Developer is already throwing hissy fits, I don't think this project is long for this world(not that it got updates anyway).
It's another case where the developer's Ego greatly exceeds what is practically viable as a scope for a project.

To be fair, the dev has always held that the game is just a method of reflecting the dev's world-building. The focus is on world-building, not the game. I wouldn't expect the game to ever get finished, because it's not at all a priority.

People like him give indie game devs a bad name. I mean, seriously, if you can't take criticism then maybe game development/design isn't for you.

I mean, if it's intentionally meant to be hurtful that's one thing, but seriously.

And it really is a shame. I really like the idea of the game. Not a lot of lovecraft stuff, especially in erotic games. Usually the closest we get is some generic tentacle porn.

Are there any games similar to this one, be it in theme or detail?

Dev is female and struggling with a variety of quite severe health issues. I wouldn't consider EsoDev in the 'normal' bucket of Indie Devs with the intention to publish a game in a few years for financial reward or recognition/personal achievement. Just trying to add a bit of context.

I just want to say two things here.

1) If you people wouldn't mind, don't necro the thread, just let it die, there's no need to add to it in any way.
2) The person who got banned, got banned for making entitled demands as to how I should conduct myself as a developer, dismissing the work I put into my project and getting weird about trying to, IDK "catch me out" on something? I'm not sure, but some "so you admit that" statements started coming out. More or less was just clear where they came from and what they wanted, so I offered them to leave on their own terms. They didn't, so I removed them from my server. No actual criticism was offered.

The game has been in continuous development with almost weekly Itch/Patreon updates and nearly daily Discord updates since the project started. Though right now I'm indisposed and in the hospital so the game is having a quite unusual 2 week break in updates. There also isn't anything I'd call drama happening, just someone very briefly overstepping their boundaries and getting yeeted for it.
