VN Ren'Py Eternum [v0.9.4] [Caribdis]

So I've been lurking around this thread for a while now, since everyone's praising this VN to high heaven, including AIs like ChatGPT and Copilot. I heard the story is this game's strongest suit, so I was excited to play 0.9 and go into it blind, from scratch. I'm like halfway through 0.2 right now (at least according to the walkthrough). The writing seems a little juvenile though. I kinda wanna keep going because the premise is very interesting and some of the characters are endearing, but the dialogue is just too cheesy and simplistic. I noticed that the chapters are long, so let me ask, does the dialogue improve over time, or...?

Nah. It's a masterpiece because of how the game's music choices WAS so fucking suitable for every events, scenes, etc. Too bad A LOT of those fucking songs are changed.
As for the dialogues, I heard the Caribdis is from a different country, so it must be cheesy for those who speak english since birth. But there are a lot of dialogues that also made it a msterpiece, just like whenever Orion's Goated scenes where he pops up to give quotes for the girls when something is bothering them, and whenever he's being charismatic as fuck.

No threesome/foursome with Carter family and music changes is making me want to stop supporting this AVN, but Graphic changes every update and curiosity about the story and new music that Caribdis put in his game, is making me want to continue to it.

I mean this is a Ren'py game with no page limit on saves, so you can go well over 1200+ saves if you really wanted to.

Honestly, if more content is made for the future after the game is complete, it would be neat if it were like, just singles content instead of full blown harem, cuz I'm sure nearly everyone picks the harem content so they don't miss out on the actual content.

Many people don't want to choose between multiple of their favorite characters, so they prefer to go the harem route instead of limiting themselves to just one specific girl they like.

yeah, that's another reason. I'm simply saying having those types of exclusive options in the future might be nice, for when people get incentivized to play the game again and have a specific favorite girl or two (I'm sure quite a few people have one already). A couple other games thought of this like Bare Witness and V.I.R.T.U.E.S. where not every girl would probably be in your harem, but it was still possible to have different combinations of love interests.

I also personally prefer the harem route because playing the same game over and over again every time you have multiple favorite girls in the game is sometimes too tiring. This way I get to try all the routes with all my favorite girls in one playthrough and don't have to play the same game over and over again.

The borderline kinetic ones in which "there is best route which allows you to see everything" (Eternum and Once in a Lifetime are both like that), and ones which incentives you to replay it from start to finish multiple times (Being A Dik being the primary example). Each type of game has their own identity, and being in the middle between the two is worse than being on one or the other.

Being right in the middle, is like having save at 50% of the game, where once major choices alter everything, to the point that going forward it's like the dev is developing 2 games/stories rather than one.

Eh, if that's how it be, that's how it be. I feel something has to be racked up with all these different outcomes to events you can get. Like, imagine being a stick in the mud and skipping one third of Calypso's content in this update; how does that unfold for the rest of the game, considering all that happens?

I bet the dev will go with "bad ending" for some choices, and "not perfect route" endings for some others. Example of bad ending i can see are "telling the founder you are willing to sacrifice love ones for power and then actually doing that", "accepting his aid which result in you becoming puppet", "Nancy making good on her warning if you hurt her daughters", "failing quick time event once you don't have Idriel protection resulting in game over and epilogue of what happened to the world after Orion died". Not perfect route will be "being forced to pick only 1 LI at the end due to non optimal choices (like last game)", "maidenless ending (no LI)", and probably "fully virgin ending".

isn't this takes too much time? I remember the dev said he doesn't want to makes the game too complicated and long. And that he focus more on the story... And here i am, years after OIAL ended. Eternum still didn't end :v

Jesus… I figured, well why not, just try the game out. I’m more into 3d free movement games like Koikatsu but fuck…. This game Eternum is amazing! Played up to saving Daliah and…. Damn good game

I genuinely had to load up old saves to remember some server names.

The funniest part to me was Alex noticing and shifting her eyes to Nancy... I'm almost pissed we didn't get to see Nancy and Penny talk... Sounded like it would be absolutely hilarious

I'm actually surprised Penny didn't mention something to Dalia after her whole "we're both still sisters and family!" spiel, cuz that would have been a funny curve-ball to toss in after they made up.
