Ren'Py - Fashion Business [Ep.4 v10.00 Extra] [DecentMonkey]

Disgusting characters in a joke of a story which is not only horrible but also is so stupid, I'm sure it'll lower your IQ by several points. Completely linear story progression. Sluggish and terribly designed interface preventing autosaves or going back like we have in other Ren'py games. Pointless animations showing the same scene multiple times from different angles, as if we're supposed to enjoy watching a bunch of animated Daz characters. Very grindy game play which is required to make money and also progress in the story. I honestly can't think of anything good to say about this game. Quite possibly the most annoying game (besides a few mini-games, it's more like a grindy VN) I've ever played on this site. Most definitely not worth downloading 20GB for two "episodes", wouldn't have bothered if I knew it was this bad.

By the way, the so called "story" is basically comprised of a bunch of rape, humiliation and torment scenes mainly focusing on the main character and are connected by a constant chain of blackmail towards the MC and the other relatively "good" characters, by the ones who somehow seem to know everyone and hear everything happening in the city. Even though the MC is presented as a shrewd, ruthless businesswoman, the story doesn't allow her to blackmail anyone, despite presenting numerous opportunities for her to do so throughout the story. The way the game presents the MC as a "bitch who needs punishment" starts to make less and less sense as you meet the other characters in the game world who are much worse, which also makes the torment she has to go through completely unjustifiable. What makes this game even more annoying is that some of the characters seem to have plot armor, they are all inexplicably omniscience for no reason other than to irritate the player. You might find the occasional childish humor funny, but overall, the story is stupid, obnoxious, annoying, depressing and seriously disturbing.

False and misleading tags: sandbox, corruption.

No sandbox: This is by no means a sandbox game as there's no game play involving player creativity or choice. You simply follow through a specific story line and are only given a "do or don't" choice and by declining, you are stuck in a story that doesn't progress and there's no game play there to entertain you.

No corruption: Even though the game seems to track a "corruption" score, it's not used in any way that affects the MC's personality. The MC remains the same as who she was at the beginning, so there's no "corruption" to talk about.

I don't have a *ton* to say about this game. It does what it sets out to do very well, I think. Perhaps the corruption (at least, up to 2.1) is less so corruption than it is someone just doing things out of necessity. I guess it's debatable, but regardless, the whiplash from high status living to very, very low is really well done. The scenes feel maybe a bit too far and few between, but once you reach a certain point after a couple hours they are easily accessible.

The one thing that sticks out most to me is the writing. It is tolerable, but I don't think english is the author's first language, so a lot of dialogue/monologue sounds like anime villains, as they describe things that don't need to be said aloud. It's not the worst, but it is kind of annoying to me personally.

Overall, I think it's worth your time if you're as drawn to corruption tags as I am.

-Sometimes getting into single interaction requires shit ton of work.
-Things develop slowly (altho its not a problem for me, but i still wanted to imply it for the sake of being objective)
-Game is kinda heavy, memory wise, i think. I had crashes every four or five hours of gameplay.
-Some missions could've handled better.

Welp, those are the main bad things about the game. If you can tolerate these the rest of the game is perfect. This game is my 4th favourite on the forum and i played shit ton of games here trust me.

I actually wanted to give it something like 4.5/5 rating but its not possible and i saw people in reviews section said unfair things about the game. This game is not a "VN" its a "Game" if you cant tolerate clicking here and there then check the title first if it has VN tag on it then play it.

10/10 renders and story progress is something of an exotic art. DecentMonkey has been releasing constant updates and I have found no major problems with the game so far. If you like a good story and character progress then this is the game for you, don't know how many people the dev has working on this but the amount of work put into creating this is extraordinary.

