Well that's not all he was saying. He also pointed out complaining on F95 will not effect anything, as the Female Agent supporters have their reasons to keep paying. Keep in mind, we don't know the Patreon turnover rate either, it could be as high as 50% of his subs are totally new every month. How many thousands start playing Female Agent for the very first time every month? Either way, the pattern for quality games is they receive high support for years even after no updates. Those that don't are very rare exceptions. If you want another example - The Good Son. No update in two years, support down maybe 25% from highs.
I don't agree on this. Some
So you paid nothing but are angry that you didn't get to steal and play their game for free.

I'm not angry they didn't release a game update on a deadline. They've been doing this for literally years. I'll pay for it and play whenever they release it, which I expect will be soon.

Cry more, Ree2-D2.
I will just post this.

In a few weeks come back telling me for the 3rd consecutive (few weeks) time that Crush will release (in a few weeks) the update you promised for the (now) 4th consecutive time.

Go pay for an update that (most likely) will be like the 3 last uptades where Crush scrapped the game (2) times and introduced the fascinating world of make up and .... i think that's all.

And since you like being lied and scammed go suck the Top Gun protagonist member so he accepts you into scientology church.

Crush has surfaced on Patreon - here is what he said.

Hey guys, I'm very sorry for the long radio silence. I've been working non-stop on the game, but I needed some time to work and experiment alone on something important.
I know that “going dark” was really shitty and unprofessional, and you guys have every right to be pissed off with me. The truth is that sometimes – when things are creatively difficult, and I’m feeling like shit – I let the stress and doubt and haters get on top of me, and I feel like I need to just fuck off and fix everything before I can show my face again.
I knew it was the wrong thing to do even while I was doing it (which just added to my negative emotional spiral), but I did it anyway, because I didn’t have the mental bandwidth or emotional energy to be the crab you deserve. I'm sorry and ashamed for handling the stress so badly.

Progress report
I’ve been busy finishing the entire Lifepath in the game engine. This was originally planned to be spread over four separate releases, but I realised that (A) it was taking too long to make and (B) it wasn’t turning out like I wanted.
The point of Female Agent has always been to make the game I wanted to play: an RPG with a highly customisable heroine, who alternates between kicking and showing some ass to get through the main quest.
Starting a new game shouldn’t be the long, intricate grind it was becoming – the Lifepath I want to play is a fun, highly interactive character creator, where I get to create and customise an aristocratic English rose or an all-American cheerleader with a unique backstory the game will reference later, stick her in MI6 or the CIA, then call her in for a meeting and tell her that she’s trading in her business suit and laptop for a thong and high heels to go undercover.
So I sealed myself away and did some absolutely brutal redesign work (which will shortly go out to testers for feedback). So the next release will be the entire Lifepath, i.e. the next release will be the previously planned four releases, all rolled into one, and I think it’ll make the early game much more replayable and better paced.

Next steps
Now I have clarity and my idea for a redesigned Lifepath is now finished and working in the engine. I need to push that out to testers for feedback and improvement, and of course there will be new artwork required from lovely Victoria. So my next step is going to be detailed comms with V and testers. We’ll aim to get the entire Lifepath to you as soon as possible.
Again I’m really, sincerely sorry for the radio silence. It was unprofessional of me and I’m going to make up for it with better comms and a better game for everybody.
❤‍

(but for real, trimming the lifepath thing from the fat and getting it all done is genuinely decent news. He's pretty close to an epiphany how it'd work even better if it was a simple, short and sweet setup in a few questions... but maybe he'll get there eventually, too)

As many of us suspected, Crush scrapped what he was working on for a year because "it wasn't hot enough." Good Christ.

And the nerve of that man, talking about "haters" when what was happening was mostly subscribers asking what was taking so long. What a little bitch.

And I predict that whatever awakening was beginning to happen on the discord will now be shouted down into silence by his most devout screaming, “SEE, SEE!!!! God is real and he has returned to us!! All of you doubters are going to hell!!!”

Nah... 'trimming the fat' only works if there actually is some fat. At the moment, he's been paid tens of thousands of dollars to produce nothing and he has nothing to show for it: Not a demo of the lifepath, not a single scene.

He'll have been sitting there for about a month thinking 'Shit... I've got to tell these people something' and that's the best excuse he's come up with. He's turned the corner so many times that at this point people are just paying to watch him spin on the spot.

Let me get it right; He didn't do anythign because he was stressed because people asked what the hell was he doing past 6 months... then said he wasn't "happy" with how development was going so he (again) scrapped the update and the next update will be in reality what he was going to do for the last update he planned half a year a go.

So now we will have a (possible) new update with no scheduled date where we will have a new early game but the history remains untouched.

Why i decided to have a normal job and not be Crush lmao.....

