Female Protagonist; pro/con...

I could never play a game with a Female Protagonist, because I'm not female.

Neither am I and I don't usually play but:

I too dont really enjoy playing as a female protagonist. Other than the obvious reason that i couldn't insert myself, the female protags usually fuck too many dicks, often at the same time resulting in gangbang, group sex which isn't my kink. If you want any h-scenes in a female protag game you either have to lose on purpose, be braindead on purpose, choose the stupid option on purpose or be a prostitute on purpose, let perverts grope you on purpose...those sounds kinda masochistic self-destruc imo which also isn't my kink.
I like jrpgm 2d netori games so this is kinda worse for me since those tags are plagued with female protag and netorare . I couldn't find anything through numerous search so i've to settle with western or 3d games such as Milfy city, lancaster boarding house, urban demon, a mother's love... those games while aren't bad, didnt really scratch my itch either .

I don't really enjoy it either but one of the best games/visual novels I have ever played features a female MC, you might want to check it out; it's called Long Live The Queen. It doesn't suffer from your complaints, doesn't feature netorare afaict… in fact, I don't think it features any sexual content . Maybe that's why I loved it (although mostly because of the great story and agency); but honestly… it's so good that I bought it after having played it pirated.

Well, not that its relevent but last year i accidentally bought the game called "magical diary horse hall" from the same developer who made long live the queen. I was tricked by one of the key feature which is Designe your own character. So i left the game auto running for a few hours to get cards, when i came back to try the game for real and start "designing my own character", i noticed there's no option to change gender to male . I couldn't refund since while auto running for cards i exceeded the time limit. Its from the same developer of your favourite game so maybe you'd want to check it out, i haven't touched it since .

Yeah it's on Steam. I bought it there (but I downloaded for free first). Haha I might've loved LLTQ but still… I'm not too eager to play another game of theirs since they feature female mc I don't even know how I got to play LLQT¹ but I wasn't disappointed. Also it's not my favourite game; it is in my top 5 games without sexual² content for sure though (and definitely the top rpg-vn hybrid).

1. Probably appeared on the front page of macgames-downlad.com † and the screenshots or genres looked interesting.

same as gay content. can not be made great if dev is not gay himself or have good relation with someone gay.

And don't count on porn movies to teach you. Even in amateur movies there's really few that aren't intended to please males, and so what you'll see is girls "doing it in a male way". But if really you want to do it, think of it as endless preliminaries that end with an orgasm ; it will still not really be it, but at least it will be more realist that what we usually see.

I mean, either way if you're playing a straight-themed game (if that's what you're doing) a dick is going into a pussy. You're going to see it if that's what you're playing. Personally then, I don't understand why it matters whether or not it's the character you're playing as that's plugging in or being plugged into. D is going into P and unless you're playing as a female and jacked into some VR first-person immersive as all hell game where you're going to see some dude grunting on top of you, it hardly matters. I mean, unless you're someone who goes deep, deep, deep into the character you're playing as and really feel as if it's you despite a third person view, I guess.

i say 90% of female protagonist are presented as dumb, whatever her sexual choice. They lack personality, charisma and such. only few game with female protag reach a level that is not dumb.

All non-dumb percentages were stricly lesbian or bi. Many games will be poorly written regardless of character genders but I don't believe there is not a single hetero female who meets reasonable standards. If you're willing to count them quite a few "player choice" games have a faithful/virgin path which might even reward you with a full gallery unlock upon completion (I believe Sword Princess Cistina was one of those) - In many cases I would rather consider it a shortfall of the male-protag games because they do not allow the perpetually broke MC to work as an "escort" or bar(e)back at the local gay club.

Most of games with fem prot are not about playing as girl. It's about control girl character. Like movie or book - it's not you, it's a doll wich actions you can manipulate. It's good for men, maybe. But i'm sick of it. Because games where you are really playing as a woman exist a small amount.

There are already a lot of threads like this but let's go again.

As a straight man my main interest in games are females.

Male protagonist games usually have multiple female characters and because of that you can't get invested in them because they end up as stereotypical characters.

In female protagonist games there is mainly one female to get invested into: the main one so usually it is a much more complex character.

Another reason for me is the power. I have absolute god power over that female. I can make her to be a strong female that fights against every man that tries to have sex with her or I can turn her into the biggest slut whatever I feel like at the time.

As for "looking at male backsides" that is just terrible design IMO. Most games I played have CGs with the female as the main focus so I don't get your issue on this one.

That's exactly why a lot of people have a favourite porn star, THE ONE AND ONLY, that can get you off every time. Having multiple females is distracting. You might as well put a bag on their head in all those sex scenes. No intimacy at all.

I think having all genders represented on this side is awesome. I like switching sides in games from time to time. However sometimes it feels like there are way more female protagonist games these days than straight male stories, since I really have to look for them alot. They are definetly there, but man I wanted to play some straight games the last weeks and it was a struggle to finde something around 4 stars that had a guy lead which isn't furry or gay.

So whenever there is the option to play as female (or futa/trans) I'll happily have a go (probably rubbish at it but who's judging).

I'm a straight guy and I like female protagonists. Not because I relate to the protagonist, but because I enjoy seeing a female character progress through different stages of sex addiction. I just really like corruption style things, and it helps story-wise to follow one female character instead of a bunch. I'm also totally cool with male protagonists too, I flip pretty often when it comes to which gender I like playing as more. As long as the sex is straight, I don't care who I'm playing as.