I never reviewed anything cause didnt really saw a point in it. Here i can see it. If my post will save just one innocent soul or at least help you prepare for whats to come ill be happy.
Im not going to ignore the obvious - the models, art and renders are beautiful, MC is gorgeous, but thats it really.
I didnt have much problem with the grind everyone talks about, i just didnt really even get to this point. My main problem with this game is its plot, its story. And thats the reason im writing this at all really. Out of nowhere the story gets dark. Oh, boy, it does. Dark and ridiculous. im talking about the prison subplot. Before that everything is fine, kinda stupid but its a porn game, i can live with that. Author trying his best to show us that MC is a bitch, but she's not really, she's just a spoiled child, who doesnt know that her actions can have negative consequences. I'd say she's not evil, just so naive that she lives in her own world. And because of that this sudden deep dark shit is just depressing. You dont have a feeling that "she gets what she deserves", you just feel sorry for her and want to stop her suffering. So, the prison. It was a "make or break" moment in the whole story really, cause its the first time when MC faces the fact that she's not invincible. It was the perfect moment when MC could grow as a person, start to see right from wrong. It was so promising and i thout thats what will happen. It would have been good story even if you take all the porn out of it. But no. Oh, no no no, author have different plans for her. In the "make it or breake it" moment story didnt just broke, it shattered. This whole prison plot gets so ridiculous that i wouldnt be surprised if at some point aliens would come in and start singing about Santa Claus, it makes no sense. And it gets so dark that its no longer a humiliation, its a damn torture. And then all the Marcus and 'farm' shit comes out and thats like... its like Goblin Slayer meets Berserk kind of dark shit out of nowhere casually thrown at your face, except Slayer or Guts will not come to save you. Its just painful to see really. If you dont like to see people suffer better dont try it, i'd say. Im not talking about 'haha i suffer, punish me daddy' shit, its like a real torture, and if youre the kind of person who easily gets immersed in the story like me, you will be tortured with the MC and thats just brutal.

I usually never write reviews but this game deserves one. Haven't even finished it but so far I find it highly entertaining! Well done to the DEV and thanks for putting in so much effort into it! One can clearly see that a lot of thought has been put into this game with love for each plot and the scenes.

Episode 1 is really only the intro and the game starts properly in Episode 2. I really 'hated' (in a good way) the MC in Episode 1 and then started to feel sorry for her in Episode 2 which shows that a character can be well developed over time and doesn't need to be so shallow as is the case in most other games unfortunately.

Yes there are occasional stereotype plots and characters in the game and there is a lot of demeaning behavior from some of the NPCs but it fits so well in this game that I find it never annoying. But then you will find friends in unexpected places. It creates a balance and is relatable given the context of the game. That's how a story should be implemented.

There is an aspect of 'hunger' in the game that I find well implemented. You can turn it off in the menu if you like. It is so well done though when you end up with no cash and need to eat and have to make ends meet no matter what. It literally creates the surroundings and build up in this story organically as a side note. This is much better than most games where some form of background feels forced.

Everything looks and feels HIGH QUALITY!

Sometimes the wait time between screens can be more than in other games but not annoyingly so. Maybe that is a RenPy issue. I like the free roam options that really come into play from Episode 2 as well as the sporadic change of controlling another character in the game. Well done!

Occasionally you have to click 1 or 2 more times to get to a certain location (mostly in MC's house in the basement to change clothes) but I was never annoyed by it. It always makes sense. I think this game is not meant to be rushed through but taking time with it and exploring the various options slowly. The amount of different scenes you can do (e.g. in the 'red light' district) while still exploring other story elements is brilliant!

Yes the story is mostly linear but at the same time you have so many paths to explore and can skip some if you wish. I think it fits and makes perfect sense. The amount of content is INSANE! Really really well done. Some of the NPCs look super ugly but in a good way! It adds so much to the game and makes it much more realistic. Don't worry, there are still more than enough really hot characters. All with their own agendas and schemes. Perfect!

Top implementation. If I could give 10 stars I would. That is why I don't understand some of the low ratings here at all. DEV --> if you are reading this: don't listen to any negative reviews here. None of them are justified in my opinion. Keep going with this great work!

As a tip for players and no spoiler: I would recommend being the biggest b*tch in Episode 1 you can, because it adds so much more depth in Episode 2. Maybe making it slightly harder but also so much more fun! Try this game now. You won't regret it!

EDIT: After some continuation I wanted to add a few more things here for anyone interested: The story does go quite dark (and I am still not even at the end). Most of the humiliation and extreme corruption can be avoided but not all of it. Some of that really isn't my cup of tea because it is just too demeaning and hard to watch if you care about the MC . It goes way beyond sex I guess and includes harsh punishments and exploitation .

