that lead to an anal scene. The model of Emi is absolutely amazing. The 4K renders are a godsend and the animations are pretty crisp as well. This game serves as a great demo for the dev's next game. I hope he continues this level of quality and effort for the game. The game also had a really nice plot for the 30 minutes it was set it. I enjoyed the story telling and the minor introduction of the characters for the next game. 10/10 game.

This is short novel. It lacks an original idea. The good point is that the graphics and the renders look fine. The story is not really good and it is predictable. The gameplay is quite fine. There are just few decent scenes.

Alright since the game is asking about wheter i would like to see more of Emi or not the answer is YES.

Story is simple with no complications. No third party characters, just two characters. Emi character model is super good. If you have spare time i do recommend this game for you to try it out. The game is short however so that explains why the story revolves aroud two characters ( MC and Emi).

Emi falls somewhere in the middle. First off, it's a rather believable story even if it goes a bit too quick. But, it's a story in which you don't get much to say, it advances more or less in the same way despite what you may choose when you can, so decisions are uninpactful. Also, it's very short, and it ends in a strange sort of a cliffhanger to which there hasn't been much build-up, thus giving a sense of being hurried to be finished.

Render quality is quite good, animations are a bit more basic. Music ends up being very repetitive, but it more or less works. And I didn't find any bugs while playing it.

So, all in all, pretty decent for a quick experience and then moving on to the next thing.

One of the HOT games I have played. No bullshit ingame economics. Stright kinetic novel. I played first 30 mins treating her as sis. Din't make much sense. Made her as mum. It fitted into the story. Good Graphics and Animations and good story. Overall 10/10

I didn't bother reading the dialogue. I just went through the game at a fast pace, and I appreciated the renders. Emi is really good looking. It was a lot of pleasure talking to her, hanging out with her, and doing other things with her. The game's main flaw is that it is very short. It feels like a game that had eight or more chapters but they only released one chapter and called it completed. There were choices, but I don't know if they impacted the game any. I wish that someone would have made a walkthrough mod for it. Overall, I'm just really impressed with the art and I wouldn't mind playing the game again in the future to get some good eye candy. I will probably uninstall it though and just redownload it if I want a quick peek. But again, the flaw is that there isn't much to the game. Girl shows up. You talk and drink. You go to the beach. You talk and drink some more. You get laid. The end. One other thing, you can define your relationship status with her but I don't think you can actually rename Emi to something else. Maybe I made a mistake and wasn't paying attention. If you can't, I suppose you can install the Universal Ren'Py Mod, but it would have been nice to rename her to something else. Also, I feel like this game hints at incest, where you can make her a relative. But she's the MC's age, so the most she would be is a sister and her and the MC don't look like they are related at all.

There isn't much to this. No meaningful choices, no story, no tension, nothing. It looks pretty and has nothing under the hood. There aren't enough choices (nor do they have much of an impact) for it to be considered a game, but there isn't really a story here so it can't be considered a kinetic novel.
At that point it's little more than a collection of admittedly good-looking renders. It's short but still didn't feel like it was worth the time.

This was a short game so what? It tells a short story and that's okay as well. I enjoyed the VN as the renders were very high quality and even though it's a short story where the options don't matter much, it's still a great effort so there's that.

Mental Gymnastics: The Game (or is it?)

Emi, a 21 year old college student goes through a transformation with a help from the friendly campus bicycle, blossoming from a shy, mousy girl to a bona fide man eater. She might have a turboslut for a mentor, a pornstar body or no issues wearing dental floss to the beach, but don't let that fool you - this cat is a kissless virgin. Just trust me bro.

Ridiculous premise, no character development, no story to speak of. The game fails at being anything other than a render slideshow, which to it's credit, is of nice quality.
