Haven't started playing the game yet but I'm starting to dislike Dalia.

First impressions aren't lasting and there's certainly some time for the characters to grow on you. With no context, any girl may give off the wrong impression and characters take time to develop. So when you do play, take your time, enjoy the ride, and never, EVER take a shortcut on the content. Because it's all worth it to see for yourself.

HELLO EVERYONE!

I know I've been a bit MIA these past few weeks, but I’ve been pouring all my time and energy into the update, doing my best to avoid any delays

Now, here it is, the 5th and FINAL batch of sneak peeks before the release!

Because YES, now I can finally say it... the new update is almost here!

In this final arc of the update, we’ll be returning to the scorching sands of the Valley of Kings server (the same one we briefly saw with Nova when we met Maat back in 0.2)

During this final part of the update, you’ll face the consequences of some of your past choices, as well as getting to make some new decisions that could shape the future of Eternum or our favorite girls... so make sure to choose wisely!

There are other exciting surprises waiting for you, but, as always, I’m keeping those under wraps to let you see it for yourself when you play!

But Caribdis, why are we in the Valley of Kings again? Is it because of a Gem? Who are these new characters? WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN?!

If you've been reading my previous posts, you’ll know I mentioned aiming to release the new update before Christmas—and that’s still the plan!

While I never announce an official release date until I’m 100% sure everything will be ready in time, I can share that, as of now, I’m targeting the week of December 16th-22nd for the release! (As always, it will first drop for the Demon Lord tier, with other tiers gaining access every few days after that).

I’ll also post one final Progress Report for all patrons during the first half of December, sharing the final details about what’s to come (this update is easily the one with the most content so far!)

You can finally start getting hyped, ladies and gentlemen...
0.8 is almost here!

It seems like this update is going to be packed. We have to finish the Pirate server off, we are going to Andromeda, and to the Valley of the Kings. Three adventures in one episode! Plus we need to figure out how MC lives, and all the lovely rl content in between. I don't think I will finish this update before the next one comes out!

Awesome looking Assassin Creed 1 vibes, I can't wait! I wonder if we are going to run in Maat again for a short bit?

Dalia looks stunning, and so does Calypso. Her behaviours when intoxicated will be adorable, I am sure. Hopefuly, this is the moment Calypso finally becomes a fully fledged LI.

It looks like the alien infestation is continuing to be strong. Does anyone know the legalities of Carib using licensed franchises like this? Does he have to pay, especially since he is making money from this game? Any knowers? I am just curious.

You have 3 options, depending your objective and how you play.

If you like to understand the story (which is awesome), then yes. There's plenty of content to play it smoothly.

If you just want to play for the CGs you can simply download them.

If you read everything fast, you can still play it now, wait for next release, and start everything all over again because you'll get addicted like 99% of the playerbase around this thread.

Does anyone know the legalities of Carib using licensed franchises like this? Does he have to pay, especially since he is making money from this game?

Most of the assets he uses for Eternum that come from various IP are mods that already exist for HS2. Cari just makes do with it instead of spending thousands just to commission for new assets (which he does but only for a few choice ouffits and maps, some of which are ported from Daz3D).



As for him making money off from the game...well, technically the game is free since Cari can't sell the game off of stores like Steam due to it being made from HS2 (it'll be like if you made a total conversion mod from Skyrim and try to sell it as a new game in Steam, which isn't possible). The only thing viable for him in terms of monetary compensation is if fans of the game financially support him to make the game, which is what Patreon and Subscribestar are for. That way, no product is sold and subs are just simply supporting the dev so he can finish the game without issue.

Ah fuck it mane, I usually avoid replays.. I havent even rewatched my favorite movie in over 6years now..

I must admit when I started playing Eternum I wasn't too fond of Dalia or Penelope at first. They felt like cheap rehashes of Lauren and Judie from OiaL, specially considering the extremely similar vibe of both games at the start: living with them as a long time family friend, highschool adventures shenanigans, etc. But as the story progresses, they definitively take a personality of their own, and proved that initial feeling very wrong. So, give her a chance.

Me too, but I'm pretty sure that's completely intentional, and part of the character's arc. Orion's been called out on it by other characters, so Cari is pretty intentional about it. It's definitely not "accidental asshole".

Oh, I wasn't criticizing Eternum there. What I meant is that some characters took their time to develop into their own individuals, so he shouldn't ditch a character just from first impressions.

Quite intentional indeed. Not only was he starting to notice the scumminess in his fooling around with multiple girls without their knowledge, but Idriel's lecture at the end of 0.7 made it absolutely clear. There has been speculation by people in this thread that repercussion and redemption for this are part of 0.8. We will see though.

I thought Calypso looked a little bit different in the sneak peek but can't put my finger on why. Saw somebody mention she looks drunk and that makes sense.

My prediction: She's not used to drinking alcohol and it turns out she gets horny from it, and like any teenager getting drunk for the first time she's bad at handling herself when drunk. She throws herself at Orion but with him being a gentleman, he softly rebukes her advances. When she sobers up she's very grateful that she wasn't taken advantage of by a mere human in her moment of weakness, and this cements her feelings for Orion, possibly setting up a proper sex scene with Calypso in 0.9.
