VN - Ren'Py - Eruption Imminent [v0.4.0] [MorriganRae]

Undoubtedly one of the best games around here, beautiful looking characters, excellent writing, with a slow burn but a steady progression.
And it includes some beautiful looking futa / trans women and a couple of hairy bushes, the MC is really loveable and cute, I really love her mix of innocence and perversion. I really hope this game keeps going.

I finished episode 3, even started a new game to refresh my memory of the story, and installed the incest patch, which fixed a lot of things with my understanding of the plot. This is awesome, I enjoyed it even just reading the text, following the plot. admiring the renders and listening to wonderful music . The game does a great job of balancing drama, comedy and porn. The characters are simply amazing. My favorites are Ashe, she is cute and beautiful and evokes strong sympathy and empathy; Fiona, she is cool, confident, fun and goes well with Ashe; Natasha, because I like muscular, brutal women/futa, and Vanessa, because she pleasantly surprised, she's supposed to be a typical rich bitch, but in reality she seems to be a good person who is under a lot of pressure, and even so, she doesn't take her anger out on others, and she treated Ashe well. I hope to see more sex scenes with these three (Fiona, Natasha, Vanessa) in the future, at least in dreams (not necessarily between them).
And I would like to mention one of my favorite moments when Ashe yelled at Bella, with this sudden dynamic music, it was cool.
I wish the developer good luck and look forward to the new episode.

Honestly such a great game. I ddid not expect to like the story this much. I'm super excited for more. In my opinion this was perfect pacing, the models were absolutely gorgeous and with high quality rendering. Perhaps the best futanari game I've played so far

One of the best story driven games I've played in a long time. Definitely a very very slow burn, but the visuals are great and the story is extremely well written. The relationships between the characters feel real, and the scenarios are mostly plausible.

That was a great. Great story with great characters. Really fun and emotional in all the right ways. Ashe is one of the most adorable characters ever. There isnt a single girl im not looking forward to their story and/or sex scenes, which i cant think of a game ive played where i havent been meh about at least one of the characters.

The writing in this game is easily some of the best out of any avn.

The dev knows how to approach taboo subjects (like Ashe's constant depraved fantasies lol) in a way that makes them actually FEEL exciting and taboo. This is a skill that 95% of avn devs lack.

Fuck, this game actually got me to like futa stuff even tho I have never really been that into it.

On top of this, the renders are fantastic, there is plenty of content and the characters are great.

There are not a ton of choices, which is something I prefer, but with a preset character like Ashe it feels a lot more natural. There are some things we can influence, but her personality is mainly her own. So while I would like maybe a few more choices, I don't think the current amt detracts from the game at all.

Super excited to see more.

This is one of the best VN I've played on here.
-Character models are fantastic, especially the MC and her closer friends. The personalities are fleshed out too without being overly wordy and the setting forces different spins on archetypes.
-As someone who loves dystopia/alt history, the concept for this is genius. Sure, it's not explored in-depth, but it's a novel way to get rid of all the gross guys, while allowing creativity with how the world works.
-I love the wordless scenes which manage to convey the action or feeling without needing to write lengthy prose.
-The game is quite linear, which may annoy some people. However I think this leads to a more defined MC and better character flow, while giving just enough flex to skip content as you want and have some control over the MC's direction (a variable called "domme" came into play late in v.3). And while Mass Effect did it brilliantly, I'd prefer that indie devs forgo the branching plot with twenty different endings if it means a tighter story and timeline. I do recommend using something like URM to see all the scenes as you go though.
-While it's more slice of life so far than a more motivated hero's journey, I found each scene compelling enough on its own that I didn't get bored. The trick will be to keep this up without becoming repetitive if the stakes aren't raised. It is slow burn sex-wise so far, but as yet it feels character-driven rather than contrived slowness.
-The prose is nearly flawless, dialogue natural and I only found one grammatical error.
-My biggest worry is that a lot of auxiliary characters have been introduced and this story would work best keeping the LIs at a manageable number. So far it's fine but I've seen hubris derail stories which start solidly before.

In short, even if you usually avoid futa (it's not my usual thing) I recommend at least a play through of the first episode.

