Bullshit as always. So how it can be replaced?

AI-made music (i.e. Cosmic Dreams track used during the beginning of the Andromeda event), commissioned pieces from indie artists (i.e. Good Friends track used for the Annie penetration scene), and tracks from sites that don't have strict ToS usage I suppose.

Important Update: Changes to the Game’s Music



Hey everyone,

I wanted to take a moment to share an important update regarding Eternum’s soundtrack. Due to a licensing and guidelines issue with a music platform, we’ve had to remove all of its content from the game. Unfortunately, this means that a few of the tracks you’ve come to love will no longer be present.

However, thanks to the incredible effort of several community members, we’ve replaced those songs with other free alternatives and AI-generated pieces to try to maintain the game’s atmosphere. This wasn’t a choice we made willingly, but a necessary action to ensure the project can continue without complications.

Keep in mind that the new version 0.8.6 doesn't include any new content—the only change is the updated sound.

Resolving this issue temporarily paused development, but we’re now back on track and moving forward with 0.9 as planned.

I truly appreciate your understanding and support through this. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope you’ll continue to enjoy Eternum as we keep improving it.

We can only cross our fingers for a mod that fix that someday.
But in the meantime, time to store a backup of 0.8V...

Kinda easy to grab all the songs from the old files though. Although I understand that not everyone got a 16to HDD to keep all the old versions of their favorite VNs (or want to make the necessary changes themselves). I still have all Eternum versions back to v0.3 personnally (when I started playing it) and ain't no way I'm replaying Eternum without the songs we got used to

I do hope that someone better and less lazy than me do the work for the future versions still

Not every song with lyrics got nuked. Some songs like "Silverware" and "If I Had a Tail" are still there according to those on Cari's Discord.

Despite having played only a tiny little bit of this game, I'm really starting to feel weary of it already. This is probably going to seem like a really freaking petty complaint to some people, but the fact that we can't skip transitions in the game is just plain aggravating to me! I freaking hate the transition effects in Ren'Py games! They always fuck up the flow of the game so damn bad and makes reading them an absolute bloody slog.

I really wish the dev would enable the option to skip transitions. But I get the feeling he won't because "hurr durr artistic vision" or something.

THIS MEGA IS STRICTLY FOR COMPARING OLD VS NEW. THE FILES HAVE BEEN RENAMED WITH {OLD}, {NEW} AND {REMOVED} AND WILL NOT WORK AS A MUSIC RESTORATION PATCH

Link to mega folder with all changed/removed .ogg files. The program I used to compare solely goes by binary data, so whether this is a complete list I can't tell, but I figure I at least have most of it
Old songs marked with {old} at end
New songs marked with {new} at end
Removed songs marked with {removed} at end
That way the new+old versions of the song are next to eachother, since apparently on mega (on pc at least) you can play .ogg files so you won't even need to download them to be able to listen to what has been changed.

Man I kept the old versions of Eternum too . Guess we got lucky. Still sucks ass though.

Man this is really unfortunate. I had suspected something like this would happen since cari doesn't credit the music ingame and almost every cc license requires that you do so. But it's still a real shame. Not looking forward to AI music in the game.
