Yeah that's true but can't the people that give money to these scammers realize what's going on and pull out? Not my place to tell anyone what to do with their money but there are games like corruption of champions and trials in endless space, that while they are not the same type of games, they are way better
I'm not a Patreon supporter of his (far from it) but I am on his Discord page. The true believers over there have really drunk the Kool-Aid. They keep telling him that there's no rush to actually, you know, produce anything. I think they would be perfectly content to keep supporting him forever even if he never releases another game update. They want to be bilked.

I think you guys are forgetting that $1 currently gives you access to the full paid version of the game, and since they haven't released anything in a long time, the other tiers don't matter as much... and a dollar a month is nothing in 2025.

I discovered this a little over two months ago and played the online version of this thread using the link in the first post (which was not the latest version, I don't know if they fixed the link) and spent between 10 and 15 hours playing in my spare time over 3 days in a row (y).

I quite liked it, despite some bad images and the many placeholders it has, I don't know.... I think I liked the dice roll for some decisions and being able to choose the way you dress (which is only cosmetic as nothing is ever said about it). I also liked the speed and simplicity in creating the character.

So for a buck the three new features were: able to choose the size of bigger breasts (doesn't matter to me), the ability to go back a screen (which is great to try rolls that fail or hit with a 10% chance and see what happens in those cases), and being able to choose two or all three kinks at the start instead of just one like in the free version.

Perhaps because so little time has passed for me I am not as disillusioned as the people who have been without content since the end of 2023, but yes, it makes me angry that he's not working on continuing the Bangkok story, but well... for me it was worth it for the full run I did.

That's great, but Crush takes in over $5k per month, which is quite a lot of dollars. In exchange, his supporters get a Patreon blog with some cute pictures and weekly mumbo jumbo where he pretends to be working 24 hours a day on the game. Try not to get too angry about the lack of progress. It's been like that for 8 years and as long as Crush can keep generating massive revenue for doing nothing substantial, the situation will not change.

there was a version of the game that was good many years ago now then they gutted all of it and started over with a new UI and it was a massive loss
the old version you played out the characters life from childhood to school to college to recruitment in intelligence to some of your first years working in intelligence then the game ended right at the titular bankok assignment
but there was so much character choice and rp and replayablity in that earlier part and they lost all of it
i used to check back once in a while to see if it ever got better and it never did

You're in luck! Crush has spent the last year and a half (soon to be at least two years) adding a different version of all that stuff back in. Assuming he ever actually releases it, it will move the game back to where it was before he took it all out. He's running to stand still.

yeah. if you find way how to reason them you can cure all addictions and naivity,

Imo player choice is the point. It's not about whether you are good enough to select those or not, bc you can't be. No-one can.

It's about player / character expression. And besides personal tastes, different make-ups go with different dresses, moods, events, whatever message you feel like sending (or not), etc. much more. Customization & fluff is absolutely essential to me at least. :giggle: I mean it's prolly a neurodivergent thing but if I feel a total disconnect from my character - like skrillex/side-cut or bald hairtyles, 'bimbo' make-up, exceedingly stupid or obnoxious & toxic personality, male -, then I can't play at all so won't even bother trying. Customization is basically just an immersion bar we can tune to our liking.

I don't mean to judge ofc, I get that sometimes you gotta compromise. I can't even imagine the technical difficulties involved with all those customization choices.
Yeah, that would be great to implement. But as you said, it's quite challenging coding-wise. Storing a choice is probably the easier part of it. The harder part is that I would need to load a layered image based on those stored choices AND keep tabs on what the next action might do to those choices.

There might already be "systems" for that but I haven't read up on how that would work. And the GUI for clothes choices will be really challenging and almost a special "dress-up system/game" in itself.

I think initially I will just take the easy approach and act God and select for you. She will have medium boobs, no tattoos etc just to make it simple. We can then make it more complicated later on.

I didn't expect it to be so long since the last update. The author feels like he's been standing still on Discord.

Further adventures in Discordia:

Professional game dev/writer Crush has spent the last year and a half rewriting the intro to the game for the 3rd time, which he supposedly finished in January, and he is now on Discord begging supporters for ideas. The dude is just desperate at this point.

Oh no, I think you got it the wrong way around. He's way smarter than he seems.

What is the best excuse he could come up with for the next 2+ weeks? "It's not sexy enough" gets old.

How about something like: "After a fruitful discussion with some supporters, I realized the lifepath that I have wouldn't be able to support the Kate that many have in mind. Therefore, I need to rewrite some parts. See ya in one month, or one year, who cares"

I can't argue with your logic, which is flawless. You are probably right that it's just another delay tactic to keep supporters on the hook. Once a scammer always a scammer I guess.

