he probably stopped developing the game in 2023-11-24, but at least, he is still writing his blog, about a fictional game developer developing a fictional game lol ... and yes, this is way more effort, than a lot of other dev's invest, for scaming there patrons.

In the fan remake/fan changed Renpy version I am currently slowly working on, I just wanted to get some input on the "make-up/clothes" thing.

My initial thought was that Kate (read developer, me, in this case) selects her make-up and clothes before any "date/cafe day". That is easy if everyone trusts I am good enough to select for you :). In later stages that especially comes into play regarding her underwear in the Hard Cock Cafe. She would use different ones for every day (she cannot be washing them every day!?!) for example...

But my second thought is that it might be better to maybe have a "poll" so more people might have a say in her appearance. Maybe not for every day in the Cafe, but for the important ones? Eye-liners, shadows, lipstick, nails and clothes etc.

The third way is of course to implement the complicated choice system that is in the web version, but it might be too time consuming for what is might return.

What would you prefer?
Imo player choice is the point. It's not about whether you are good enough to select those or not, bc you can't be. No-one can.

It's about player / character expression. And besides personal tastes, different make-ups go with different dresses, moods, events, whatever message you feel like sending (or not), etc. much more. Customization & fluff is absolutely essential to me at least. :giggle: I mean it's prolly a neurodivergent thing but if I feel a total disconnect from my character - like skrillex/side-cut or bald hairtyles, 'bimbo' make-up, exceedingly stupid or obnoxious & toxic personality, male -, then I can't play at all so won't even bother trying. Customization is basically just an immersion bar we can tune to our liking.

I don't mean to judge ofc, I get that sometimes you gotta compromise. I can't even imagine the technical difficulties involved with all those customization choices.

Allow me to illustrate with a personal anecdote. When I was young (like 18 or something), after a heavy night out my girlfriend was in my bed, and my best buddy had crashed out on the floor beside us. She and I got frisky, we realised my buddy wasn't asleep but we didn't really care, and me and my buddy ended up double teaming the little slut
it was absurdly hot.
Glad to see that Crush has moved on from using his "transparency reports" to just say a whole lot of nothing, and has now moved on to making up sex stories about himself and degrading his fictional past girlfriends for no reason.

How much you wanna bet "Kate" is just based on some girl he went to high school with that never returned his affection

Yup, the fake sex story plus his claim that he wrote "12,897" words for one scene made the update some of his best fiction writing in years. If it were true, that would be the equivalent of roughly 30 pages of text, which would be decent output for a professional writer. We all know Crush isn't close to being that. At this point he is really just taking the piss out of his supporters on a weekly basis.

I'm going to bet the 12897 words is "real". But he's doing something misleading that he did a long time ago: He's counting code (which is largely autogenerated in Sugarcube) as words, because all he's doing is using the word count in his preferred text editor. Just to illustrate, take this passage:

Food comes, wine and conversation flow. It's a lovely dinner.

He's so funny, and mature, and engaging: you're having a much better time with him than you do on dates with guys your own age. There's something so stimulating about how fast he thinks, and how much he knows.

//It would be nice to do this more,// you muse contentedly as you finish your second glass of <<if $temp.wineChoice == "white">>cold Chardonnay<<else>>fruity Merlot<</if>>. //Really nice.//

<div id="dice-rolled">/*This will be replaced after the roll*/
<<nobr>><div class="diceResultBox">/*This div is the dice box*/
<div class="diceResultBoxHeader">/*Dicebox header*/
<<dice-showDiceImage "d10">> /*Either "d10", "d8", "d6" or "d4" -> To show correct dice image*/
<h3>RESIST SEDUCTION CHECK</h3>
<hr>
</div>
<div class="diceResultBoxText">/*Dicebox Text*/
Roll to avoid being swept off your feet. You need to roll <b>_diceRollTarget or higher</b> with <<if _finalDiceRollModifier gte 0>><b>1d10+_finalDiceRollModifier</b><<else>><b>1d10_finalDiceRollModifier</b> <</if>> to succeed.

<div id="dice-explanation" style="padding-top:2%; padding-bottom:5%">
<i><<link "[Why?]">>/*Why modifier link, will replace "dice-explanation" with the widget*/
<<replace '#dice-explanation'>>
<<dice-showModifiers>>
<</replace>>
<</link>></i>
</div>

<<set _buttonText to "<b><i>RESIST SEDUCTION</i></b>">>
<<button _buttonText>>/*Roll the dice button*/
<<rollDice _diceDisplay>>
<<replace '#dice-rolled'>>/*everything between START REPLACE and STOP REPLACE will be shown in the place of "dice-rolled" at the top, so we need a second identical box */
/*START REPLACE*/
These are, in theory, 295 words.

What happens if you replace the code and comments?

Roll to avoid being swept off your feet. You need to roll (number) or higher to succeed.

"[Why?]"
99 words.

Is all of the code autogenerated? No, the comments are obviously put manually. But I think we can all agree, counting "words of text" and "words of code" in the same metric is, quite literally, comparing apples and oranges.

he didn't tell you the rest of the story?

he found out the next morning that he did too many hard drugs that night, his friend never slept over and he actually had sex with his girlfriends dog.

anyway weird that crush is telling stories of himself, seems like a bad idea professionally and also for maintaining a stable image.. but i guess his image deteriorated long ago.

He didn't find his girlfriend "hot enought" so he did the dog?

Yeah that's true but can't the people that give money to these scammers realize what's going on and pull out? Not my place to tell anyone what to do with their money but there are games like corruption of champions and trials in endless space, that while they are not the same type of games, they are way better

It's kind of like when you give money to a drunken bum in the street. You don't expect the bum to change his ways- you figure you are probably not making a difference and may even be enabling bad behaviour- but you feel good about yourself and at the end of the day that's all that matters.