That's actually massive news. This game has been in development since ... what? ... 2017 and in 2025, lo and behold, we finally get a build which integrates the life path with Bangkok, so it's possible to take your heroine from her birth to the topless cafe.

I wonder what's the catch? I'm guessing he will massively scale down on implementing a skill system that will have any effect on the game and just deliver a life path which is mainly text and some cosmetic changes like the hair colour selector he was so excited about some months ago.

Nah... 'trimming the fat' only works if there actually is some fat. At the moment, he's been paid tens of thousands of dollars to produce nothing and he has nothing to show for it: Not a demo of the life path, not a single scene.
Actually, he's got a complete life path written out: this is for the version with the old avatar that was scrapped ages ago. It didn't have Bangkok, but it did allow you to follow Kate from childhood through uni to getting recruited and trained by the intelligence agency.

With some edits and 'trimming the fat', it should take a competent developer a maximum of a few weeks to make the old version compatible with the newer one. I'm guessing that's what Crush will do after wasting months on doing who knows what...

I really don't get this aggression people have going on around here. :(

I'm a *huge* fan of FA. The sheer quality of that game in almost every way surpasses basically every other adult HTML game I've played. But over a year with no progress is too long. I won't comment on the history since I just don't know, I barely started playing these a year ago. But I did just recently cancel my sub because of this.

But there's really no need for ppl to get angry & personal like this. Indecisiveness, procrastination, coming up with excuses for yourself and others while desperately hoping - even believing - to make some progress... only to always fall short? Those are highly typical signs of things like depression. As is the guilt that always follows it. You'd think most had at least some experience of that, personal or otherwise?

This isn't about making excuses either. Being unsatisfied with their progress and putting your money elsewhere, yet feeling empathy for Crush and wishing them the best aren't mutually exclusive things. There's no need to resort to abusive insults and name-calling over it. Even those who truly believe they're just grifting for money, 1 eur a month doesn't make it feel likely and wouldn't be worth getting all that upset over even if it was. If you can't be sure, wouldn't you rather just assume the best of someone instead of the worst when it costs you nothing either way?

Stop paying, express your sympathies, move on. <3

Those things are also symptoms of severe porn addiction... go figure. Crush is an adult, an adult thats been paid to write a game. simple as. Either way I only come here cause I get notifications from the replies, I don't even know that I'll play whatever update may or may not come out. As far as this being the best html game thats not really a high bar to meet considering 99% of them get abandoned and the remaining 1% are written by 90iq incest fetishists. As far as it being the best written of all time I'd say within your eyes by alahria is an example of a better written game imo. The writing for this game is good but I feel a lot of people overrate it because it hasn't been (officially) abandoned yet.

No no, you see, he technically isn't being paid to write a game.

He writes a game, shares the progress, and coincidentally has a convenient method for people to charitably donate to him as a person. And because he's so nice, he also charitably decides to reward the people that donate to him with some perks.

It's just like pachinko in Japan, it's totally not gambling, you just exchange money to play an enticing game that might charitably offer token rewards. Having a place nearby that will coincidentally exchange those tokens for money is just that, a coincidence.

(I'm just putting it out there because someone will mention it unironically sooner rather than later)

Sure, sure. It's an endless cycle from this dev going back years. Lots of hype, big ideas & excitement, followed by abject moaning, lack of execution, blame shifting & pleading for understanding.

"I'll do better baby if you just give me one more chance...It'll be different this time, I swear. No one loves you more than me..." and the Patrons cream their panties once again in a virtual reenactment of battered woman syndrome.

Rinse & repeat ad nauseam. Note that the dev is never too withdrawn, depressed or frazzled to pause Patreon billing. You know, the way reputable developers do, because that would defeat the whole object of this dance.

Personally I have no sympathy and feel no empathy. Too many years of restarts, rewrites, planning etc without ever getting to the heart of the game. And I don't see anything in this latest Patreon cringefest to think that will change.

I didn't promise you shit. You also didn't pay for shit, which I think devalues your opinion.

I think I'm pretty accurate at predicting what will happen based on the years I've been following this game.

I said:

Probably push an update just after billing cycle in late January. Something, something beta test feedback, pretty picture. Then slack for six months... Return to Bangkok in mid 2027 when patreons get bored. No, really.

Some people are so desperate to play this, their one game for life, they appear to think I am the game developer because I just don't hate the developer / just want them to do better, lol.

No idea why you're alluding to sucking Tom Cruise's or an F-14's dick. I can only imagine you're projecting, leaking your shameful thoughts. Enjoy... good for you, I guess!

It's 90% toxic in this thread because people love the game so much... want to play what the developer creates too much... they began to hate the developer, their success, (but not their precious game).

They think they are fans. In their collective mind, there's no higher praise than to hate.

Save yourself! I'm not stuck in here with them. They're stuck in here with me, one who still enjoys discussing this game.
