This week I have worked on the NPCs and dialogue in this game.
Also fixed some bugs that was reported in the showcase.

This is the plans for all the dialogue in game.
I have finished the NPC dialogues until level 4 of the game.
I still have about 4 NPCs and dialogues left to make.

Some NPCs will request you to bring items.
And some NPCs will request you to kill enemies or trigger levers.

I tried to make the NPCs as unique as possible.
Some NPCs are a different race like a goblin or a cultist.
Some NPCs have gone crazy due to the harsh dungeon environment.
Some NPCs will stab your back in order to use you.

Also, if you failed to do a quest in the beginning and meet the NPC again deeper in the dungeon,
the dialogue and the interaction will change based on your actions.
This is not too deep as there is currently only 2 NPCs that you can meet again as you play but is still a good detail.


Thoughts
I have about 4 NPC dialogues,
Deviced slaves dialogues,
Monster dialogues,
Master dialogues,
left.

I was planning to end all the dialogues this week, but there was quite a lot of work to go into this.
Like the NPCs animations, NPC unique items, Dialogue, questline code etc etc.

So I am planning to finish all the NPC dialogues this week.
And is planning to finish the Device, Monster, Master dialogues until next week wednesday.
After that I am planning to work on lifecycle animations if I have time left next week.

lifecycle animations will include better and more eating / working / sleeping / kink animations and add functionality for the player to be able to mine ores or interact as a slave.

Dropping features
I have also thought that some features should be dropped in order to make this game release more faster.
- Add Clothing
- Captured Item store feature

Add clothing features.
I thought that the clothing system needs can be mostly replaced with the accesories in the game.
I really do want to have bunny costumes, maid costumes for the game, but I have came to the conclusion that they can always be added as a patch and does not surve as the main gameplay as they are just cosmetics.

Captured Item store feature
This is another feature that I will be dropping. As I was playing the showcase, I thought just putting the items such as weapons and equipments all around the map and making the player looking for them feels much more fluid for gameplay rather than getting back all your items after a escape. This will also force the player to change and use a variety of weapons as they can obtain it. So I am planning to drop this feature.

Oh, and for the showcase, this week I only added some bugfixed.
Next week, I will add the dialogue change patch for deviced slaves and monster / master.

This week, I have mostly worked on the dialogue of
- deviced slaves

I have planned to work on lifecycle animations this week, but the workload was higer than expected.


Better deviced slaves dialogue

Now talking to deviced slaves will pick a random dialogue based on the device the slave is in.
All the slaves not have a random chance to equip a restraint or a accesory. Like a anal bead or a chained ball etc etc...
All the slaves also have a random chance to be have scars in their body.
The player is also scared if they are spanked or whipped.


Enemies

Enemies also have improved dialogue.
You can ask for food, (has a cooldown)
You can also smalltalk and they have a chance to fuck you or talk a unique dialogue. (based on race)
Goblins and Cultists or thugs have different dialogue based on their race.

Master

You can now get quests from your master.
- ask for prostitution (3)
- ask for iron ore (5)

I am also planning to add quests for mushrooms, rats, cochroachs, etc etc...

I have also fixed quite a lot of bugs. but there are still a lot more left on my plate.


Thoughts
The dialogue features will be added in this weeks showcase patch.
I thought the Dialogue system would take a lot less time.
But instead it took a whole week, and I am still not yet done with it. (more master quest)


There is also quite a lot of balance work to do in order to make the gameplay more smooth.
Such as the distance the player is allowed in from the master.
Or how much the master requests per quest.

Either way, there is a lot... lot of work still to be done.
But I am due to this month and that is my current plan.

This week I have finished the quest system for master.
And I have worked on lifecycle animations.



Finished quest system
I have added additional quests that the master will give you based on race.

Cultist
- asks for the book of pain
- asks for bones for the ritual

Goblin
- asks for cockroaches
- asks for rats

Common
- asks for iron ore
- asks for red / blue / yellow mushrooms
- asks for sex
- asks for prostitution

Better lifecycle system, animations
This week I have mostly worked on lifecycle animations

Enemies will add random food in their hand when eating

Previously the work section of the lifecycle was only the enemies mining stuff.
Now there are slaves that work in the dungeon.

Now the monsters will whip the slaves working instead of working themselves.

The player can now also mine ores for quests.
When you ask your master how to serve, they might request for iron ores.
Now you can mine them yourself.

Thoughts
You might wonder what kind of style I am going for.
I want to make this like the underground dungeons of Saruman from Lord of the rings.

Now if you have seen lord of the rings, you might remember this scene.


I know I am not good enough to make even a inch of this style that the movie has,
but I will try my best to have inspiration from it and add uniqueness and personal touch in this game.

