For anyone wandering, it is unlikely that there will be an update to this mod any time soon, if at all in the future due to Sancho being MIA for quite some time now. If you got issues with saves i suggest use SaveFixer from the OP and use LightmanP's mod in the meantime once he updates his which is a pretty decent alternative. Hopefully Sancho comes back at some point but it's unlikely he will be here for this update sadly. It certainly will be different playing it without his mod though

Koga3 usually does a mod also although I haven't seen an update on his site yet.
Havn't had time so far to check the new game release, and currently have some others to maintain later after work, too. But also have to admit not sure it makes even sense for me to continue my Mod. With LightmanP making a imo way better WT Mod (I'm not that good in that with free roam games) I maybe step back here. And maybe "borrow" his Mod for trying to at least update my port. Well, we will see.

Scrappy's or LightmanP? Because I never found a scrappy mod for Eternum, even doing searches. And LightmanP, well have to wait more time to be available for free.
My bad. I follow him on patreon, so I see the update posts there. It should be public sometime tomorrow. (I forgot where I got it when I responded)

Yeah, this is bittersweet. I've long prefered Sanchos Mods, best in the business, and still leaving you a choice (rather then leading you by the nose the way the modder chooses). I only got to interated with him a few times, but I loved reading how he helped other authors with doing better in Ren'Py coding. It's with a heavy heart that I now have to use the save fixer for this update.

Cheers Sancho1969 While I fear you are not, I hope you are well.

Do I leave the save fixer in the game folder after I install LightmanP's mod? I'm assuming the process is:
1.) Install 8.0
2.) Import Saves folder
3.) Install Save Fixer
4.) Run the last imported save on 8.0 and make a clean save
5.) Install LightmanP mod
6.) Load modded game with clean save

I'm not sure if the save fixer interferes wiith any other modded saves or if the stuff that Sancho wrote to the saves persists in future saves.

Probably you can skip step 4 but no harm done doing it also for safety, for what I notice in other games only is a problem if you still load Sancho modded saves, the clean saves work for me even if I take the SaveFixer out, I still leave it there anyway because I may need to check an older save made with Sancho mod. I save often hehe almost on every choice games give and in between chapters/episodes.

Edit: Just to really check if was an issue I moved the SaveFixer out of game folder and tried new saves I did with LightmanP mod and weirdly gives errors, so I guess I was wrong (for this game, in others with previous Sancho mod that I tested it worked) and the SaveFixer needs to be kept there it seems, not an issue for me because I would always keep it there, it is such a tiny file anyway. I may one day make a fresh playthrough anyway and before doing it I'll take it out just as a preventive measure, maybe it modifies every save, even the ones done from a new game.

Edit2 : I did several tests saving files using a playthrough I had before using Sancho mod that was with LightmanP mod (I only started a new playthrough with Sancho mod after I already played 0.7 version because I wasn't aware Sancho had a mod for Eternum) and also doing new playthrough game saves, both with the SaveFixer in the game folder. So I can say both those saves work with no issues when I remove the SaveFixer so it doesn't affect saves done with LightmanP mod and probably unmodded too. It only affects saves that had before been used with Sancho mod, the SaveFixer probably just ignores some variables that Sancho mod used and makes them work unmodded or with other mod so in those if you remove the SaveFixer from the game folder they give an error.
So in conclusion if you continue from a save file that used before the Sancho mod you have to use always the the SaveFixer file in the game folder.

Well i tend to leave the SaveFixer in just in case i want to load some other previous saves but new saves will not be affected either way. If you want you can safely remove it after you have made a new save

Yeah I thought the same but in Eternum they give error if they come from a save made previously with Sancho mod even if they are "clean not using Sancho mod but with other mod or unmodded" already, look at my post above yours.
This is the traceback error I get when I remove the SaveFixer
