Do you guys ever like to revisit the old threads like this one and wonder where all the people who used to defend the creator are ?
Can't remember many people sticking their heads above the parapet to defend Crush. This place has almost always been people dunking on him for milking. If you want some real copium huffing check out ecchi sensei

Yeah, I supported him for 2-3 months when I first found out about this game, then I saw what was going on with his Patreon and stopped, that must have been 2 years ago.

It is amazing reading the comments on his Patreon every time there is a new "update". He keeps a basic loop:

week 1: "I have rewritten/edited X scenes because I am not happy with how they were, but now they really "pop" (or some similar term), the beta testers are reading them right now"

week 2: "as I have rewritten those scenes, our illustrator, lovely Victoria, has to re-do a bunch of art/create some new art, it looks fantastic, look here: xxxxxx . In the meantime, I am reviewing the feedback from the beta testers"

week 3: "while the art is finished, I have started writing some new scenes, I only have 2-3 scenes to complete and then I will release a new version"

week 4: "as I was writing the new scenes, our illustrator lovely Victoria is doing new art for them, and we are going to update the art of old scenes to match this, as they look so good"

week 5: "while the art is being done for old scenes, I have started rewriting some of them to match the style of the new ones I wrote"

week 6: "I have a bit of writer's block/I am a bit too much of a perfectionist, anyway, nearly done with the updates and a new version will be out"

week 7: back to week 1. And the cycle starts again.

This has been going on for next to 3 years now, and people still praise him in the comments and accept it. There are some that criticize it, of course, but they never get a response from Crush at all, there are no excuses, no explanations, nothing. It is unbelievable that he has this level of support still.

I've said my peace plenty of times here on my thoughts about Crush but i think this will be the last time. The odds are that Crush hasnt really done much of anything for the past 2 years after that "christmas special". A few of the updates before that had missing option/pathways that were to be added "later".

Its very likely that crush's problems started as writers block or a lose of interest and quickly snow balled into willful procrastination and support milking. My guess is their aquiring of an AI art program exacerbated the issue. I think most people dont believe this "Victoria" exists since up until the last real update, to my memory, there has never been art to accompany sex scenes.

My final word on this is if Crush really had been working on the game all this time than the easiest way to win back favor would be to release an update no matter how incomplete. We all have to assume since they havent and likely wont that there isnt an update. Nothing has been coded, drawn, or added. At most its a messy stack of short stories they wrote with a "plan" to incorporate "later". We'll all likely have to come to terms with the fact we've been throwing money away for 2 years.

Incredible scope reduction every time he goes through the cycle.

"Lifepath is a massive transformative addition to the game, it's nearly finished and worth the wait!"

>>> months pass, complaints about no release become overwhelming

>>> "OK I know everyone is impatient, I will just release "quickstart" which skips all lifepath content, it is only three scenes so I should be able to release very soon, just need to make the sex scenes hotter!"

>>> months pass, complaints about no release become overwhelming

>>> "OK I know everyone is impatient, I will just release half of "quickstart" which means one new scene with no sex content. I still have this huge todo list before it is ready though..."

Might get a release the length of a sentence in another 2 years

i really feel like this basic loop of report is just that, an empty two month long, rinse and repeat of him making report and nothing else !

I don't know, half of the quick start, with no Malaysia seems like a lot. Crush should really play test that half in November, when it's "done" and then rethink the whole plan. A quarter of the quick start has a way higher rate of success of getting "hotter" scenes.

Anyone with half a brain should understand that Crush lies and lies and lies. Him presenting this project as a full time job, 40+ hours a week with no result in over 2 years is a good telltale. Even before this period, he needed months to produce a half broken "create your own" story, with broken links, image placeholders which were never changed and a fake "your choice matter" system.

Was it always a scam? Probably not. It was a good idea which caught enough attention in 2017. Then he wanted to add life path. He did an ok job until he got bored and brought back the main story. During the pandemic he had enough time to actually produce something, but after things started to return to normal (into the world), he just out grew the project and kept it as a side hustle. The least amount of effort for the maximum result. It seems that a few reports is all it takes to receive founding from people. He changes the reports from time to time, he never responds concerns from patreons. Hell he even throws with mud into their faces with "I am taking a vacation and I will put the entire game on indefinite hiatus".

From my perspective, awareness of the vast flaws in the game's development process even when updates were still released, near-exclusive interest in the Bangkok stuff, and consequent overwhelming scepticism about the big reversal to lifepath meant I already deemed the game effectively dead two years ago. Any residual interest of mine in the subsequent drama was just the vaporware version of looking at an unfolding disaster with popcorn in hand. I had no expectation whatsoever anything worthwhile would be delivered within a reasonable timescale.

IMO, whether it has been a knowing scam, being trapped in a vicious and destructive cycle of writer's block, perfectionism, procrastination, and lying to oneself and others, or any mix thereof basically is a distinction w/o a difference. I just pat myself in the back for having been right two years down the line and stand amazed at the cult-like delusion of those that seemingly still trust Crush's endless string of excuses, keep giving him money, and talk like this is still a functional project. But hey, whatever floats their boat.

I just find my assumptions all the more confirmed by the recent realization that other, less flawed developers can tackle the same kind of concept and make their own version of the project with the amateur-spy lifepath and the sex-worker infiltration parts orders of magnitude more developed already in a fraction of the time it took Crush before terminal stalling.

Oof. Showing your patreons an excerpt of a post you 'almost' made, putting the game on hiatus. That is really quite manipulative. It was always obvious Crush was deceiving himself and thus, by extension, his supporters, but this is something worse, to me. He's pulling out every trick in the book to emotionally corral his followers. I think you'd be most unfortunate to count someone like this as a friend or even an acquaintance.

Actually the game is no longer fun. What is interesting now is watching this "developer" continue to invent excuses after excuses to manipulate the sheep and earn 4k a month without doing anything.
The shameless fucker was probably tired of scamming and wanted to quit so he drafted a hiatus post. But then, getting 4k per month doing nothing, why not? It's a high salary in most countries already.

The amount of words consolidated in Crush’s so called “transparency report” over the period of 2 years since the last release would probably made up couple of progressive updates by now

Some praises are in fact actually written by Crush to rally some sort of positive fans amidst all the excuses over the period.
