Oh dang, I didn't know that! That game had so much promise, I'm delighted to see where it goes.
It seems the tortoise dozed off mid-race, while the snail kept returning to the starting line, simply because he didn’t find his own crawl sexy enough.
Lobster actually completed his other game (which as I understand it, had been his focus over Girl Spy anyways). So he actually did have something to show for the hiatus of Girl Spy, even if it wasn't in that game itself.

As I recall, he did the opening bit of Girl Spy just for shits and giggles, almost to show how fast such a story could be produced. I'm not sure he ever intended to do more than that first chunk until recently.

He didn't, it was meant to be a joke. But it got so popular and so many people kept requesting more, he finally relented and said he will work on it.

There are a lot of versions of this game. I tried the oldest available online one and it has more content than the latest version. But was there ever a version which actually progressed beyond the training section and made it to the real story, where she goes to Thailand?
I don't think technically it is abandoned, it's just that the dev has taken so long to release anything (he claims he's still working on it) that they have to mark it abandoned. We'll probably get some new version where he re-worked the first passage in about seven monthsSuch a shame this is abandoned.

This sums up everything I hate about Crushstation in a single sentence. NO ONE CARES ABOUT THIS SHIT! We just want a game. With content. That we can fap to. That's it. It doesn't need to be the best thing ever written. It doesn't need to be super meaningful. You don't need to put yourself into every character's head and be able to embody them personally. If you can't write good sex scenes, THEN HIRE A FUCKING WRITER. Just fucking advance the story and add new scenes. That's all anybody wants. This perfectionist, angst ridden, tortured artist bullshit is exactly why I stopped backing the game two years ago. It's a porn game. It's not that deep.
