Okay, that bit about Cari not being the real Cari is weird...
I mean, it is understandable to not want your early releases leaked, since that is one of the incentives for the Patreons to even buy the higher tiers then again these pirate boards are also one of the few avenues that might lead people to the Patreon page, since he can't actually put out ads or promote it on Steam or whatever. So it's not a complete one-way street either.
From what posts I've gathered it's also about him not wanting unfinished work being distributed out in the high seas because...well, they're unfinished. I suppose there's something demoralizing about having a partially finished work being sent out and some rando schmuck plays it and says "WTF is this buggy POS? Fucker finally got lazy and joined the Darkcookie/ICSTOR league of milker devs, for shame." Worse is if that schmuck joins Discord and starts ranting about it when they have no business doing so (though thankfully people who talk about the update outside the spoilers channel gets automuted until the public release, so there's that).

Reminds me of Zorlun having that problem with leaked patreon versions of his game that have certain stuff cut out because of patreon and then people come here and asking where that content is because they're playing a version they shouldn't even have access to.

Like I don't develop games (obviously), but I started to half-ass playing certain games to the end because I really wanted to start another game right after it and my head was already thinking about the new game all the time.
Wonder if Cari finally gets the balls to set his next game in his home turf (Spain)? I mean, the US (Kredon) and the UK (Mistbury) are all well and good...but I wish the next place is somewhere a bit more off the beaten path and such.
