I don't want to read spoilers so I'm not sure which exactly the controversy is, but from what I gathered, if I understood it right, that's a problem you can avoid if you avoid LIs with a dick.
I don't truck with no sissies, but I was interested in the theme of a world with only futas and women, with the futas being toned down men but I knew I was to stay vigilant to avoid other dicks (like IRL, where I live there are hormoned trans since very early and sometimes you can't be sure at first sight). This is the reason I'm not surprised that if you, in a visual novel, intentionally pursue a sexual relationship with a character you know to have a dick, that dick might or might not be used upon you. So if you aren't having any of it (I know I don't) then stick your dick to full women, which have no dick to shove it to you. As in, I liked Lexi but another dick is a no no for me, no whats and no ifs, real or imaginary world, futas or not, no sabre duels for me.
Ideally you could play any number or paths, with exactly the kind of story you want, like in this case to be only the active part with characters with dicks, but that's extremely taxing for development so if you want to play the game while still in this decade, then you need to accept a few compromises.
