No text when run on Linux and my usual porting method ain't working. Looks like I'll have to debug this myself... AGAIN!
Edit: Seems I deleted one too many files. Restoring them restored the game's functionality.

It seems interesting to me how the EP entity thing seems way more active this time. It seems to have learned from the previous games and is actively trying to lead into the lewdness.

still pretty buggy. i died the boss room, and after the animation the sprite of the heroine disapeared completly both from the city and also the dungeon, only after sleeping i was able to make her sprite respawn again. Also the defeat animation from losing to the boss is missing, and if you see the animations on the gallery you can no longer open the menu.
yeah.. very early, very rough... but based on what I seen/played so far, I like where this is going..
I'll probably wait for the finished product instead of breathlessly downloading every update though. Hero Youth was a bit of a letdown for me (still good, but to me had wasted potential and wasn't as good as Battle Girl).
I did just finish replaying EPHY a little bit ago. I think content wise it's better than the last one but it's paced a lot worse. Instead of having progressive corruption he just put a little heart of depravity event toggle at the points in the dungeon where he think it would make sense. And being able to see all of the overworld scenes all at once is a bit of a letdown. Bringing back the "pay EP to unlock scene" thing from the first game makes sense from an economy perspective I guess.
Wasted potential is a good way to put it. I'd have made the game different. The magic school theme was a cool idea, but it deserved a bit more focus, and it falters just before the finish line. If there was like a 1.1 version of this game with like two months of extra work put into it to complete the cut content, I probably wouldn't have had these complaints. Can't blame him for being fed up working on the thing for a year and a half though.

Yeah, corruption is specifically my jam, and if Hero Youth leaned into it more instead of nudging away from it, combined with the overall theme, I would have been SO much happier.
For example, what -I- would have done:
Instead of boy mode/girl mode just being a straight hard mode/easy mode toggle, I would have made playing as the girl have -consequences-, such as corrupting the school/town/sister faster... and different endings based on total corruption.
I guess in a sense that's what he did, but it could have been a bit more.. eloquent, I guess.

ep hero was my first game of the series. I just played the other games after. I can undesrtand why people prefer ep battle girl, but for me i still prefer ep hero since i think the fetishes and the animation was better. Im also the opinion he could have worked on the corruption and ero traps of the shota as well and not just the girl form but oh well.
