personal question that u should probably ask yourselves....why play female protage games? unless it's lesbian female protage games....then, i can understand ya....myabe even futa female protagonist games....cuz more tits and pussies. but straight femal protag games, i dun get them, as a straight male.

All 'male protagonist' games are the same. Mostly Boring. Fuck all the ladies around you! No sense of adventure. Nothing new, it's mostly harem or ntr games. If you saw one - you saw all of them.
(Well, there are some exceptions like "Acting Lessons" - that game is brilliant!)

That's why I like everything that gives as something different. Female protagonist, Futa/gay/lesbian/bisex content or at least some intresting story like "DeLuca Family"

There are already a lot of threads like this but let's go again.

As a straight man my main interest in games are females.

Male protagonist games usually have multiple female characters and because of that you can't get invested in them because they end up as stereotypical characters.

In female protagonist games there is mainly one female to get invested into: the main one so usually it is a much more complex character.

Another reason for me is the power. I have absolute god power over that female. I can make her to be a strong female that fights against every man that tries to have sex with her or I can turn her into the biggest slut whatever I feel like at the time.

As for "looking at male backsides" that is just terrible design IMO. Most games I played have CGs with the female as the main focus so I don't get your issue on this one.

You play a game and see sex scenes and actions of fictional characters, that doesn't change whether it's male or female mc.

Female protag games have a great advantage in that you're guaranteed a character you're familiar with and who you want to see have sex is in the scenes. It also suits well a corruption type game, you corrupt that 1 character you're into. It provides a clear goal.
Meanwhile that's not guaranteed at all in male protag games, you get scenes that can be super unappealing with random whores.

For me it's that simple:
Pro: Female protagonist is a lesbian.
Con: Female protagonist is straight.

My favorite female protagonists are the dominant parts of lesbian couples. Seducing (or tricking) a milfy woman into her first lesbian sex is a kink I'm especially fond of, though I like most lesbian games and stories, UNLESS they turn lesbian sex into an MFF threesome or a performance for a male character.

On the other hand, I wouldn't play any female protagonist straight games.

For me the pro and con are actually both the same for a female protagonist. Being a male myself, I can't imagine myself as the main character so I'm automatically not as invested in what happens to that character. The downside of that is that I'm not really going to be able to get into the game as much as if the MC was male. The upside is that since I don't care about the character, it won't bother me if she ends up being used and abused by the time the game is over. For a male MC the exact opposite would be true for me.

That depends on the game.
Most adult games here are of the CG, with mainly still images. In 3rd person 3D style games, like shooters, it's quite common to always see your main character from the rear. My direct answer is why not have both sexes represented? Just because you don't prefer it doesn't preclude others from having a differing of opinion or desire...

I, myself, prefer a healthy mix of both, when done right... Sadly, this is a male protagonist dominated market... And many female protagonists are not treated the same as their male counterparts... Women like erotic content as well as men, and it's a bit sexist to think otherwise... And yet there are very few female protagonists, where they are the ones in control and/or seeking the same things as their male counterparts, rather then being targets/victims of others perversions... Is it a lack of female developers perhaps, or is it because of this misconception that everyone can only immerse themselves in a male character? I personally find it sad that it's so male dominated, or how female protagonists being treated equally is so rare... I'm a big believer in options... The more options available, the more inclusive the market...

Everyone is different, with different needs and desires and points of view... Some folks can only relate to what they are used to, and some folks are more open to varying possibilities... It's normal, but that doesn't mean one is better then the other... Society is vast and varied... And it's not like the industry is forcing you to play/read everything that is available... Varying options are a good thing... Play/read what you like, but don't admonish others for having a different perspective...

I too dont really enjoy playing as a female protagonist. Other than the obvious reason that i couldn't insert myself, the female protags usually fuck too many dicks, often at the same time resulting in gangbang, group sex which isn't my kink. If you want any h-scenes in a female protag game you either have to lose on purpose, be braindead on purpose, choose the stupid option on purpose or be a prostitute on purpose, let perverts grope you on purpose...those sounds kinda masochistic self-destruc imo which also isn't my kink.
I like jrpgm 2d netori games so this is kinda worse for me since those tags are plagued with female protag and netorare . I couldn't find anything through numerous search so i've to settle with western or 3d games such as Milfy city, lancaster boarding house, urban demon, a mother's love... those games while aren't bad, didnt really scratch my itch either .

Unless it's one of those "but thou must" setups where despite having multiple alternative routes on the map the story does not progress until you walk into that back alley at midnight for no reason...

Plus very few games actually have anything resembling a "personality" creator. Basically you need to spend the first few days masturbating, returning to that alley and maybe sucking off a few stray dogs then pretend none of that ever happened to start "the real game" as a heroine with any interest or agency in sex. I avoid a large portion of male protag games because I absolutely despise most rape/coercion/creep themes yet with many female protags it feels as if I'm raping the character I am supposedly playing as!

I don't self-immerse in any game so I'm indifferent to the gender of the MC in that respect, but in games where it doesn't matter (most non-adult RPGs, for example), I pretty much always play as a woman or a team of women for purely aesthetic reasons. My frustration with female protagonists in erotic games is that, in what seems like the vast majority of them, things are still being done to the female character. She's the MC, or at least the POV character, but she lacks agency.

I'd love a female protag who's 1) not dumb as rocks, and/or 2) not an unwilling (or even willing) victim of every perv in Lechertown, and/or 3) not utterly passive, but who actually has sexual agency and control over her destiny. For example, I want something like Dreaming of Dana with all (or maybe all but one of) the genders reversed. Dana's our MC and she's got a secret yearning for her brother, but meanwhile there are four other consensual sexual encounters she has to work through before deciding which of them will "beard" her relationship with her brother.

It seems obvious and easy on paper, but how many actual games look like this? Project SAGE comes to mind — you can play Amy several different ways, and one of them is as in full control of her sexual curiosity — but there sure aren't many. For instance, why isn't Anne the MC of The Adventurous Couple? By about a third of the way through the game she's driving the entire plot anyway. Why isn't Claire the MC of Because I Love Her?