[v0.3.0] In a world of only woman and futa, you play as a twin you is burdened with the incredible sex drive of a being that possesses both a cock and vagina. The stigma this creates, combined with the pressures of your own taboo feelings, has resulted in you living a subdued life. You're still a virgin. But that's all about to change.

The visuals of this game are fantastic. Models are beautifully detailed and the women look attractive. There are various body types: thin, thick, muscular, tall, short, etc. Not to mention woman with and without cocks of various sizes, small and huge. Not everything is to my taste, such as a mother character with too much hair for my liking, but outside this particular example all the women featured are stunning in their own ways.

All the characters are varied as well. Some of them fit into typical stereotypes, others are more complex. The writing does a good job of fleshing out these characters and providing opportunities to explore them. The MC herself comes off as more passive, or rather submissive, than other characters around her. This is something that fits where she is in life and could surely change as she gets more 'experience'.

The game has a strong emphasis on story, especially in the early chapters where there is less sex. It's in no hurry to rush to sex scenes and early on relies heavily on dreams and the MC's fantasies to show sexual interactions. I don't really enjoy content that is only happening in a character's head, but it makes the wait for actual sex scenes better.

The themes of this game can be pretty dark. It covers death, addiction, and makes the MC feel powerless in a lot of situations. The story leaves me wanting to know the answers and invests me in watching the MC develop into a more confident character.

This is a great game with great quality and design. I love the subject matter and the 'no men' world the author has created.

But most importantly, it features a hot futa MC that shoves her big cock into her own mouth. That alone is worth 5 stars!

It is genuinely shocking (and honestly pretty ironic) that one of the most well-written stories on f95 involves the topic of futas, generally one of the most poorly written genres on the site. All praise goes to MorriganRae, who certainly deserves more attention than they're currently getting.

If you are at all interested in futanari or lesbian AVNs, I don't think you'll find many (if any) better than this. I HIGHLY recommend supporting MorriganRae on their Patreon to continue their work on this game and encourage this level of quality output on here and in the AVN space in general, if you are able.

Writing:
Initially, I wasn't particularly interested in the project, largely due to the aforementioned focus on futanari and the general poor quality it brings. To be fair, "girl with a penis" isn't really the type of concept that instills or invites nuance. The most I've really seen is a single futanari having more depth in a field of other women, or an already well-written girl where the player is given an option of her genitalia. However in Eruption Imminent, there are no men. There's only girls and futanari. In this way, MorriganRae has actually given themselves the ability to expand beyond the expected, because it's not forced to be in real-world genders. Despite that, they chose to actually make the main character hermaphroditic (or, in this story, a "duplo futanari"), meaning they can still write the expected "outcast futa" character, but in their own terms, which is quite smart.

This trend of reflection without imitation is seen throughout the story. The character of Cleo is the archetype of a male jock, Fiona is the archetype of a male punk, Ashe is quite similar to many of the "lonely pervs with a heart of gold" archetypes on here. But because they're not stuck in the same box, there's at least something unique, something new, that makes them stand out.

Despite how good the writing is, I don't think this game would be a 5 star AVN without the concept. I certainly think the writer could make a 5 star AVN with the majority or entirety of the cast being male/female alone, but for this story in particular, it works best with this female/futanari world. For example, if Ashe was a male, her abundant shyness wouldn't be nearly as acceptable as an MC. Her constant horniness paired with her adamant refusal to do anything about it would be irritating.

I'd also argue that the fact the story is so linear and the choices so sparse would also be seen more negatively. In the story you have 22 choices to make. I'd say 95% of them have little to no conceivable impact on the story. I appreciate that it seems like every choice is remembered, but it means that it feels like I'm playing a largely kinetic novel, which (while I dislike personally) lends itself to being able to separate yourself more from who you're playing.

Something that feels kinda frustrating is just how slow the story is. I fully appreciate the building of tension displayed in Eruption Imminent, there's maybe a handful of AVNs on here that I think measure up, however with the amount of characters present, sometimes it feels like I'm watching a turtle race. Although, there's a difference between something being slow and you wanting to quickly see more, and something where you want to cut out the middle to get to the good stuff. I'd say E.I. leans more to the former. There are some scenes that feel repetitive, but that's because most of them are emphasizing character traits or trying to create a slow build up into being more sexual.

