I’ve played this. It’s short, and the developer explains why in his notes. The graphical quality is high. This is a developer who knows how to handle HS2.
The story? Too early to tell what it even is.
The UI is also very good (made by someone else). Overall, everything is of high quality.
But the developer admits he had to redo the story with help from a writer. That’s not a good sign—it suggests that the developer not only struggles to translate his ideas into scenes when writing but maybe doesn’t really know how to move the story forward.
Let’s see what happens in the coming months. But right now, I get the feeling this is another “HS2 virtuoso” who knows how to make great renders but is unable to tell a compelling story.
The developer himself has admitted as much by needing to ask others for help. If another equally short update shows up in 2–3 months, then we’re likely talking about another HS2 virtuoso who spends more time rendering than actually telling a good story.

Honest question: why does the hair look so terrible on all of the character models? Some people referenced HS2 - is that what the dev used to design (or modify) the characters?

Take a look at that second to last sample pic - the lady with the pink hair - for example. You can see texture and finer details in the top she is wearing but the hair is pixelated and terrible looking. Why is it so bad?

I noticed this with some other games like Desirium that have excellent character models but with terrible hair that breaks all sense of realism. Does HS2 just suck with hair or what else could be going on??

Honest answer: Because developers sometimes prefer to use wigs created by modders, even if it's obvious that they look bad in the images, rather than using the default ones from HS2 or those that simply look good from the start. There are certain methods to improve the quality of wigs and image rendering: upscaling, Cina Ultra… The latter requires a powerful computer or a lot of patience during rendering. And sometimes, even with these methods, they still don’t look good.

By the way, Desirium uses VaM aka Virt-A-Mate
