if you shove people advertisement every 5 seconds
people would think this is some kind of mobile porn game ads popup when you forgot to turn on adblock
it immediately devalue your work

Funny part is, there is fuckin zero shot THIS project would be making the $2,500 a month it's making on patreon if they didn't paywall features. People bitch and moan and review bomb, but apparently that shit actually works.

You are wrong about this one... it may increese a bit but not mutch... similar games earn this mutch regardless.
This game is about 60-70% of its true potential so about $3500-4000 can be earned and lost 1000-1500 on low general popularity.
There are more effective:devilish: methodes... without popularity loss:sneaky:
Ps: an average good game can net +$10000 a month without tricks...

I'd wager without paywalling, this project would be earning betwen $400-800 a month depending on the length of development. The only games on this site getting 10k plus are the extremely popular crop made with the broadest appeal, comprised almost entirely of games with 3d models or renders. And every single one of them has paywalled content. Only exception I can think of off the top of my head is CoC, which may as well have been around since the stone age. Wait, scratch that it has "backer builds" lmao. If actual exceptions exist, there can't be more than a handful. I'm totally open to being proven wrong if you have any examples, but even famous, longtime free projects like DoL are making less than 5k a month. Laughably far from any "average good game" with no paywalling earning 10k a month. What a joke.

Popularity really doesn't mean dick if it's popularity amongst people who don't pay. At best you attract a few more non-parasites, but I'm just saying, the correlation between aggressive paywalling and financial success is pretty fucking apparent. You wanna actually make 10k a month just slap together some premade Unreal 5 assets, promise the impossible, then paywall your shitty canned sex animations.

Oh i think you misunderstanding things that $800 only true if you do not give out proper incentives.
For me a good game has high ceiling... means working fine interesting content no placeholders monthly update.
Most do with content delay/in game cheat way and no it is not paywall. (Even coc2/tits do this)
The general problem with this dev is that he/she is really bad at making content(artist original)... so they can not make use of the content delay way.
Ps:A lot of good game hide how many it makes in fear of backlash

There are games that have been floundering for years but still earn a lot. It correlates much more strongly with their ability to hype up suckers with impossible promises, appeal to the largest demographic, and coax people into opening their wallets by paywalling content. Once you've built that initial audience, you only need to release just barely enough for people to forget to unsubscribe.

I dont understand why everyone talks about paywalling if v6.7.0 Patreon is currently free for everyone :unsure: It's almost the same as v6.7.1, just with totally different card balance and some smaller adjustments.

Idk, Just what you expect me to do? I can't treat my patrons the same way as free to play players. Project lives because of patrons, so everything I do I release early for patrons. I think that's quite reasonable for a beginner developer like myself.
And eventually I upload patreon version in public, usually the "stable" ones. With the features available for patrons, like Avatar sidebar and character creation.
The only thing I don't do in public is obvious porn (uncensored version). But I'm working on it, just want to stay legal, so checking if I'm allowed to do so.

Even though, patreon version of christmass v6.7.0 update was released straight into pablic, without early release on patreon.

So should I stop uploading public versions (with the banners) and upload only paatreon versions every 3-6 months? I don't think so. It's too long for websites without recommendation system, where your game gets some attention only first 2-3 days after update. So I want to do regular updates and leave something for patrons at the same time. So public version is the best choice from my pov. I still upload full versions every 3-6 months, and between that I upload smaller public updates. And if you don't like playing public version - just wait till new patreon version comes up.

About banners. I added banners just to show what to expect from patreon version. In the game you can put off right sidebar and play without any problems. And banner in the lobby stays in the lobby, so you don't see it often.

The constant badgering to get paetron instantly turns me off this game, its just a constant reminder of all the features you just don't get I understand wanting to make money but this is absurd.

You have 2 good options for your circumstance:
1. At the start you show of what you want with timer then go on with the game.
2. During game you run a loong timer so when it runs out you reach interested ppl with the difference between free and patreon.

The main problem is with you 'fuck up' and redo your own game 3-8 times a major release... so they can be considered entire new game... so waiting with half broken half neutered game for months and find it invalid in the end... a lot of ppl will complain or simply say "Fxxk you"
Ppl love stability (even radicals)
So my advice to you is to finish what you started.:geek:

Do not wait cause you will miss out the game itself.... the game changes fast and always half assed no mater the time you wait.

THIS GAME HAVE POTENTIAL, JUST ERASE YOUR PATREON OF EXISTENCE BECUASE YOUR PATREON AND PAYWALLS ARE FUCKING THE ENTIRE GAME, PORN GAMES HAVE TO BE MADE WITH HEART AND FETISHES, NOT MONEY AND WHITE CENSORS