The issue is that you're playing an MC that, as previously mentioned, is largely submissive, and as a result it generally feels like our choices don't matter. You couple this with the face Ashe has no REAL goal throughout all 3 chapters, and you will often find yourself just watching Ashe repeat the same feelings and thoughts ad nauseam, and so when you see an opportunity for her to change her situation or stand up for herself and you just have to sit there, there's an inherent frustration in that. I'd appreciate it if, eventually, you were able to decide whether Ashe becomes more dominant than submissive. At the moment she's almost entirely submissive, with the instances she stands up for herself being out of frustration rather than a decisive choice. There's a difference between choosing not to cower, and actually doing something, and right now the majority of her reactions to things are just to be a deer in headlights, to essentially be as much of a passenger to the things around her that we are. Almost every other character seems to have more initiative than we are able to have.

Visuals:
This section will be pretty short, cause there is basically zero wrong with the visuals in this game. They're fantastic. Each character is immediately identifiable and look fantastic, despite the ridiculous proportions of some (basically all the futanari). Lighting and posing are all natural, small changes are made between dialogue, it's great.

The only possible complaint I could see anyone having, is that the older women don't look AS different. Obviously though, everyone in the AVN is beautiful, so it's not surprising.

Great story, and what a great game! The art is super engaging, the situations are very erotic and the overall story keeps you interested all the way through. I hope the game keeps the same quality going forward and also hopefully there will be lots of anal sex scenes. An excellent game overall.

You should know going in that the drama in this game is... real. Maybe a little too real. This game will turn you on. It will also make you feel visceral hate for its villains, gnaw your nails in suspense, and break your heart at least twice. All its characters and relationships are vivid and real. It never falls back on cliches or porn logic.

The author has crafted maybe the most attractive protagonist on this site, and renders them with exquisite posing, framing, and lighting. There are endless close ups of her staring moodily into the middle distance as she roils internally, and every shot is perfect, unique, and utterly compelling. You'll fall in love.

This gem came out of nowhere for me. I just happened to look at the updates page one day and saw it, got curious and decided to try it. Which is quite surprising as futa games are not my usual type.

First off, the renders are gorgeous in this game. The dev really has done fantastic work on them. They greatly add atmosphere to the overall vibe which is partly what held my interest so much. I love great visuals and this did not disappoint.

Ashe in particular is stunning. I love her model and in every shot she just looks gorgeous. She is also very feminine looking and to be honest, her screenies were what drew me to the game. It's nice having an original pretty female who is not the usual recycled models from many games.

The story is really fun and equally in parts, funny too. It's like a coming of age type drama thingymabobby with an insecure Ashe dealing with her crazed sex drive and those things that seemed so lifechanging in our teens like first kiss and the first time we lost our cherry. Ashe also has a forbidden love thing going on which adds to the drama stuff. Being a futa duplo (has both M/F genitalia) means they have a huge sex drive resulting in everyone and anyone can literally get our girl hot and bothered.

Characters have their own distinct personality which is always a big plus.
Fiona the bestie has a fun sense of humor and obviously cares about Ashe deeply. She is a futa too and can be a possible LI in the game. I kept her just as friends as I prefer the females to futas for love interests. I would probably have my Ashe go for the rich bitch Vanessa and hope she has a softer center for Ashe to expose. I also liked Fiona's younger sister who is obssessed with Ashe. She is really sweet.

I didn't find the big bodybuilder type characters with horse dicks attractive. I always prefer the female body as we have in all honesty, the more visually appealing appearance - well, for me anyway.

The only reason I don't give 5 stars for this AVN is purely the lack of choice so far. There are very few choices you can make regarding Ashe's love interests or reacting to situations. At the moment it's hard to tell who she can actually focus on. I would like Vanessa or Deliliah as options if possible, but that is down to the dev and their vision which I respect. I do think more choices will increase the games longevity/replay value and help propel this great AVN higher yet.

The dev is off to a great start so far and has caught quite a few eyes with this gem. They certainly got my interest and even though futa is not my norm in these games, Ashe is still very feminine for players who normally play female protags like myself.

