If you search the word "Genius" on google, you will find a picture of Einstein. While most of you think he's discovering theory of relativity, if you zoom in properly he's actually drawing Caribdis developing Eternum.
Holy shit, what a game. This developer was already one of my favorites for the perfect mix of story telling, action, drama, humour and sexy scenes. It may seem hard to do it, but this guy has his magic. Also he's completly humble, very comunicative and very thankful to his fans, worthy all penny of support.
His previous game, which I also love, had a perfect view of development. You could clearly see the growth as a dev if you played from the first release, with quality increasing from each version of the game, to actually see the final plot. Don't get me wrong, Once in a Lifetime was worth every minute of play, was just to state that you could see his growth as his first ever game.
On Eternum the things are different. Holy Molly, you can see that the experience gained in the first game wasn't in vain. You can clearly see an easier approach with the engine, and combined with his work ethic along with his humbleness, you can see top tier first release.
I was already a big fan of work, being one of the devs I usually encourage for people to support. I was also a bit skeptical, because I was wondering, if the last game was one of my favorite games on the adult genre, I found it impossible to exceed that. Oh boy, how I was wrong.
On Eternum you see a top notch product, to the point you start to even wonder if the game is from a stablished gaming studio, where the only thing that makes you comeback to the reality is being in RenPy. There's so much quality and care about the release of the product, which is incredible.
About the game itself, the plot is intriguing (as always), also somewhat unique (the genre of gaming was used but not to this extent), and all the charactes have quite distinct personalities. The MC is a cool guy, not exagerated personality (which I prefer), and all the female cast (main heroines) are also pretty likeable, and while still distinct from each other, they don't dive on sterotypes.
This is a game everyone must play. I know I'm suspicious, given how big of a fan I am of his work, but I guess the current 5 stars overall of the voting reinforce my opinion. It is an extremely remarkable product, with perfect mix of humour, story depth, music, and ambient. If you don't feel like it is your genre, I think you should at least try it for yourself.
Easy 5 stars from me. At this point I don't know where are the limits of this dev. Not even the sky is the limit, all my expectations are always blown to the roof. At this point I don't know what this guy can't do. Fantastic product, and again, if you can, support the dev.
Note: I hope this brings justice for the fact this guy didn't win the Christmas Contest. At this day I'm still baffled how he wasn't one of the winners.
