Did he announce this on Discord? Because on Patreon the last thing he released was Wip. Also, in the last Patreon update, he said that the new game would be released close to the EE 0.7 update. "Maybe before or after." It didn't say anything about the update being delayed.

He announced in the answer to some random on his patreon. He added that is should be out by mid june.

I've completed all the 15 animations for Eva's Ecstasy 0.7 and will start drawing still arts.
The update now will also have balcony guy's content along with little of Hilda.
But on parallel, I'm also working on another game called "The Best Wife". It's a pov style male protagonist game.
It will be about cuckolding/sharing so it might not be for everyone. Still I wanted to try making one.
The first chapter might release near EE 0.7 update. Maybe before or maybe afterward.

It seems that Gilga doesn't get how big of a game could EE be.
He literally has a semi-RPG system implemented that could work if he(she, but judging on the way fem characters are written I believe that Gilga's a male) thinks shit through. Like, want Eva to be dominant and bend someone to her will? Make a few choices to shape her that way and bypass checks. Want her to be a submissive dolly? Go on, make that choice.
Want her to be able to overpower someone - cool, hit the gym. Want her to outsmart/outwit and avoid a particular branch/character that you don't like - go on, read books and do work. Want her not to be a slut, but still cheat with only one character who fits your kinks? Go on, shut down other characters with using Eva's stats/progression/making not so obvious choices that lead towards that.
I hope that the only character, NSFW scene with whom you can't avoid, will remain Amy in first cheating scene.

Just turn each character into a legit LI with personality, motivation, yada yada and not into another dick/pussy to fuck.
IMO, the whole porn shoot/becoming a prostitute is a wrong turn, but hey...at least it's avoidable.

Creating another game while there's a number of them that you still haven't finished is a meh decision.

So creating this new game will give him a creative break. I'm fine with it if it's good for the devs mental health. I think that it will be better for a Dev and Supporters if the Dev do something different or take a break once they finish one project.

Yeah I totally agree.
Plus it also make it difficult for dev to work on two different stories simultaneously.
Ecstasy series wouldn't get abandoned but there is a very high chances that the other side project may get abandoned, observing the progression of his past side projects.

For what it's worth, if Gilga wants to spark their creative ingenuity again by working on other games to keep themselves from getting bored of continously developing the ecstasy games, then more power to them.

We all need inspiration to flow from other creative outlets from time to time to keep ourselves engaged in the long term. So, imho it's totally reasonable why GG wants to work on a side project in the midst of developing Eva's Ecstasy.
