Oh I have one better: someone posted 100% progress bar but the game came out 3 months later. HahahaThere's actually a bunch of project AVNs I've seen goin 0% to 80% in 2 months and then 80% to 100% in another 3 months.
Another type of scenario is those game devs bar being completely filled in 4 months, expect music... and that music took another 2 months.
There's another one that got like 85% next update completion, only to be halt so the dev remakes pretty much all the first chapter from scratch, which lead to like more 4 months of waiting.
Yeah, this is kinda what I mean with misleading. Not saying its the case with Eternum and Caribdis at all, tho.
well his last game was pretty long and the plot felt pretty fast tooLove the game but I got a question if anyone knows the answer. Any details or rough ideas on how long this game is going to end up being? I feel like there are so many cool things that could be expanded upon and explored, but the plot feels like it's moving pretty fast to me. Almost like we're rushing the main plot when there are a ton of side quests you could do as an analogy. I guess I'd be a bit disappointed if we hit a sudden ending when the setting is so interesting to me.
Easy to say though. When you really like something you typically want more of it.
Cant wait for the update!! So excited[0.3] - Progress Update
Hello everyone!
I sincerely hope you're all doing alright!
It is time to start remembering Eternum (in case you forgot about it ) because 0.3 is coming! I've been working hard these past few months, and I hope the result is going to be noticeable.
In terms of content, I think this one is going to be just as big (if not bigger) than what 0.1 or 0.2 were, and even if there are still a few big scenes left to do, I can safely say this will be my favorite update of Eternum so far.
The variety of scenarios is gonna be huge: we have some scenes outside Eternum, we have a lot of scenes inside Eternum (+6 different servers), we have funny, sexy, epic, emotional, scary moments, and we have tons of new songs, sound effects, and animations. A rollercoaster of emotions
I can't give a date of release yet, but it's gonna be at some time during April (being released earlier for higher tiers as always).
I always like to do renders/writing/code at the same time, and that's why I can't do separate progress bars for each part of development. (Because if the current update is at 75%, it means that I've done 75% of the renders, 75% of the writing, and 75% of the code, and so on). The current count is at 855 renders done, so for the full 0.3 update there will probably be more than 1150 or 1200 renders!
I'll post some more sneak peeks soon of the last 2 scenes that you haven't seen yet (one is a magic-oriented server that reminds of the Harry Potter world, and the other is a Classical Era one!) and I'll announce the definitive release dates when I'm sure that there won't be any delays.
Thank you all for making this game possible.
Remember that you can DM me anytime if you have any questions!
You guys are the best
Cheers!
Caribdis
Well, once in a life time was technically a horror game.I think Caribdis should try make a horror oriented game too, maybe one of those Cthulu fan games.
sometimes the last 10% is the worst because thats when you are fixing bugsThere's actually a bunch of project AVNs I've seen goin 0% to 80% in 2 months and then 80% to 100% in another 3 months.

Carib's been fantastic at staying on timelines with OiaL and Eternum; I've got full faith in them to not have this project drag out whatsoever.sometimes the last 10% is the worst because thats when you are fixing bugs
As a programmer once said: the first 90% of the project takes 90% of the time and the last 10% takes the other 90%.sometimes the last 10% is the worst because thats when you are fixing bugs
It is actually a common rule set in engineering in general and it is actually called the Pareto principle. As a programmer once said: the first 90% of the project takes 90% of the time and the last 10% takes the other 90%.
I used to be a programmer too. The first 90% is often used to care for secondary but interesting aspect of the work. The remaining 90% goes in an over productive dedline induced panical hyperactivity. As a programmer once said: the first 90% of the project takes 90% of the time and the last 10% takes the other 90%.
