People are encouraging the "emergency food" meme so much these days that I'm even scared the game will have cannibalism in the next updates.
Its just devs doing fun cameos as fanservice and/or advertising. The way a different dev decides to include a cameo in their game is not indicative of whats canon. So just take it for what it is. It is a simple and fun cameo because the devs know each other and are probably friends. The update is going much slower than expected but I trust the dev as he is upholding the quality and no doubt it will be just as good as always. I hope we are getting closer to finding out what the virtual game is really about
