Wolf RPG - Completed - Explorer Of Yggdrasil [v1.01] [Black Train / Kagura Games]

The game has some really nice CG art and has a lot of interesting ideas for a H game but it also tends to fall into some serious problems as the game progresses.

Combat:

Pro- a unique and active quick time event based combat is pretty fun at the beginning but leaves much to be desired for complexity.

Con- combat gets boring relatively quickly as there isn't really any difference between the combat styles and weapons. Number of attacks, blocking, etc are all effectively treated the same with not much reason to pick one over the other.

Story

Pro- An interesting premise that tries to merge sci-fi with fantasy elements.

Con- Story doesn't actually take any risks with its characters who tend to be one noted. Gilles, our main male MC, is extremely contrived and actively seems to break the plot late in the game. It doesn't help that any believable character growth is missing for most of the cast and there isn't a good reason given in the "twist" at the end. Simply put the Spanish Empire didn't collapse because they brought back gold and technology from the Aztecs. The British and the Dutch Colonial rise did.

Mid- Best characters in the game unironically are the two main female characters Mei and Kal who also unfortunately represent most of the games charm.

Game is a solid game but doesn't reach the same quality of other games.

Great plot and world building for a porn game, could use better enemy variety and animations, beyond that CG scenes are well written and constructed with plenty of variety and a good amount. Overal a solid 3/5, definitely a good sign that I rolled credits and didn't just come for the nsfw. Appreciate the bit of humor as well.

Game play was alright, not anything to call home about, the thing that saved this was the art, the art is really good, the different classes of things you can be was also a great feature, worth your time

God tier CGs and a fun gameplay.

The gameplay is innovative compared to other rpgm games and is quite fun with a good progression that keep you playing.

The artwork is really well made and the scenes are of enough quantities.

In overall it's really worth your time and money.

Quite a fun game. It's not usual combat style of turnbased combat games but it's still turnbased, just presented differently.

Quite fast, both in how fast can you get it all and how fast to finish it. I'd say some 2h. Combat is fast, doesn't require grinding and in general gameplay aspects are fun enough.
No defeat rape which is nice. Main character looks great, this artstyle isn't my thing but it still looked amazing to me. She's a whore and she behaves like one. All scenes can be unlocked in one playthrough and there are no lock restrictions.

Gallery is on tip of the hand, controls are great, character zooms around nicely and skip text is fast. You can skip scenes every time, even first time. I respect good QoL stuff.

This game has a lot of fantastic qualities... why did I give it 3 stars?

Well one of them isn't so much the game but the uploader, there is a titfuck tag, I did not see a single tit get fucked. I will change this to 4 star if someone can enlighten me.

The gameplay itself - its FINE. It is a simplified version of the usual RPGM games, just hit them until they die. In this, its; Run, Attack or Heal (this results in around half the H Scenes).

The H-Scenes - I was quite happy with them at first, but the lack of variety got to me eventually. The Bestiary/Record shows there's around 20 enemies (rough memory) but the variety of H in combat is around 4 or 5 animations. The Bestiary/Record is just a few enemies but with different colors / a different skin. I do not normally mind this, as the H-actions are really hot, but I kept thinking the next floor enemies will have different animations... they did not.

Accessing the H-Scenes was easy. They lay it out for you in a list if you wanted. In combat doesn't require losing, it is actually used to help you win. Non-combat scenes are slutty/consensual scenes around a camp of individuals/survivors(?)

Story - It was OK, it was aiming for something good for a H-Game.

Outfit variety is a huge thing for me, my usual gripe of a woman not wearing a bra/underwear could be ignored for this entry given the style of outfits/classes you have. This game has a round 7 different classes and thus outfits, the in game H actions reflect your outfit, which is nice.

Recommend? If you like semi-shy but also slutty protag with big tits. This is worth a go. But it would only take you 2 hours to beat and 1 hour to get bored of it.

This is a small game you can beat in 2 hours. You have equipment, turn based combat which is far too easy, almost infinite heals in battle. You use your healing potion to make the enemy horny and have H-scenes, after which their weapon is stolen, and from the beginning your own companion suggests you to let the enemies fuck you so you can steal their weapon, it's very meme-y for sure.

The H-scenes are all static images, no matter how horny the main character gets it doesn't change anything which is kinda weird, losing battles doesn't do anything, you just are sent to the home base, you can save anywhere so you won't be losing progress at all. It is pretty good fap material though.

The story is a snooze fest, just hold Ctrl. Very unusual for games from the publisher Kagura Games.

The complaint I have is the main character's voice, in game and in combat she talks too much and never shuts up, you can change the voice options sure, but still, very annoying.

