Collections of what? For animations / comics collections it works great. For games, it usually also works fine but depends on each case. Rule of thumb is that if you see a version number / date for the collection in f95zone latest updates page, then it will work great. If not, it may be a little hit or miss
Yeah, it was a game collection and it has a date as version. I guess it should work same as games with multiple versions when it comes to launching.

I was thinking of separating titles with complete, abandoned and in progress status.
Then I might want to separate the in progress titles between Kinetic Novel ones or those that contain fetish.
If you can give me a hint how I could manage it with a single database that's fine
labels and tabs. maybe tabs for the progress status, and labels for genre. or other way around. but absolutely there is no necessity for separate databases for those kind of needs

Like Willy says. you only need a filter of some kind. I use tabs myself. It is also easy to filter Status: Complete (I think. Something like that. I would have to check). Make the filter, select them all, right-click one of them, [move to tab] / [new tab]. and so on.

And sorry, Willy labels for this don't make much sense, since you can already filter by game status and genre (tags), since you would have to filter by the label.

But maybe that would give people something more to do. I take it back. :ROFLMAO:

Actually, my need is of a particular type.
In one database I keep all the titles of my library and I check the updates, because I have to keep the library always updated, while in another database I insert titles that I want to keep under control, but that have nothing to do with the library, so I don't want to mix the two lists.
That's fine, they are like creating multiple databases and renaming them with a batch.

It seems like you want to do different things with the different databases which would mess up the other. In which case I would recommend using multiple computers in order to keep the libraries separate.

That's one solution, another is to have multiple %AppData%\f95checker folders to rename as needed. It's best if the management of titles not in the library are checked occasionally, for example once a week or a month, while those in the library I check daily.

However, it is undeniable that this tool is really useful. ;)

another option could be "f95checker.library" and "f95checker.personal", then use a batch script to make a symlink from either one to "f95checker", this way you dont get confused which one is the current one, the naming is always clear, and there is no renaming, just symlinks

it could still work with tabs (like one tab for "library" and one for "personal" or whatever), but if the same game would need to be tracked differently in both categories then yeah, separate databases are necessary

I should figure out how to create these symbolic links.

The issue is not technical, but organizational, I want to keep the two lists separate, because the Personal ones can contain various links that have nothing to do with the library.
The idea of naming the folders "f95checker.library" and "f95checker.personal" is good.

Has anyone noticed some issues with "Last Updated" field values lately?

For example, Grandma's House has "Thread Updated" and "Last Edited" of 2025-02-27 and "Release Date" of 2025-02-15, but the field in the tool says 2025-02-26. In the last few update checks I've seen a lot along these lines, which is admittedly very minor. But OTOH Fairy FINDR has "Thread Updated" and "Last Edited" of 2025-02-26 and "Release Date" of 2025-02-25, but the field says 2023-08-04! That's the date of the first post. It's possible this field had never been updated since I added the game, not sure.

It's also possible this isn't a brand new issue. For I guess a few months lately I've been noticing that some games that showed up in the "Updated Games" dialog were pretty far down the list (I sort by the "Last Updated" field), but I didn't investigate. I just assumed the date came from the "Release Date" and that it took a while for a leak to be posted.

In addition to what WhiteVanDaycare said, there's a great tool called that adds entries to the right-click context menu in File Explorer. I've been using it for years. It also allows creation of other types of "links" (hard links and junctions) but just stick to symlinks unless you want to learn the differences. ;)

Edit: And if you decide to go link crazy like me, is a great tool for finding all those links you dropped all over the place. :ROFLMAO:

explained a bit here, still not sure if i want to do anything about it, or what that would be

Seems something is slightly leaking memory over time, since the program commits way more than it should?

On start the commit is at ~800mb

i remove references to things i dont need anymore and they get freed correctly. its just a quirk of windows. when your pc actually needs the ram, it will go and uncommit what it has committed. its not actually in use.

I just want to say THANK YOU for this...

This may allow me to finally close my - checks notes - 253 F95 tabs and 499 bookmarks that I used to keep track of games I've played and want to play.

I only have two suggestions, and I understand if they're just not technically feasible:

- Import the 'comments' value(s) from the F95 bookmarks.
- Import the 'labels' from the F95 bookmarks.

wasnt aware those existed, ill put them on the todo but id say dont wait around for those to start sorting your library, itll be a while before i take a look at it lol
probably a good idea to chip away a few dozen every now and then

Cool! And I understand priorities!

I do have one other suggestion - and perhaps this already exists and I just haven't figured it out yet - the ability to search tags and labels from the search bar at the bottom. I know I can do filters on the right, but I can't quickly jump to a value in the filter drop down by typing a letter as it's interpreted as a search, so if I could do something like:
Code:
tag: creampie
in the search box, it would return all results I've added that have the creampie tag.

that has been on the todo for over a year, and there is a pr open with a implementation for it. im yet to look at it
