Yes. This versions ends at the gas station and before Monica meets Dick the lawyer the first time.
DecentMonkey wrote on patreon, that it took quite a lot of time to change the engine. New updates should come a lot faster now. He even wants to release v0.2 at the end of this month or right on beginning of july. So, I guess, he should be able to rework Ep1 in manageable time. Further he said that he developed the story up to Ep3 at the moment. This game really earns it to be kept in mind.

You have to talk to Fred, the driver, in front of the car. He has quite a small hit area. But it works. Talk to him.