Another complaint I have is that there's no way to reach a game over, at all, making you think that this is some sort of a tech demo and not a finished game.

Also, no animations in the H-scenes, at all, so 3/5 is my rating. Consider just dropping a save and watching the gallery, it's not worth playing the game, but if you want some combat and basic dungeon crawling then sure, go ahead.

It's a solid game, with easy but fun combat mechanics, and easy way to get to sex scenes.

The scenes are hot and well written, however it felt like they were seriously lacking context, since moste of them are just prostitution with random strangers FMC never talked to, that are introduced in the middle of banging.
Also there is no corruption, the FMC is a slut from the beginning who startedselling herself even before the game started... (and you don't get the money !!!) so it's disappointing because the game keeps reminding you how unusual it is for a shy girl like her to enjoy it but it's all you've ever seen of her so...

Her "love" interest is shady and is a robot so here again... hard to feel invested.
Most of the scenes are a single position with variations but that would be fine if it wasn't for the blurr supposed to mimic movement and the extreme close-ups that are most of the scenes. The men are decorum and the cocks are standards and transparent.

Still fun and easy to play, 5 to 7 hours to complete.

PRO :
- The Art CG and pixel animations are really great.
- A lot of scenes are voiced, which is very cool.
- The game is not to hard and the H content is easily unlockable.

CON :
- The game is really short and can be done in few hours.
- While there is an interseting system of weapon and stuff, the dungeon it self is not interesting and too simple.
- There is no optionnal quests or stuff like that to unlock more content.

Overall, a quick game with great CG and H scenes, but a lack of content and a boring gameplay.

Okay, it's not perfect. It's voiced in Japanese, so you never know if they're enjoying it or being brutally murdered, because JAV hentai actresses have no difference in voice readings.
Also, if you don't like the idea of playing a massive turbo-slut, it might be a pass for you.
The idea of fucking enemies to steal their powerful weapons is neat, but poorly conveyed in practice. You might find a random enemy with an Ultra Rare weapon called the "Manglefucker 9001: Ass Blaster Edition v2.0" and you'll never know until it kills you in one shot.

On the whole, it's a really good H-game.
It's a little on the short side for an RPG, but there's a lot in a small package.
May be a tad easy or hard at times, depending on luck. Still, if you're dying in one hit, start stealing with sex to get your gear up to par.

Quite good for what it is. The art is truly fantastic, the story is passable, and the gameplay, while simple, works (for the most part, the special meter mechanic is kind of insane).

That said, the porn is mostly just monsters, mimics, various traps, stuff like that. Not a ton of variety. The constant weapon-swapping kind of gets old too, and the shopkeeper's gacha can easily let you break progression by picking up a weapon way too strong for where you are in the game.

Definitely could be worse though. It's worth a try, and maybe worth a buy to support the developer if you like it a lot.

I mean this game pretty much feels like inferior spin-off of Branded Azel. Although I think scenes in this game were much hotter, the game itself was pretty much pointless on gameplay aspect. Scene viewer would been better.

Basically if Azel was stronger 6, this game is weak 6. It’s carried by its art and scenes. So please… Black Train do better….. you have god tier art and really great lewd voice acting. Literally this art is so enjoyable and so is voice acting if characters are drowning in lust.

Thankfully or not this game at least is rather short. You can hunt for all scenes pretty fast and push through story quite fast to get last bit of scenes. There are difficulty options, but I don’t see the point of that…

Gameplay is essentially attack, block, heal and only thing you change about your character is the class (which stats go up while levelling & what weapon does extra damage) and gear you get from mobs (various weapon types with various stats and extra effects) … but gameplay gets pretty dull pretty fast. But at least it’s much faster & better for Hentai game that’s focus is not on the game. I mean, in the usual RPGm games you just have turn based encounter > spam Z > win > rinse & repeat & pray game offers cheat skills/weapons to hunt for scenes that would allow skimming the combat. This game combat is at really really fast, you can avoid most enemies, cheese for high end gear with good perks > make combat easy af > profit > win win.

In all honesty, there isnt much to say about this game. Considering it was made by Black Train, all of their games have good quality gameplay, art and scenes. Their games are nothing revolutionary or groundbreaking, but without a doubt, they got it covered with quality.

What makes this game good

-Exciting gameplay, challenging but doesn't make your brain hurt.
-The story is very deep, detailed, enjoy to be followed until the end.
- Unique design is a plus for ahegao lovers.
-Battle mode is very challenging plus classes that make the way of fighting different from other classes.
-CG is not bad there is sprite mode and cg mode
-Voice actor is very, very good

The art is great in this game, the interface as well, but I feel like they're missing a lot considering its potential.