Some of the NPCs are seriously cruel and vile in their behavior. Makes you wonder if (and that is probably and unfortunately a 'yes') that stuff happens in the real world. How sad.

Again, this isn't my thing. Some people might be into that sort of stuff (as long as it is just game fantasy and not in reality!!).

However for the evident effort and hard work on this game I am still sticking with 5*, giving the DEV credit for the work done and achieving a very solid sandbox game with many subplots and beautiful renders. This is unlike most other games in this genre as there really is a ton of content here to explore.

The graphics used are truly excellent. They are doing a very good work. The plot is intense right from the start. The characters well characterized. But it's really repetitive, to unlock something new you have to do the same actions 40 times and size starts to be a problem.

Requires way too many clicks for a simple interaction, turns into a grindfest real quick because you end up just trying to click through as many menus and submenus as possible. The dialogue is also incredibly stupid, and nothing about it makes sense.

This is the game to play when you hate the world and want to see everyone punished, yourself included. There are no likable characters, if they aren't evil predators they are pawns in service of such. Story choices determine if you have a bad ending, or suffer humiliation on the way to that bad ending. The map is pointless since the story is linear. Much of the story hinges on MC's vanity, most other character renders are plastic surgery disasters with oddly angular heads. That said, it's fun to watch bad things happen to bad people and this game lets you do just that.

This game is something of a mix, with much that is unique. It has an assertive, interesting female protagonist, which most games here lack. It has top notch graphics in unanimated scenes. It has a far more interesting plot than most games here, and more interesting characters. The developer has probably the best schedule and productivity in this business.

This is somewhat counterbalanced by some factors. The unanimated scenes are much more sexy than most of the animated ones. Much of the sex may feel bad if you want both parties to enjoy it. Considerable repetition of routine scenes is required to complete much of the plot. This latter problem could be solved by adding more spontaneity and randomness in the events, but the RenPy medium makes that very difficult to do.

This game is worst vn on this site why you say simple the grind, you have 2 meters that you have to fill a corrupted and a bitchiness meter the bitchiness meter when it's fill means you will not see any sex scenes in the game which is why is that even a thing the other is corruption meter the grind for the first couple of hours is the worst of any bad korron mmo i have played to get the meter filled a bit in the began of the game you have to go to the food guy our do be a maid in clean our you can steel the problem is that you get like 1 point in there is about i think 1000 points you have to get earn and that's not even the worst part of the game the characters and story is know it's a porn game but man do the characters suck the main character is meh and the other characters are the worst julla started out ok but once you go out with her she does a 180 in turns in to all the other peves and rapist in the game the models and the sex sncess are ok it's clear the dev puts alot time into them they get better with each update still there not the best I every seen but there ok the models are ok to but alot of the characters have this wired laugh that they do which makes the models look bad. the writing for this game is very laughable she was a rich bitch that had a empire would have been great to have her do what she wanted to other chartartes but nope you get blackmailed and raped by all the characters the only way to play this game is with the gallay mod that makes you skip all the lame grind of this game I would stay fall away from this game if you tell the dev game is to grindly you get called a troll and he reports you he kind of sniffs her own farts the game has a lot of bugs which is casued by the sand box there is 0 resson for this game to be sand box out side of the dev makeing the play time even lonnger but hs would get a 0/10 from me

Everything I'm looking for in a nsfw game! It's just perfect. It's so fun to be a bitchy boss and so hot to watch her fall and become more and more corrupted. I especially love the Office and Falling stoylines. Really looking forward to future updates!

I will start with the positives. The game is an alright corruption game with a female protagonist, who doesn't become a complete slut after sucking 2 dicks, so to some degree its a bit of a change from the usual. It makes the stuff she does carry a bit more weight and adds a bit to the humiliation. The art is good and so are the scenes although none of em really blew my mind.

As for the negatives...well everything else basically. One of my biggest gripes is that Monica is supposed to be this annoying rich bitch and you're kinda there to see her fall from grace and she's suffering because she's entitled etc., BUT every goddamn character in the game is the same or worse. Every character in the game will use even the slightest advantage/upper hand to blackmail for sexual gain without any consequence or remorse. Random people on the street will offer like 2 dollars to see your tits and any slight favor will warrant a blow job or something similar. This makes Monica completely normal for the world she lives in, so her being a spoiled rich bitch is completely pointless since everyone is a spoiled entitled asshole as well.