Thank you Vibesy for the red arrow, I wouldn't have been able to understand who's who without it.

Other than that stupid joke I have nothing to say. It was clear a long time ago that Crush isn't interested in delivering a finished product, he much enjoys the developing process and people are willing to fund it.

You're welcome! I was gonna do a circle but I'm not that competent so I went for the arrow. Just trying to save everyone's time as they make the rounds checking up on the latest AVN breaking news!

Maybe start a blog about it. You can detail the struggles of getting the circle tool to work for at least 3-4 months if Crush is anything to go by.

That would undoubtedly make for some fascinating reading, but I really want to help Crush out first by submitting my Kate head canon. I'm hesitating between the version where as an aristocratic but rebellious, non-conformist high school geek, she runs away to ride the rails with a loveable band of vegan hobo body painters before joining the circus as an apprentice sword swallower, or the version where she was temporarily raised by wolves after wandering off at a very young age from an anime convention (she comes from a long line of cosplayers), before falling in with a hedonistic group of gypsy nomads who teach her pickpocketing but also flamenco dancing, bare knuckle nude boxing and other life skills.

In both cases she loses her virginity in the back of a bread delivery truck with a breadman named Randy who is actually a CIA/MI6 agent on an undercover mission to take down a dirty bomb smuggling operation via imported Russian wheat (gotta limit the branching here or Crush will never finish the game). Randy's predilection for oral/femdom/spanking/spooning (depends on dice roll) has a major, lifelong impact on Kate who also develops a minor paraphilia related to baked goods. Thankfully Randy continues to watch over Kate from the shadows, setting her on the path to secret agenthood many years later (after the mandatory gap year that is required in all spy stories).

Naturally both versions give her lots of experience points useful for dismantling Asian criminal networks and international terrorist sleeper cells, so you can imagine it's a pretty tough choice.

Here's my Kate canon:
Kate’s story began, as all great tales do, under a creaking staircase in a manor where even the dust had its own agenda. In that dim, cobwebbed nook, fate decided to play a peculiar trick: a jagged lightning scar was branded across her forehead—an accidental doodle by destiny itself. The mark hinted at fantastic misadventures yet to come, leaving onlookers to wonder if she was destined for greatness or perhaps a career in interpretive dance.

Life in the manor was hardly a comforting fairy tale, especially with her wicked stepsisters at the helm of chaos. Obsessed with their glass footwear—noisy, treacherously fragile, and utterly impractical—they paraded around as if each precarious step were a declaration of high fashion. Their relentless fixation with these dazzling yet calamitous shoes was so infectious that Kate, by mere association, developed a curious obsession of her own. Each clink and shatter on the polished floors was a bittersweet reminder that beauty often came with a rather sharp price tag.

Inevitably, the seductive promise of those sparkling slippers proved as hazardous as it was enchanting. With every enthusiastic stride, the glass betrayed her, carving tiny reminders on her tender feet. Salvation arrived in the form of the Seven Short Kings—a band of diminutive, irreverent heroes who fancied themselves connoisseurs of exotic pets and devoted devotees of tom yum soup. They rescued Kate from the literal and figurative shards of her past and instilled in her an adventurous lust for the bizarre and gangbangs.

But Kate’s journey took an unexpected detour when her dyslexia and, let’s face it, a certain lack of intellectual rigor led her to join the CIA. She had misread the recruitment poster, thinking it promised a crash course in artificial intelligence. By the time she realized her mistake, she was already knee-deep in espionage training, where her unique blend of clumsiness and charm somehow made her a standout recruit. When the Bangkok mission came up, Kate eagerly volunteered, under the impression that “baht” had something to do with luxurious baths. Armed with her glass slipper collection, a lizard named Sir Scales-a-Lot, and a questionable understanding of currency, she set off for the neon-lit chaos of Bangkok in search of the mythical tiger shows.

Very nice! Guys don't hesitate to submit your head canons. Crush needs all the help he can get to overcome this super temporary bout of writers block.

And Crush if you are reading this (and I'm sure you are/will), feel free to steal my ideas. Take all the time you need to work them into the story. If you need another year or two to finetune the FA intro then go for it. We are a patient bunch over here on F95 and will wait till the end of time if it means we get the hottest, most perfectest FA spy story in the end. No one in the galaxy wants that more than we do! So stay frosty, stay hydrated and please try to avoid the burnout Crush - we are all rooting for you Buddy!