Great visual presentation. Really good writing with well-written dialogue and interesting characters. Plenty of raunchy erotic and explicit sex scenes while keeping the writing and dialogue at the forefront as all good adult visual novels should that aren't just plain full-blown porn. And of course romance and drama, having some of the most entertaining and both tense and funny moments I read in VN's in a while.

Overall I was positively impressed playing this and liked it much more than I expected, definitely recommend it if you enjoy well-written adult VN's.

One of the Greatest games to ever land on F95. The story is written neatly enough but at the same time doesn't fall prey to neither too little sexual content and too much story nor having too much sex to make everyone a whore. The build up is perfect especially for Fiona x Ashe. The renders are great as well.

UPDATE FOR 0.4.0: Holy shit what a game. This is on my top 5, and it's making me reconsider some 5-star ratings for other games. It somehow manages to combine slow-burn with smoldering hotness. The renders are gorgeous, everything about this game is well-executed.

A review below points out that the game casts futas into a defective/ashamed class of people. I think the game plays it for laughs/kinks, but it's a fair point. This seems to be a common way to present the futa concept in porn, and this game leans into it. I think it works and it's hot, but if you interpret futas as real-life trans people (which I don't, for some reason; I see them as fantasy characters who have no real-world equivalent) then I could see how it would be offensive or insensitive. I don't think this game stands out in terms of how it treats its futa characters; lots of games have the futa-in-hiding trope.

Anyway, this is one of the games I look out for on the updates page. On my short list of "great futa games" and just great games overall. If you like futas, this is a must-play imo.

The writing really carries the experience for me. It is told from a first-person perspective. Ashe (the MC) is very sympathetic and MorriganRae manages to make her relatable - A very rare feat for an adult game! Without going into spoilers, there are numerous times Ashe echoes my exact reaction to scenes. Freaky!

The story is a very classic will-they-won't-they relationship drama. Ashe's infatuation with the main love interest comes across as undermotivated to the viewer, but reading between the lines it's suggested Ashe developed an anxious attachment style due to trauma. Heavy themes are explored covertly.

The scenes are composed very aesthetically. For example, Dutch angles are used in scenes to convey dynamism and does so well. The aesthetic quality encourages the player to read the text thoroughly.

Facial expressions are beautifully done and are neither ambiguous nor uncanny. The faces Ashe makes are often quite cute, which is convenient because the player is going to be looking at her a lot. If instead the scenes are exclusively shot from her POV I don't think she'd be as sympathetic.

The music really adds to the atmosphere and paced well in regards to reading speed. Each segment feels appropriately lengthed yet you're done with the scene before it gets repetitive. This was what I felt most impressed by during my first playthrough.

Overall, Eruption Imminent has the most artistic merit of any adult game I've encountered, and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Let me start off by saying I always avoid or ignore futa and lesbian content and rarely play games with a female protagonist. The raving reviews for this game made me think "why the hell not" and give it a shot. The past few hours I have played v0.3 of the game and I immensely enjoyed it.

I really like the MC. I can relate to her and I think she's very beautiful, which helps since you see alot of her. The story is told very well and flows beautifully from scene to scene. It's a real visual novel, not a "porn game". I like a good story and good characters; it draws me in, instead of clicking through the scenes for some pictures and it makes me experience emotions, I care for (some) characters. Those experiences with games I find here are few and far between, but this is definitely one of the gems for me.

Story telling and engagement are the main things I look for, but the graphics are fantastic as well and the musics works nicely in the background (and in some scenes really adds to the experience). We also get the option to make the text box transparent and outline the text, which is a good QoL feature.

For me an easy 5/5 and insta-sub on Subscribestar. It'll feel like a long wait for the next update.

I'm quite surprised at how much I liked what I played.
At first I thought it would have a random deja vu story with futa and lesbian content.

But it's totally not that at all.
The MC has a true personality, and complexes in her fictionous world. World which is at the least very credible so no problem there.

There is not much sex, but the tone of the story and the MC personality justifies it. I'm quite happy to stay for the ride until the end, because it can easily enter my top 10 AVN games.

I've first tried this game at v0.1. And I had high hopes for the future. Futa genre is so underpresented here.
Thought that the lack of sex will be compensated later by mind-blowing futa action. With lots of anal stuff and multiple penetration as implied by tags. (Sad to find that it refers only to the in-game porn movie)
