I don't think you can ever contact him , but worth trying.
Also if you're serious about continuing this , you should and you could always compensate Ancho in the future i.e if it's profitable for you.
Also the art doesn't need to be 100% copy as long as it resembles the original to a great degree it should be fine.

All the best & I hope you pick it up.
I don't think it's a good idea to condone using other people's IP for profit. That's how we get shady shit like the guy posting this game on Steam. Anyone can say they're willing to pay Ancho if he ever pops up again, but most likely he won't, and we don't know if he would be happy about it. It's a dishonest mindset to justify appropriating IP that isn't yours.

If you're serious about making a game, actually attempt to make your own instead. Don't use an existing, well-liked game as a crutch. If you can't do it without the crutch, what do you expect to be able to bring to the table?

Agreed with the "hands off" Ancho's original game. If you like it that much, you can do an "homage" game. Many games use a basic genre structure to build similar or even better games. Think Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley/etc.

You can use the framework of FV to base your game on but take it to your own direction. This way you respect Ancho while keeping your creative output pure.

He was unfortunately turned into a bird and it's upto us F95zone users to free him and turn him back.
He said that AI was damaging art, so he was discouraged (something like that). But in games there is still a difference between hand drawing and AI. It was not what he thought it would be. Handmade works are still preferred. His art is unique, I hope one day he will come back for the remaining episodes.

It's hard not to see his point though. For decades, people have pushed the starving artist stereotype and lowballed professionals. In general, most people don't value the time and skill investment put into art as you would more conventional skills. Now that AI's come along, many have decided they don't need an artist, they'll just generate "art." Or in some cases, an editor, copywriter, or other related skills. But the thing is, the things AI spits out isn't original content. It's content mimicking whatever it's fed. For example, how many times has someone used AI to replicate Summertime Saga's artstyle alone? Do laws protect content creators against AI media that's obviously using their signature style? Does anyone actually care to try to find out who the original artist is of a piece of art on a t-shirt or a mug or whatever before buying it? Reverse image searches won't tell you what it's copying. You do all the work, and everyone but you reaps the rewards. What's worse, someone might stumble upon your work and write it off as AI without realizing you're the original.

As an artist, how would you feel having to compete with something so soulless and prevalent that it feels like it's 80% of the image results on Google? How much has AI art and writing creeped into commercial products? How do you struggle to stay visible and relevant as a creative professional? It was hard enough before AI came along, but now what? What is the future of art now that it's even harder to make it as an artist? How many prospective artists will now give up the craft because it doesn't seem worth it anymore? The future of art is bleak, my dude.

You are right, but this is something that cannot be prevented anymore. My point was, there are a lot of AI games coming out, but most of them suck. I'm not an artist, I have a different point of view. If it were me, instead of giving up, I would use the AI I trained myself to make sketches. I'm just anybody.

It's true that AI has leapt ahead of copyright protection laws. Not just in the creative arts, though. News sources, such as the major newspapers, have had their articles and content gobbled up by the giant AI/Chat/you name it processes. No one is recompensed. No one is acknowledged.

It took lawsuits by these large companies against the AI firms to finally gain some form of payment and attribution. But who thinks small indie artists and writers have access to similar legal avenues?

AI may indeed mean wonderful and spectacular advancements for humankind, but where is the balance in effort. Moreover, what happens when the creative spark of the individual dwindles and all that is left is regurgitated machine copying? There is a uniqueness to the human mind that seems unlikely to be matched by circuit boards and chips.

Anyone know any games with something similar to the Morgan content? I liked the mix between the wholesomeness and going behind joey's back.

No, but if you like the idea of cucking a cocky little shit out of his harem and his mom, and your demon lord boss who sent you to break up the hero group, Hero Party Must Fall is actually one of the few Netori games with a plot and decent writing.
