are all the love interests optional?
You can be flexible on which routes to proceed on, or ignore certain characters' routes altogether. There is an option to terminate progress on routes as you see fit

You can just not start their quest lines. Even if you do, you can still abort them mid-route a bit later on.

So, by abort/terminate a route mid-playthrough, do you mean in the middle of a love interest's route, there will be an option to reject the love interest?

That's pretty much it. You can directly NOT start a route for a character or progress the route a lil bit, get to a certain point, usually before TOO much happens and you are given the option of:
- Continue (usually with a required slut level)
- Stop for now and continue later (if you just wanna do it later, don't have the needed slut level or wanna think on it)
- Stop this and end the route. (Ends the route)

Just completed Mr. Burton's route.

Other than the "Abort" option (where you stop for now and continue later), there doesn't seem to be an option to stop and end Mr. Burton's route mid-playthrough.

I was hoping that there would be a way to end Mr. Burton's route without Eva fucking him. Or better yet, an option to reject the secretary job at the very beginning of Mr. Burton's route, thus having somewhat of a closure to his route rather than just ignoring it altogether. There's an option to end and have closure to Rick's route mid-playthrough, so I don't know why Mr. Burton's route doesn't have that option.
