Question from a Native English proofreader.
Why do sentences in foreign translated games rarely start with a qualifier?
Example: from this game.

"Get all that dye out.. wonder if I should go full red?" (MC's mom thinks to herself)
IMO It should say
"I need to get all that dye out... I wonder if I should go full red?"

I see this all the time. :( Just curious.

I'm actually a native english speaker. The reason I don't type out full sentences like that is because it's not natural.

Ok, you're saying that this sentence is more natural when saying it as an inner thought?
("Get all that dye out.. wonder if I should go full red?")
Than this sentence?
("I need to get all the dye out... I wonder if I should go full red?")

You don't need to affirm your own identity in your head. Also she's in the process of getting the dye out, so why say I need to? It's more about her being thorough about getting it out rather than doing it in the first place. Really pedantic discussion anyway.
