Got it the first time after reviewing other parts of the game for the answers. I also do not think you need to lie just get lucky with the bird since it is random. Winning the server game was rough as well until I figured out you could peek into the future to see servers though it doesn't really matter since the goal isn't just to win. Chopping wood was relaxing glad I chopped 100.

It means the porter added an extra, like a walkthrough "choose option a for x route" or sound/menu replacement.
