I played this game two Augusts ago now, hasn't really been updated since. the story's setting was great, UI was really nice, but events were very linear and boring why does particular game have 1900 paid members, and diehard unconditional support fans? It's not good media. have they already sunk so much money into that pit that they're delusional or just forgotten subscriptions? Haven't played Blue Swallow since early releases but it look way more exciting.
Crush definitely benefited from starting this at the peak of people giving adult games with a good idea a blind chance.

I've seen other completely dead for years patreons retain subscriptions in the hundreds. I wouldn't be surprised at all if a decent amount are just people who completely forgot they're still subscribed. Or just do the dollar a month see he's still making posts at least and don't look further.

The discord has some genuine cult/religion vibes. The "fa discussion" channel constantly has new paragraphs of people discussing how the story could go, what they'd like to see, their headcanons about "their Kate" and a myriad of other things that are all in their imagination. Any criticisms against the developer or the project as a whole are met with a mix of "Well why don't you make your own game then" or "He knows what he's doing we want quality not slop". And let's not forget all the miscellanous "just chatting" channels, including the selfies channel. It's really not "a group to get updates about the development of the game", it's "an insular community that formed around that one guy who started making a game"

Two years ago, when the author purportedly decided to try and treat their writer's block about the main story by going back and having a third try at rewriting the twice-attempted-and-dropped Lifepath section, I made myself and others the prediction that things would turn out exactly as they did. The game would spend Nth further years trapped in development limbo with no seeming progress from the player's perspective. In my case, it was even worse since I was interested in this game almost exclusively because of the undercover infiltration and corruption plot that pushed the right kink buttons of mine. I cared little about getting an overdeveloped Lifepath about a student turned trainee spy PC.

As things stand, my entire residual interest in the game is to check how many years is going to take before we can get back to the point of the PC being on the brink of becoming a full-fledged bargirl, having that plot milestone cleared for good, and seeing the immediate aftermath, if it ever happens. I have some morbid and schadenfreude curiosity to see if this is going to happen before or after I hit retirement age, or the game's development process is going to collapse for good under the weight of its flaws. I have long since dropped any expectation the game can do anything else or yield anything interesting within a reasonable time schedule for the likes of me.

Those folks took what crush sold them with hook, line & sinker (idea of a game that only exists in their head, whatever it is I can assure you it is not FA in its current form). What is worse they genuinely believe they'll get it if they support the game just a little more. I'm not sure anymore that it is some form of sunk cost fallacy or beginnings of a cult...

I am glad I rediscovered this game, since I get to come back to this comment section from time to time and read genuine poetry from rightfully disgruntled people. Who knew that I would find such a good read on a porn game/content website. Here's to many more years of Crush delaying the game *champagne glass clinking sound*

I joined and spent some time in a developer's discord server once. I realised after a while that I'd rather have kept some separation between me and the developer, and somewhat regretted joining, because it's more difficult to be objective about the game. Me and some friends used to make small games for fun and share them with each other. We always offered words of kindness and encouragement, even if some of the games were pretty bad. It reminded me of that.

I've been in a couple of writing groups over the years. Those were very collegiate and supportive, no matter what shit you brought to the table. OTOH, we weren't asking anyone for money to support our efforts.

First time I agree with Crush: He's not a writer.

For that he would have to write something.
And for all his talk of endless edits, it's not like the game even has good writing? Like its writing quality is mediocre at best, plenty of games, even html H-games, have better writing. Like if this game had a Shakespearean quality I'd tolerate this attitude, but it's not even good!

Great, now Crush will read this comment and delay it for another year just to get Shakespearean quality writing.