Second, i said Monica isn't the typical female protagonist, which is true, but that doesn't mean much. She does completely retarded stuff, the only difference is that she doesn't like it. Her internal monologue is always the same, shock, disgust then she does it, "what have i become" and then at the end she gets angry and promises revenge. Whatever.

Third, the gameplay is tedious as fuck. Its like the dev made it annoying on purpose. There's also no scene gallery, so you have to use a mod, which doesn't have all the scenes in, which again is annoying as fuck.

Forth, the story is just nonsense. I don't even understand why the game is called Fashion Business, since it has so little to do with it. I guess the idea started with the casting trope and a photo shoot, but that's about it. It really doesn't help that the game just doesn't take place in this reality. The characters are so unbelievable and the stuff happening to her are so dumb sometimes its really hard to suspend disbelief. I know its a porn game and we're all here to fap, but when i can show a guy my tits for like 2 dollars and then let him grope "me" for 5.... when Monica is supposed to be this hotshot boss, that should be at least a bit capable, you kinda go "yeah sure". Don't even get me started on the whole Marcus thing and some of the subplots go into insane directions.

Fifth and last, i don't understand why all the male's in this game (sans one) are so goddamn ugly. Is this a kink thing or what, but it made the game so much worse.

I think the nonsense story will just spiral more and more out of control as new updates get released.

The graphics are pretty good, everything else is horrible.
The game is slow as hell, you have to grind and grind again, the plot is lazy, and the UI is so bad.
Every little thing you have to do takes so much time because you have to wait a day in the week, but you have to eat, but you have to change your clothes, but you have to go to a precise location, but you have to go talk with another character before, but you don't have enough money, but you have to change your clothes again,...
And after you go through all of this trouble, the sex scenes you get once every 5 hours are boring.

Let me start with saying that I very rarely write any reviews, so this is only the second time I write a review of a game at all, of any sort. But I feel I have to, the game is so good and it has given me so much satisfaction… Of the 100+ adult games I have played hitherto, this certainly belongs to the top five, perhaps even in the very top. It has so many unexpected and quite extreme scenes that I much to my own surprise find very arousing. That is how good the game is.

So what is to like? A very beautiful, sexy, and very selfish female protagonist that thankfully is not that supersize breasted and superhorny stereotype that is so common in adult games. Her indifference or even aversion to sex is a real turn-on. The sometimes quite ugly guys just add to her humiliation, even though she herself doesn’t really care about guy’s looks, the are all ugly in her book.

The outstanding rendering of places and characters, the great animations, with such great detail. The scenes are extraordinary and the humiliation and difficult choises are very arousing, along with the music and sound effects. The photoshoots, danceshows, bar grouping, the extorsions by her ”best friend and Bardie, jail training…, just wow.

The gameplay is great, with very little grinding in my mind, and what I especially like is that one really doesn’t need a guide, the dialogues are in most cases entirely sufficient to guide you. It is just to play along. But nevetheless, there is a very good guide on DM’s homepage that one can check if stucked or to ensure that all scenes are covered. Surely, there are some (yet unfinished) forks, but there are clear warnings in the dialogue and with the proper saves that shouldn’t be an issue.

The story that takes so many unexpected, and very sexy, turns. It is a quite dark but very arouising world the developer has created to immerse in.

The developer show an extraordinary fast, productive and regular output, so...even though I know DM has left this site: thank you so much, for this amazing game, and please keep developing it for many years to come!

Pros:

Cons:

-Can't forward text and there's no option in the game, had to use unren
-Few unnecessary clicks to get where you want, like if you want to go the office, you have to first click in the building and then in the elevator, nothing happens in those places, could as well be removed and save some time
-Some hints for the quests could be clear
-Could use more repeatable fetish scenes

A game heavily invested in the fetishes of female humiliation and degradation. No positive emotions to be found within. Every character in this game is a horrible person. This is not a criticism, just a warning. If you have a tendency to impacted by negative emotion, avoid it.

THE GOOD:

• Beautiful art and settings, better than the vast majority of adult games.
• Somewhat internally consistent characters.
• Very attractive characters.
• Interesting world.

