Ah thanks Astrel so....they're admitting that reasons for no progress is:
The knock on effects from that though is motivation/passion starts to run dry and you start to avoid the project even subconsciously if bad enough.
The need to release the game would usually limit how bad feature/scope creep can get but in this case they answer to no one but themselves and money is just flowing in. So as Nobis19 said so nothing is stopping them since they haven't realized this themselves or if they have, they have no reason to change as they've gotten lazy and aren't doing anything to change it nor hiding it anymore because money.
- They keep adding more unplanned things to the game which causes more debugging to be needed or everything just is breaking.
- They lose concentration/motivation to work on it for too long.
- They're lazy.
