Actually think the video card is failing. But I have a new one coming on Friday. Right now this is what the card is doing:
02C9D0E2-BF70-4DD7-BD75-36B0FFD735D8.png B7EB6477-C59F-4670-8148-CDD91810527B.png
note I have not actually changed any setting or updated any software or hardware. This just started happening a few days ago. What leads me to believe it’s gpu failure is the following images. Remember the Astrid in deck preview a while back?
0AC7389E-96F0-4092-8446-46681B488A36.png
Well, this is what happens if I load it up into iray preview now:
089F27BD-C58D-4CE7-BC5E-D906A15F289F.png
this isn’t mspaint or any photoshop weirdness. Those are artifacts showing up in real time. Giant squares that constantly shift colors from red to green to yellow.

New video card is supposed to arrive in a few days so when I swap it I hope it gets rid of this problem. Otherwise I have to figure out what the hell else could possibly be doing this.

This issue is problably happening due to the video card's shadowing system or shadering system. I mean, looks like DAZ is using the new Ray Tracing based with Directx 12 code now. I don't now! Maybe this new DAZ improvement is making glitchs with old video cards. My advice: You should try to render using another program like Blender or something like that.

Well I suppose that's a possibility. The only problem is this just started happening randomly and I hadn't updated my drivers for my card. Additionally I have now updated to the latest stable studio drivers and I still have the same issue. Furthermore, I haven't updated Daz itself in a long time, especially after it started having issues with ghost lights. Legit I use daz 4.12 and the current version of Daz is 4.21. I have a general rule of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" when I'm in the middle of a project so as to not break something. Though it appears something broke anyway. Looks like I'll have to update daz anyway now.

And also, you could've spent that time communicating better instead (which you are now, compared to then), so I think my criticism still applies.
Only comment I have is that communication isn't an issue here. If timepants has made something very clear (multiple times) is that this game isn't their fulltime job. Is it taking them long? Yes. But they've been very open on how long updates will take, almost from day one

Yeah obviously its not a fulltime job, but A YEAR bro?? And its not just a hobby either. He's making almost 2 grand a month now, so it has to be considered a side hustle at the very least. And no, when it comes to this delay, we never really heard about what was happening only until relatively recently (when he made the post about DAZ taking too long to open), neither did he post about it to his patrons I think. Before that it was the classic CDProjektRed style "when its ready", and nothing else.
Actually the current patreon amount is skewed because one person decided to donate so I could get the new card to replace the dying one. On average I'm making around $500ish a month from this.

Also I did post about the daz morph loading issue to patrons.

And I probably wouldn't use CDProjekt Red as an example because cyberpunk was a mess specifically because it wasn't given the time it needed and fans and execs demanded they release it before it was done.

Ignore folks like this Timepants. He may be in your discord, but he's posting over here and not on your Patreon site tells me he ain't even giving you a dime.

Just another entitled person expecting free shit.

That's fair, I did notice the earnings to patrons ratio was unusually high. I stand corrected.

I was talking about all the time before that.

I agree, I was using it as an example for the lack of transparency. Not the shitty launch.

Just another emotional fan blindly defending his favorite creator and painting any and every criticism as "entitled", *sigh*. This site seems to be full of em. Oh well.

I wish the best of luck to you timepants. I hope the new GPU fixes the issue, as well as the loading issues (have you tried an SSD? Or are you already using one?). What is it now, 2 months before this officially gets the abandoned tag? I really hope things workout, I really like the game.
It won't get the abandoned tag since the dev is posting here regularly.

You did actually come of as a bit entitled in your posts when you assumed that just because it's been a long while since the last update it meant the dev is lazy/milking/have little interest in doing the game.

This is the kind of stuff I don't like. Jumping like rabid dogs on anyone who dare questions anything. How am I policing anything? I just said I am a fan of the work, I merely explained the optics of it. Of how it LOOKS.

And your last statement "all you should care about is frequency and quality..." and then you proceed to say "if you like the quality than it shouldn't matter how long it took..." you just contradicted yourself. I can enjoy the quality of something, and still think that this shouldn't have taken a year :cautious:.
I didn't say "if you like the quality it shouldn't matter how long it took" I said "if you like the quality considering" the wait, then is fine" My point was that if this update happens to be massive with 8 hours of quality content, silk smooth animations and with Ashur voiced by David Hayter you could say the wait was worth it... now if the update brings 15 mins of new content it would be pretty bad and not worth the wait right?.... but what if the update only took 2 weeks? 15 mins of content in two weeks is pretty good. In the end we all make a balance between how long we wait and how good the content is to determine if the wait was worth it. That's why I suggest to wait until the update arrives before shitting on Timepants. Specially if we aren't supporting him economically.

It seems a lot more like you assume your viewpoint is the average viewpoint. These kinds of entitled views are certainly shared by other people on the site but are in no way the default. Feel free to criticize the quality of the work as no creative endeavour is immune to criticism from anyone, but since you're not a customer and this game is updated for free you have no right to criticize their production schedule.

This is not his full time job, you are not paying him, the only people that are entitled to matters regarding production are the people actually paying him, videogame development is not the equivalent of shopping for groceries at a Walmart looking for the best deals and art is not the same as buying toilet paper - things change, and break, all the time, even when it is your full-time job and you have to have the freedom to change or throw things out that don't work in order to make something good. Unless you're paying for it pretending that there is some kind of "minimum accceptable content quota" is just ignorant.

Unlike you, it's clear his patrons understand this.

This. I would have a different opinion if timepants was inconsistent, didn't communicate often, gave clear signs he wants to quit and kept obviously milking the story and holding the scenes his players want WHILE charging for it and making empty promises.
So far, I've seen the contrary of all the above. I don't need to be licking anyone's boots, I just say things how I see them, but it annoys me when some people suddenly come over with baseless attacks. No one's paying him, he has the right to quiet whenever the hell he wants, yet he expressed he wants to finish it.