THE BAD:

• Open world as a disguise for linearity.
• Frustrating mechanics are that masquerade for gameplay (house cleaning and kebab job).
• Gamebreaking bugs.
• Dialogue continuously arbitrarily interrupted for no reason in order to make you click.
• Sex scenes suck despite high quality animations, due to the baffling decision not to loop the animation. You watch the characters jerk once from each angle and then become completely still.

I reckon this could be good when it becomes a bit more fleshed out. For now, it is a grueling humiliation revenge porn simulator which banks primary on misogyny and confuses mundanity for gameplay.

Someone should really make a visual novel version of this, cutting out all the crap and the stupid dialogue interruptions.

This one is a mixed bag, full of suprises and annoynances.

You play as Monica, an arrogant bitch and head of an fashion magazine.

Ep 1 is basicly a prolog with a few choices to determine your stats for Chapter 2. You also can adjust them right at the start of chapter 2, so there is no actual need to sit trough Ep1 if you are not interested. It has a few good scenes tho. No Rating for Chapter 1.

Chapter 2 : This is the actual game, with free roam elements.

Good: The art, as you can probably see. Pretty good renders overall pretty neat.

Writing: You can play in 3 different languages. Some typos here and there but overall pretty good.

Story: Monica wants to get her Power back but ends up in a Blackmail /consensual Rape scenario. She actually never got raped as far as i remember but she(the player) says yes because of her desperate need for money. It is avarage, somewaht interesting but nothin mind blowing.

Gameplay: You click mostly in the UI, swtitch places, do your chrores, earn money, go serving tables and more. Good is that you can click nearly every object that you see, the bad is, it basicly never does anything. I call it clickable decoration. Makes the world feel more real at first but makes the game feel empty, becauseit is not needed to click this stuff.

The thing that bothers me ( and the reason for 4 stars) :

It got that juicy "Corruption" path and thats why I usually play these games.
The thing is, even if you get her Corruption stat at maximum, she stays this bitch. This annoying over the top bitch. Her thaughts are always something like" I will kill this dipshit, when i got my power back" blah blah. It basicly doesn't even feel like shes corrupted, not in the slightest. It is the same Monica from Ep 1. No character Changes wahtsoever. It basicly just opens new ways to get blackmailed or get money. Hell she doesn't even has orgasms or masturbate. In every other game, she would atleast enjoy it a bit by now. But not here. We basicly can watch monica getting pressured in doing stuff but we never see her opening up a bit more to the stuff she does. Even during a lesbian scene where monica gets eaten out and starts to slightly feel good she justinterrupts it and says stop. This is such a huge letdown, since she deserves to drown in her pleasure until she forgets about her goals, atleast in the corruption route.

My hopes for the future: Let her experience some pleasure, give her oppurtunitys to cum and make her drown in pleasure.

Oh and, grinding:
It is too much, espcially the stripping part on the streets. At the beginning it is fun, but after like 40 repetitions with the same dudes, it just feels like a chore, especially because you can only flash 3 per day. Same with the table serving scenes, you can talk to 3 costumers per shift. So you just repeat this over and over again.
It is not terrible but, it could be easily possible to talk to everyone in the bar and just increase your pay for that.
Stripping and fotoshoots are also a bit annoying.

TL: DR: Pretty Long (Many scenes), filled with unnecessary Clicking and grinding. No Glimpses of actual corruption so far. Still worth a playtrough if you got about 8 hours left.

One of the greatest game out there. It has a slow corruption(but much more realistic compare to other games) and great graphics. Animations are top notch too. You should start with chapter 1 ues there is not much sex scenes in it but story is great so dont miss out abything. Add it to your list this is a must play.

Technically, this is one of the worst game I've played. This is due to the terrible design decisions and poor use of the Renpy engine.
This ends up in lackluster experience, with repetitive and awful gameplay that ends up feeling like a chore.

It's a shame as the renders are pretty good. The models are nice and body proportions rather reasonable. The story isn't very original but well developed with multiple paths possible. However those are ruined when it is so painful and annoying to get through the game, I didn't want to go throught any of it again.
I had previously played the first chapter and gave up because of the same reasons so it was disappointing to see this chapter 2 had all of the same issues.

If you can put up with hours of your time being wasted because of bad design, you may find something good in here. For others, you may pass.
