On serious note, Calypso is not part of the harem but she is crucial component for the best ending. I mean it was spelled out to us from the very beginning she is a weapon. If Cari wanted her to be part of harem and was planning to postpone her joining harem for this long he could have easily put another girl with ? over sillouette to tease readers. The fact that 0.8 comes with brand new design of girl bios and calypso is still on the same level as maat and eva as "others" is another proof that she is not main girl.

I feel like calypso is only not a part of it to "hide" her importance.

Until this update we simply werent sure if she is a real or a digital being. Only the cliffhanger proved that she is very likely a real existing being. Otherwise it would have been like calling a bot your girlfriend

She and her people could even be the origin of life on earth but at least seem to be the origin of the immortals, we dont know a lot so far.

Likely because unlike the other girls she has little to no dedicated side events and all of her events are basically in service to the main plot (whether it be infodumping the backstory of her lineage to being a main component in Orion's quest for the gems). Even our time in Hyril'ar in 0.9 will no doubt be main plot focused that'll be rife with infodumps and not a sidetrip like, say, Dalia's competition or Penny's photoshoot.

Calypso is an event herself and don’t need side plot devices to move to development along. As you said your self she is tied to the main plot and it don’t get more main girl energy than that.

On the contrary, I have an exact opposite idea that she's the default girl Orion can always have an ending with, even if he fails every girl's path, the fail-safe LI. Plus, with the amount of scenes she's in (and that 0.8 ending), it's hard not to consider her as a main girl.

screenshot proves that my definition of side girl is different from cari's definition. But nowhere in that screenshot do you have a confirmation that calypso is main girl. If anything, i can use that screenshot to prove that calypso is not even side girl but just a plot device thus further downgrade her posibilities of being main girl

Calypso is an event herself and don’t need side plot devices to move to development along. As you said your self she is tied to the main plot and it don’t get more main girl energy than that.

It doesn't have to be a sloppy second though. Like, in OIAT, there is Etereum ending if you fail every LI on purpose. Perhaps, there will be a unique ending with Calypso by failing every LI, as well.

apples and oranges. we were not comparing oiat and eternum, we were discussing if scripting someone to end up with orion no matter what (cant lose her path) makes her most important or least important girl

thats what i've been saying. she is not going to be part of the happy harem ending, she is the weapon orion needs to use in order to get that happy ending. In fact all 3 weapons of atlas will be used in aid of orions pursuit of his canon happy harem ending. He will sooner or later need to defeat thanatos one way or another to get gems of doom and in the same time gain the sword that can cut through everything, by being on nova's path he has power of dione by his side and calypso is third weapon. These "weapons of atlas" will all be used and potentially destroyed by the end of the game, meaning calypso sacrifice herself to save all the npcs, save idriel, break the chains etc. etc. etc.

Or she replaces Idriel as the Lady of Eternum once the latter passes into the great beyond like the other trapped NPCs once Acheron is opened. That also works.

If the writer is DrPinkCake, yeah it's possible, but I doubt Cari would write Calypso off, judging from her popularity. But hey, I don't mind being shocked if the twist is pulled well.