But in order to make that effort,
- Hammering steel animations
- shoveling ores animations
- unique dialogue for these worker slaves
- unique dialogue when whipped when working
- more and better environment props and models

I also thought about making race unique lifecycles.
Such as cult meetings for the cult enemy.
But I am not going to make this in the release, as this might be too greedy.

Possibly too much on my plate right now, and it most likely never ends, but this time my strategy was to
make it the best quality possible even if it does take more time.

I won't be too greedy though.
I already got the hammering blacksmith animations,
and I already have the system for unique dialogue for workers.
I just need to write the dialogues myself and implement them in my system.

I will try to end this until tomorrow.
Next week I am planning to work on the base R18 animations.
Basic sex related animations. (non device)

F95 is having issues, as I cannot upload all images for the post.
Maybe f95 servers are having problems, I will try to upload images tomorrow or later.

The animations will be added to the demo and released.
Currently when captured, the master will play a random sex animation if the punishment is not a device.
You can also press "`" and type "cheat punishmentsession" after being captured in order to make the master play a random sex animation.
Also type "cheat heal" if you are low on health.

I am also planning to add cum effects in these animations
But I am not yet done with the cum effects, and will work on it this weekend.

I also added a small little dildo in the punishment room, it was a requested feature and I thought it was a good time to work on it.

I also added a hammering work last week for the lifecycle.

Thoughts

There were quite a lot more animations planned, but I chose to stop and move on with other developments.
All animations are quite high quality as they have breast, bottom, and facial expression animated.
Although they currently do not have "Cum" animation as I am developing that now.

I was also wondering if I will make the master have different kind of sex when the trust level is different.
That was the initial plan, but for the demo I made it so that it plays a random animation regardless of trust level.

Next week, for monday, tuesday I will work on the "Cum" effects.
On wendsday I am going on a trip with my family.
So I don't expect too much work to be done next week.
If I can implement all the "cum" effects in my animations, that is a win for me.

Last week I had a nice vacation and travelled with family.
This week I have worked mostly on the gallery system and the boss system.

Gallery System



You can choose and change the enemy type and device in the gallery.



After choosing a device, you can choose device animations.
If you choose None, you can choose non device animations.

Boss System

The boss system was unfinished in my demo build.
I have added a system that plays the boss animation on death, and after the animation is finished, the player will be teleported to a cell and have a new master.





After the animation is finished, the player will be teleported. (I want that to be a cell)


And if a monster is nearby, the monster will become the new master.
(I am also planning to spawn a monster nearby when teleported)





Thoughts
I am not done yet with the gallery and the boss system, but I am planning to update the demo today or sunday.

I am not yet done with,
- Spawning or making a enemy forcefully become a master after being teleported
- Adding boss animations to the gallery
- Limit the animations for the demo version on the gallery

I have been delaying this game too much.
My previous plan to release was at 10/31.
But the game has been delayed again and again.
I cannot go any further than the end of this month.

This week I have worked on finishing the gallery system and sound design.
I have about 4 big things left to release my game.

I might or might not add equipment buffs, they might only be for asthetics. (anal beads, ball gags etc etc)

I have worked on mostly combat related sound.
Such as footsteps, rolling, damage taking, and spell casts.

All the lifecycle animations also have sound.
Such as eating, sleeping, mining, woodchoping and blacksmithing.

I have also added sound to boss combat.
But I do need grunting sounds and the tentacle monsters sound is not yet finished.

Currently I cannot add video here, and images don't show any sound, so this devlog will be short.
Videos will be uploaded with sound in ci-en and discord, or just play the updated demo if interested.

Thoughts
This week I have worked on mostly non NSFW related sound.
Next week I am planning to work on NSFW reated sound.
The week after that, I am planning to work on the save system and level design.
And the last week I will work on translation and playtesting with some final fixes.

Finally we are very close to launch.

This week I have worked on all the sound of NSFW animations.
I cannot share any pictures for the development as it is all sound XD
But I will share videos in discord and cien so check out if you are interested.

I have done a complete redo of all vocal sounds of the main character.
I think it is way better than my previous game.
I was feeling too kinky while developing myself... XD

I have a bit of work left, as I am done with all NSFW animations but not done with all the game sound effects,
such as
- sound when being caged, deviced
- sound when the player consumes food
- sound when the player is trying to escape restraints
etc etc
So I will be working on that today and tomorrow.

I will be updating the game today or tomorrow.

Next week I will work on the level design.
I am planning to add 5 levels in this game.
And I need to carefully plan and execute while getting inspiration.
Honestly 5 level designs in 1 week is absolutely crazy.
So I am more than willing to spend more time in level design if necessary.
Might as well make a good game, rather than trying to rush it too much.

I have also added a polish stage where I will be playtesting and making final fixes to this game.

