You can view any of the hidden effects from the debug menu that is accessible from the main menu of the game.
Click the Debug Views -> Data Editor on the top left of the main menu. I'm unsure if this is visible on the Demo version or not.
Of course, take great care not to edit something out of a mistake here.
From there, for Bad Luck Charm, you can navigate as Scripts (top row of tabs) -> Scriptablescript (second row of tabs).
Scroll down a bit until you find the bad_luck script which will list what the hidden effects are exactly.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Aha, found it, thank you ! Looks like this is about the only important hidden thing right, apart from hair colors and such ?

Also, as this one affects the hit chance, I haven't found a way to see the hit chance when attacking (or the crit chance for that matter), any insights in that ?

Any edits you make won't get saved, so don't worry about that.

Also, I think the Bad Luck Charm and the Ring of Idealism, are the only items with hidden effects.

Hit and Crit chance are shown in the bottom left, assuming they aren't 0% or 100% respectively 1767187607534.png
Though the hit modifier of Bad Luck Charm is of course hidden

Thanks ! Can someone also shed a light on why this is not working on Vian ?

I have made her a Pet and equipped Alluring Lipstick and Cat Collar.

The expectation is : Alluring Lipstick -> Taunt at battle start, Cat Collar -> Turn Taunt into Stealth at turn start, which will then trigger Rampage Phantom when it is removed.

However Stealth is very rarely applied. Maybe because of some other mechanic which removes the Taunts first before the Cat Collar triggers ? E.g. Dodge Chance add from Feline Tights or Morale Boost from Yu ? As those are the only other buffs I see.

Made 2 quick mods to make the grind a little easier for those interested...

Level Goal Unpause - Removes personal goals from being paused for over-leveled adventurers so you can now progress adventurer personal goals irrespective of the dungeon difficulty (PS. There is 1 visual bug for this and that is that all dungeons will now say that your adventurers are below the recommended level, except for Elites, when on the Roster screen before embarking)

Custom Rules Unlock - Removes the destiny cost for all custom rules so you can now enable all of them without grinding the vanilla game for it

How do you make actual progress in this game? Every time I get a character to adept, she gets kidnapped. By the time the rescue mission is novice, so my novices can rescue her, I lose one or two of the novices in the rescue. Meanwhile, by the time I get the rescued girl back, the game has flipped her class, I can't even remember what class she was adept at, and I can't tell either as it lists her as novice on the class switch screen.

One big thing to know is that you can retreat almost any time, even during combat, without losing anything - you just don't get the bonus reward from clearing the dungeon. The only time you cannot retreat is when it's an enemies turn.
Keeping that in mind should drop the number of kidnappings a lot. I tend to retreat anytime one of my characters reaches 0hp, so the only time they can get kidnapped is when two or more enemies are acting consecutively.
Also for rescue missions, you only need to find the cell of your kidnapped character, free them and then you can immediately escape by retreating. If the dungeon layout allows it, you won't even need to enter combat once.

Another thing that helped me a lot starting out is to focus on upgrading the stage coach - that allows you to retruit adventurers with higher average stats. Stats are far more important than leveling a character, as levels mostly increase your possible moves, while stats make your moves stronger and allow you to resist attacks better.

Great advice, thanks. My main problem is mindset, I'm so used to tanking everything that I don't want to leave any enemies alive when I complete a dungeon. A couple of the kidnappings actually happened after I completed the main objectives while I was finishing enemies that I had missed. Self-inflicted, I know, but good to know that is a legit strategy to advance.

To expand on the previous posts, an important aspect of the game is knowledge.
Understanding what the enemies can do and roughly how much more beating your girls can take is key to making solid judgement on when to retreat and when to push forward. This includes curios as just clicking on any option is bound to result in something bad. The game actually rewards exploration, but only if one does it with a very careful mindset.
My advice is to first establish a single core team of 4 girls with complementary classes. You get two good characters at the start of the game (unless you're using any modifiers), a cleric and a warrior, so now you only need two damage dealers, such as a mage and a rogue. Aim for the two frontline damage skills with both (usable on the first two position).
Protect your core group at all costs until you get atleast one additional strong group. Prioritize missions which will raise their levels and look for strong early game items: Decaying Watch and Mark of Change.
The first one increases the damage of a girl massively with no catch but only if you're still on the first 80 in-game days, as it will become only paperweight after that.
The second one is ridiculously important. Get one as soon as possible! It will randomize all stats of a girl at the start of every combat while it is equipped.
So:
1, Equip Mark of Change
2, Enter combat with that girl until you have good stats (atleast one 19+ and Constitution not below 10). For a mage, randomize until her Intelligence is a 20, other stats don't matter as much if you protect her.
3, Unequip Mark of Change
4, Give it to another girl
Repeat until you have a team of exceptional stats.

At some point the first post only linked to a demo, yes. And later on someone else probably offered their version, which the uploaders of this site then used to update the first post. This is a pirate site, after all.

Just try it, download the game from itch.io and from here and compare it. IIRC the demo states the limited content quite prominently on the overworld map. That limitation is not present in the version linked in the OP.
I'll take it from you then. I'll dl it again and play it. If I remember I will confirm in a later message.