The classes offers nothing in abilities and only a change in clothing and some extra stats.

The enemies are a bit too childish for my taste (and I don't mean illegal). Half of them are fluffy and cute monsters, which personally is a turn off. I like the orc and reptile ones though.

The sexscenes are mostly pixelated animation and quite good but quickly gets repetitive. The few CG scenes available is zoomed in almost completely on her face so you miss a lot of details.

The dialogue is okay and not that memorable.

The voice acting is great. I really like Kal's voice actor for example. Although, if you've played enough games like these most of it doesn't feel very unique.

The interface have a lot of wasted potential. Materials is a wasted tab in the menu for example.

The lootsystem and slot system with Kal is interesting and fun, but it doesn't seem like there's enough of the latter. 5 bronze, 5 silver and 5(?) gold. Most of the items I got personally is replacable on later stages.
Later on there's a system that improves the droprate of rare items, and raises the difficulty of the mobs and if you're a grinder then you'll like it. Although the mobs are already hard-hitting without the added damage and health.

The combat is rudementary at best, and terribly unbalanced at worst. You can two-shot a boss and then get two-shotted by a mob next level. There's no abilities, and the block with shield is a must against an enemy with a weapon and yet offers little resistance to the damage recieved either.

At some point the enemies will outlevel you to an almost comical degree. I'm at the last stage, and the mobs is 130+ while I'm at 39. Which makes zero sense with the game's progression up to that point. Unless you're actually supposed to grind for 10 hours to get to a reasonable level.

You can still beat those mobs, but you have to heal and steal their weapon as soon as possible, and it still hits you harder than the previous bosses.

Story is kinda meh with "some" inspiration taken from Norse lore names, but it has nothing to do with its myths.

Explorer of Yggdrasil had a lot of potential. It looks great, but, unfortunately not a lot of depth. Could have been a knock-out.

This is a really good game, I should probably buy the game to support the developers.
Actual gameplay and story works well and the art is amazing.
In particular, I love games that have alternate costumes, even more so the ones that change CGs which this does.

A WolfRPG game made in collaboration with Sugar Star? Cover looks good; I'm in... though a little more research would have revealed that Blacktrain's preferred themes are not my preferred themes. I'd still recommend this game though since H is entirely avoidable and the combat system is (as far as I know) unique.
Playtime: ~3 hours
- Art in the HCGs is weirdly zoomed in all the time. I hope you don't have a top-of-head fetish!
+ Gameplay is surprisingly solid and a departure from stand rpg combat. Different weapons can shift your playstyle, and since they're randomly generated you'll often find something new which may be worth looking into. You can try to balance the stat increases from using a particular stance with the damage bonus your best/favorite weapon gets from a different stance. Increasing lewdness gives you stat points to distribute as you see fit, so you can min-max or try to make a balanced character. I think the system could work quite well in a 12-hour game, since things move a little fast here. One shortcoming is the mega attack: a timed button press will launch an attack which usually does 200% or 400% damage... but most weapons attack 2-4 times per turn so they're already doing 200-400% damage.
= There isn't much to do with money, since for some reason you can only purchase gacha tickets in the post-game.
= H-scenes are oddly avoidable. You have to go back to town, choose a specific sleep option, then wander around talking to npcs. They're all voyuer scenes (even though you spend most of the time playing as the girl) and the perspective shifts between characters too. You can also change the frequency of H in combat, though it only comes up when you and based on your weapon's modifiers you may never need to manually heal.

I really dont know what to say. It is one of the first games that made grinding fun. I played it a time ago, but I remember how much fun I had with the in battle sex system and how enjoying it was that you actually got rewards out of it. One of the more fun games out there.

The story is ok, but the characters are wonderful. I simply fell in love with them.

Fun game worth downloading.

As is the usual with Wolf RPG, the combat is more engaging than the usual turn based RPGM slog, though it's not exactly a whole lot better - QTE based defense if you have a shield equipped, then the usual turn based melee dependent on your agility, strength, and health stats. Some pixel art battle fucking is incorporated, which is a nice touch but is limited to only a handful of animations. The full CGs are pretty frequent and definitely the main draw of the game - really excellent artwork overall, especially the facial expressions & ahegao for those who are into that. There are also a good amount of costumes for the heroine, which is nice for customization and variety's sake, but each armor set also affects combat in a way that adds a bit more depth.

There's actually a rather nice story, too. The game doesn't try to prioritize narrative over sex scenes too much, but the story and setting are pretty compelling. Also, the translation is virtually flawless. Highly recommended if you like slutty female protagonists.

A truly wonderful game, very entretaning , very good gameplay, but its a TRULY GOOD H GAME. Its one of my favorites,
