That's cool and all but ... I don't really know what that has to do with what I said. I don't think anyone trusts reviews on this site that much. I just figured when someone says "best game", it means there's some kind of general consensus and not really stemming from the ratings on this site.
Even my personal top 5 is subjective. They're simply what I like the most. Although, I do stay away from anything rated below a 3 as a rule of thumb so I still use it for something. It's just from my experience, anything that massively disliked is disliked for a good reason.

I don't want to get too off-topic but four of them are in my signature. I'll probably organize it later to make it more clear. Eternum is definitely there. I'm still deciding what no. 5 should be. Used to be BADIK but that was before ep 9.

That's why I like Eternum so much. Sure there are still a good amount of tired tropes and just straight-up memes (not saying I don't like the jokes because I do) but the world-building is pretty creative and is brought to life through this medium. It's that perfect marriage between a fun idea and knowing how to utilize the different aspects of a VN that I always appreciate.

+8min: I was gonna say gatdamn that was fucking insane but leave it to wannabe kingpin to ruin the moment smh, jesus fuck tho that was hands down the best scene we got yet, one hell of a way to give out the climax too. Others have said it here already but Cari and the guy he's working with (iirc) have gone above and beyond with this one. Had doubts about Alex's spot at the top tied to a certain equally horny redhead, but this one knocked her out of the park. For now atleast, I still have my bias for her. Welp, leave it to Cari to casually gut my liver with serotonin just to uppercut me with newfound curiosity now that Bane from wish is having a more prominent role in all this. Welp, I'll gladly power through another 5-6 months for it, surely the rest of us would say the same :")
Once again, Fire update. Def more than made up for the few shortcomings the previous update had, as good as it was. Cari making it outta the itch.io regulatory changes with this one.

If Cari won't sell that stuff in the near future, I might consider him brain damaged. This is such a money printing opportunity, while simultanously making his fan base happy. Both for the shirts and the plushie (although I do understand how producing a plushie would be considerably harder for a single dev who primarily focuses his time on developing the game; but the shirts are an absolute no brainer)

All in all, what a glorious update. Alex scene was the hottest scene in the game so far IMHO and this is coming from an Annie kinda guy. Both in setting and execution. He's been stepping up the animation game too or is that recency bias? Now if you excuse me, this is a rather busy time, gotta play the new Stray Incubus update before Crimson High drops tomorrow :KEK::KEK:

I haven't played the new content yet but i love this game. The story has so much potential and if i read the spoilers correctly Then the new update is some freeroam and if the future updates are anything like in my mind then this game is gonna sky rocket to the top easily

Edit: i've replayed the entire game and i must start by saying Those cliffhangers will be the death of me. That said, well fucking done. Once again another AMAZING update, i can't wait to see what the future story brings

Got a new computer since the last update, so I'm doing a complete playthrough again and just had to stop and say I feel like Michael Jackson at the moment...

It used to be three months of developments and that's how often the updates were released until 0.6 which took more than 3 months, sucks it has gotten longer

The content also get bigger this is a healthy balance for a Game like Eternum, anything shorter will not feel good, and longer will take more time, the current way is perfect

The quality of this is actually crazy. Not sure I have ever come across something that had great humor, great story, great characters, AND great models before. Holy hell.

Not really.

The first release was posted in September, 2021 (you can get this by looking at the initial post date of the OP - unless the page somehow gets nuked and recreated, that corresponds to the initial posting of the VN here, at least within a period of a few days); update 6 was posted yesterday - that's 25 months elapsed, and five updates since initial post, which gives an average of 5 months between updates.

I got here just after update 0.3, it think (second update) and the next two updates, 0.4 and 0.5, were pretty close to that 5 month average, give or take a week. My download for 0.5 is dated January 24, 2023, dropping here within a day of top-tier release, so this one took about 6 months to drop, though the work on it was probably closer to 5 months since Cari is in the habit of taking a breather after each update. I would expect each subsequent update to start hitting around that six month mark, give or take a week, since this is a mature VN and it naturally has more complexity, at least if the size of the update remains about the same. If Cari decides to drop a scene to speed release, then we might get things faster, but we would have less play time. For me, each release is usually over 3 hours but less than 5, depending upon how much I explore alternate paths, how many screenshots I take, and how many times I replay a series of slides because I found them too good to not redo immediately.

If there was ever a 3 month update, it may have been 0.2, but I wasn't around for that and I seriously doubt it was that fast. Caribdis is known for quality and quality takes a minute or two.

I'd argue that Pale Carnations is telling a very focused and interesting story that's comparable but taking longer. Very few and very far measures of quality to Caribdis that can evoke emotion with the right song at the right time like he did with OIALT that made a whole bunch of porn nuts find the song, flood the Youtube, and make the songwriter blush about how his song was used.

I don't know who has the harder path, but given the choice, it's a tough choice for me between these two.

Story is gripping and there's a LOT of motivation for the women to react as they do.

We're finding out mysteries, the plot has intrigue and there's references all over the place.

Oh, and there's sex.
