Agreed. There is a soft core at the center of the tootsie pop that is Calypso. It is just going to take some licking and maybe even a bite or two to get to it.
should i play 0.8 or just wait for the next update? should be pretty close right? i havent played since 0.7 where orion got shot or something i forgot

just finished my first run through of the game. And all I can say is that this is fantastic. The storytelling, the humor and love the characters as well. And the teaser of that upcoming update, looks really good! Can't wait for the 0.9!
It feels like the update speed is getting slower and slower. First it was 14-15 days for 6%. Then it was 17-18 days. Now it's 21 days for 6%, which is the longest I've ever seen. I know I shouldn't complain but is the next 6% going to take 24-25 days? I really hope the game could be finished in November.

You don't know what 6% means. 6% of 2000 renders and 15000 script lines are less than 6% of 3000 renders and 22500 script lines. So as long as we don't know what 100% is we can't judge the progress speed.

You realize that that 6% is 6% OF THE UPDATE and not of the entire finished game, right?

It looks really unlikely the update will drop in November. Cardi would have to get atleast 10 percent progress in October alone to have a chance. Seems unrealistic given his pace this update so far.
Judging by his pace the entire year i do believe in a november release, probably not early but maybe like mid or late november
I just wish we had a more concrete timeline instead of just 'before the end of the year.' I really don’t want to be stuck working on launch day and I'm willing to book some time off to fully immerse myself in the game. But with the unsteady pace of development, it’s hard to predict when that will actually be

Yeah at that pace, 100% will be like 60 days from now on which will be middle of november. Final stretch becomes longer to complete so end week of november is a reasonable date, not setting my expectations for before that but will be happy to surprised

Worth remembering that there was a lot of churn from issues not related to 0.9's development during the month or two following the 0.8 release, so progress during that was heavily stunted. With the way it accelerated afterward we should be well on-pace for a November release even considering Cari always takes a bit longer with the last ~10%