This week I have been working mostly on level design.
I did make some changes in the levels as making the rooms of the level smaller.

Level design

Making a map feels like drawing a painting.
Well making a map is planning, but making environments is like drawing.
I am a planning type of guy, so I am not use to this type of workstyle.
But nevertheless, I have put in the work and almost "About 70%" finshed level 1.

I have made the maps and the distances between lifecycles much smaller.
As the showcase demo had too much walking between lifecycles.
But this might be a good and a bad thing as camera could feel much bad when fighting in small rooms.
And walking between could be gameplay itself as you could pick up items as following your master.

Bugs Bugs Bugs
While playtesting (check video), I have found quite a lot of errors, such as
- the enemy corpse moves strangly when the player contacts with the origin of the corpse
- the focus and hit location of the enemy is in the center of the animation

I knew about error 1 but could not find out why this was happening, but I think it should be a ergent error to fix.
For error 2, I can and know how to fix it. But did not have the time.

Little errors like this makes the game experience way worse
even if the game has great content and style...
I can't fix these errors now, as I am more focused on making levels,
but I will try and fix these in the "Polish" state.

Thoughts
I am overall satisfied with the results of level 1,
the aesthetics of the torture room and mining cave is quite good.

Also I won't be able to upload the demo, as level 1 is not finished, and all the other levels will not be included in the demo but is in the full product.
When I am done with level 1, I will add it to the demo.

The map making process is time consuming and slow, but I will get there eventually.

This week is also map design.
I am currently finished with level 1 and 2.
I have finished the structure of level 3 and placed lighting and lifecycles.

I am very satisfied with the boss room of level 1.
I have added slaves in the ceiling to make a very "dark fantasy" feeling. (check video in discord)

Also I have added a much better eating environment.

I also have added much more npcs. Some npcs have static messages and some npcs are important in the story.
Important NPCs have names and give dialogue and quests.

Honestly, the aesthetics is crazy...

Developers thoughts
Looks are great, but the more I play and check out the level, the more bugs I find.
Today I have encountered another bug, where in a punishment session (2P), the animation is not played and suddenly other monsters nearby plays punishment sessions and finally teleports the player into the void.
(I have no idea why this is happening)

I have took a video and wrote down about the error,
But as of yesterday and today, my game is still a buggy mess.
As I did say last week, I will have a polish state, but I am worried that that will take even more time then anticipated.

Even the current pace of level design is 1 level per week.
So strategically I cannot add anything new, I need to keep polishing and polishing this game for what it already is.

Also, I have level 5 worth of NPCs but only 4 level worth of bosses.
So I need 1 more boss. Or I should just cut this game to 4 levels.
Honestly I want to take a bit more time to add the final boss.
But I am still not certain and might be too greedy...
I don't know...

This week is also map design.
I am almost done with map design.
I have finished level 1,2,3 and is finally working on level 4.
I have decided to cut level 5, and end with 4 levels.
I am expecting to finish all maps next week wednesday.

For level 4, I want to make a slight twist in the maps.
My game contains with a "lifecycle" system.
The enemies lives about their normal lives (eat, sleep, work, sex)
But the player would be bored if it was the same "lifecycle" from level 1 to level 4.
So I want to add different lifecycles and devices as much as I can in game.

Level 1 (woodchopping / mining)
Level 2 (blacksmith / mining)
Level 3 (blacksmith / mining)
Level 4 (praying / doing cultist stuff)

The problem is that I need to add new lifecycle mechanics in order to make level 4. (praying, cultist stuff)
But I have decided to add them even if it takes more time then expected.
Level 4 will mostly be a cultist (magician) central map, as there are cultist npcs that you can encounter with.
Sorry, but I can't help myself being a bit more greedy, in order to make the game better.

I have also decided to add the
"Do x in order to pass" feature.
This is a suggestion from "Uf" in ci-en and I think it is a great way to integrate the "Captured" gameplay with the "Combat" gameplay. As the player would need to be captured in order to go through a section of the map.
Nothing too fancy, just a statue of a demon asking to do kinky stuff when captured if you want to pass.
So I am planning to develop this while making more lifecycles and finishing level 4.

Developers thoughts
After I am done with map design, I am planning to "Polish" this game.
These are the list of errors that I have found while playing the game.

Now, some errors are easy to fix, but some errors I cannot figure out why they are happening.
I wish I had the confidence that I can finish all of this next week, but realistically I need at least 2 weeks on error fixing alone.

So from next week wednesday to the 26th (day after christmas) I am planning to fix errors for a week and a half.
And even in christmas, I need some time with my familly, so honestly I cannot promise when the bugfixing will be completed.

No updates will be made to the demo this week, as level 2~4 is available for the paid game.
But I will try to add bugfixes to the showcase demo next week.
