Amazing app, I really couldn't imagine every going back to f95 without it!

I do have a few small wishlist items that I'd like to put up for consideration:

- A global timeline that allows me to see all updates and changes (possibly limited to that latest 50 entries if needed)
- The ability to manually mark as "played" without having to link to a a real exe

For the last point, I like tracking last played but rarely find the effort of linking the actual exe saves time. I've experimented with a dummy exe and considered just batch editing the sql file but it'd be nice to just have an option that allows the play button to just record a play event rather than have to link.

Thanks again for all your hard work WillyJL, you're one of my favorite developers!
You can mark a game as "Finished". the checkered flag icon and checkmark spot is for that, the other one (arrow down) is if you have it downloaded.
In case the game receives an update, the checked mark will change, indicating the change.

About the global timeline, I am not sure I understand it. If you mean to have something like "Latest Updates" on the site... I don't really see the need of that as the tool is mostly to have a place to check what your favourite games are doing, if they got an update etc.

Thanks for responding KaosKally, I can see I wasn't very good at explaining myself, my bad.

For the Global Timeline I meant just a merge / combination of each games timeline into one single unified timeline. That way you could check all the events across all games easily, allowing for an overview of what happened recently.

For the finished request, When you launch a game it updates the "Last Launched" field with the current date. It'd be nice to be able to manually update this field without linking an exe and clicking play.

Oh I see and I understand somewhat what you mean. The tool currently just checks periodically for game updates and if there are a few, it will list them one after another. I think the check window is of 6 hours?
And I see you use it as a game launcher as well. I use it just as a well... checker, lol. So at least for me, it will not change the finished tag everytime i launch a game. The only time it will change is when it get's an update.

I actually don't use it as a game launcher and that's my issue, I want to continue not using it as a game launcher but still have that "Last Launched" date field be usable and updated so i can sort based on it (see what I've recently played). I've previously faked it by just having all games point to a dummy exe so when I hit play it does nothing but updates that field but it's a bit of extra work that'd be nice to avoid.

For the timelines, If you go to any one game it has a "Timeline" tab, I'm saying it'd be nice if all those individual timelines could be combined into one big timeline.

Ah that's what you meant, I even forgot about that tab there lol.
And I don't add exe files for the games I have in the checker. That way, when you launch a game and have it marked as Finished, that mark will never change, unless the game received an update.

when it starts saving time is with work in progress games: install once in a folder without version number in its name and link exe, when theres an update you can swap the files in that same folder and the exe is still set.

- A global timeline that allows me to see all updates and changes (possibly limited to that latest 50 entries if needed)
i can see how that would be somewhat useful but not super sure it would be worth the effort, you can always sort the list by last updated and so on

Willy, I have a question. Could we have on the category bar *name, type etc* a new category for status? Imo it would help sort between abandoned and so on. Maybe an Engine one as well?
Just if you think it would be an useful addition.

engine is the type field, i made it long ago and didnt think to separate engines from type (like vn), so the type field represents one of the post prefixes, the cache parser decides which one, so when a game engine is in the post's prefixes it uses that as the type, otherwise it tries to choose the most relevant one eg collection or so on.

(if youre not used to reading code, this is in order of priority top to bottom, first prefix it finds in there it uses that for the game type)
