Sometimes he came back after 6 month of silence. So i would not fullly dismiss this yet. He that with his previous game too.
Hopefully this is not off-topic...Sure, a dev or 2 has left the forum and one has stopped development because of a FEW toxic members. A few out of several hundred thousand? Means that the dev has thin skin to be honest.
they were more than that. he lost them
There is a whole lot of supposition in your post unless you have first hand knowledge of why Perv2k16 abandoned the game I wouldn't be jumping to any conclusions and throwing around blame.Well to be fair working in this business with its predominantly toxic community can take its toll on your health/well-being. If you have the misfortune to be constantly exposed to human trash akin to 4chan or 8chan then it's kinda understandable that not everyone is capable of enduring this for a prolonged period of time.
Whatever happened to Perv2k16 is really sad this game was shaping up rather nicely. I'll miss it for sure.
"Sad to see this game get abandoned, but to be fair to Perv2k16, they only have 98 patrons and unless each one of them is paying $100 a month, they're probably not making much money which is also sad because this game has very high quality renders and an intriguing story and should be making more, but, c'est la vie. "
My man you expect some random guy sitting at home playing with a modelling software and a render engine to get paid 10.000 dollars per month? Have you lost your marbles? Anyone with a decent PC and a basic renpy/RPGM/Java/html knowledge can do these kind of games, go on Daz and buy some pre-made models and sit all day and play with them, and then render images with static backgrounds.
Last but not least. What do you actually expect in terms of patrons when people wait 4 months+ for one update?
Plenty of devs milk the cow with little to no updates for months/years and then suddenly "abandon" their game. This is probably the 30'th game that's now cancelled from my personal list alone. You can't expect to get paid when you don't put out regular content. And another thing is.. If you DO get paid 10 grand and above per month (like some devs do) then it's more than a job! It's more than most of us make after hard working months! There comes a time when the dev must take responsibility to keep the content on tracks and don't come up with excuses. Every one of us have issues in real life. But in a real job people would be sacked/fired after a few weeks on inactivity for FAR LESS than 10 grand a month!!
That being said, people just won't commit to supporting the dev because their money comes from you know hard work ..and it's going to someone that can't update their game in 4 months (in this case). Like throwing money away.
Now for those that play the game for free it's all even. Content or not they are playing for free. They shouldn't be complaining at all. But for patrons it's a whole different story.
Long story short. For 10 GRAND a month you can buy the most powerful consumer available PC and also hire people to do the model work, renders and story for you and still be left with at least 3000 dollars a month (which is more than most of us make per month!!!) and that's just for the first month because after you buy the PC then it's all smooth sales every coming month afterwards. 5-6000 dollars every month. So don't go spreading stories like that ok?
Yeah, we don't know what happened in his personal life. Nobody does. But for your job (cause that's what being a dev on patreon is) there are no excuses. You can get away with some things, but not months of absence in a row.
Thank you for this postBottom line I think it's a personal thing why he stopped and not money. I just reached 100 patrons after 1 year. Some devs like DocPink pushed that after 3rd episode and some after 2nd like HopesGames but it boils down to one thing.
Making the game for the love of it or not. 90% of devs i feel personally do it cause they love making it at first. Then after a while it does become taxing, still you have to do it for the love. ONce it's just money you'll find it hard to convince yourself every day to make the game.
Saying that, for some devs making a game is their only income and may find it hard to find a real life job for whatever reason. We just dont know.
I truly belive Perv loved making his game, but life got in the way. It's a pity for us all, as we all loved playing his vision...
I pray things inprove in his life for the better if it's a personal thing he's going through.
As for patrons, theirs is a blessing. My patrons support RTP and not only me. It's to me mindboggling that people would support RTP/me for something they can get for free, why i value them so much and push hard to give them a VN they can enjoy regularly. But these are only my opinions on the matter.
You can find all information in the OP : Developer/Publisher: Perv2k16What's the company's name? Please help me
CWplease help me guys
i am stuck at a point in the game where i have to enter a password on a computer
the password is a company name "Corrins Lwilson"
each and every time i write it i get the message "wrong Password", it is a loophole.
what is it that i am doing wrong.
First, you should know how the abandoned tag works if a dev is not active on patreon for 3 months the tag will be added, if Perv2k16 was still active and keeping his patrons up to date with the game development it wouldn't have been added if he ever comes back which i hope he does since i like the game myself it will be removed once the thread is updated with a new version. This is abandoned at 3 months, but that other well known one is only OnHold after 1 year? Wondering if that might have an effect on the dev as well, since it's not really fair treatment by this forum...
