You've already made one mistake. FF&S isn't "following author's main story in lit". As the FAQ #2 in the OP there states, it is
"inspired by portions of JohnCBB's story"
, and JohnCBB hasn't been involved since the 4th chapter.
That being said, you're suggesting an angle to Emily's involvement that I hadn't considered - particularly if what she was trying to work toward was getting herself "reinstated" as the Queen Bee, given that when she went to ALC she lost her role as Head Cheerleader.
I'll have to ponder that. Thank you for the suggestion.
Yes, that's something I've done a bit of. Unfortunately, I've yet to run across anything that fits well. (My characters have personalities of their own, and it's hard for me to "force them" into actions that don't fit. And if that makes you think I'm a bit schizo, most authors probably are a bit... LOL)
I wasn't reacting that way because I didn't think they would request it. I was reacting that way because we just had a long sequence of messages over on the main FF&S forum about this precise, and my brain did a "oh, no, here we go again" to your message. (Warranted or not.) It isn't a case of "eventually ask for it." It's a case of "that request has already been made dozens and dozens of times."
With respect, you're making assumptions about why I moved FF&S to SubscribeStar that are not warranted. I'm not going to get into a discussion of that particular choice, but it happened well before STDH was born, and not because I anticipated doing STDH.
Of course - quite true. Without that move, many of the STDH stories would not have been feasible. So, it was a happy outcome, if not "the cause of the move."
That's an easy answer, which has been discussed in a number of places on this site. (Although perhaps more in the developer threads than in game threads.) Patreon wants to avoid being classified as an "adult site" by their credit card processors. If that were to happen, it would completely change their economic model (which depends heavily on $1 monthly pledges) because the credit card processing fees get much, much higher if you're an "adult site," because "adult sites," on average, have a much higher fraud and "no, I didn't authorize that charge" rate. All of which costs the credit card company a lot more money. Thus, Patreon, to preserve their status, has to be seen to comply with what the card processors consider "acceptable content" for a non-adult site. SubscribeStar has accepted being "adult" classified, but it significantly reduces the number of payment methods they can support (no PayPal, for example) and effectively means that the minimum monthly tier you can do anything with is $2 instead of $1.
So, this isn't some huge moral stand - it's simple business economics, both on Patreon's part and also on the companies through which they accept payments.
Please don't get pissy about this. Perhaps you should go back to the OP on FF&S (
https://f95zone.to/threads/family-friends-and-strangers-v2024-10-johnandrich.22416/post-1392682) and re-read the FAQ
I have
always listened to people who make suggestions - even "non-supporters" here. (Note my first response to you in this very post, for example.)
Not counting my own posts, there are over 3,000 posts on the main FF&S forum, and over 250 here. I've read every single one of them. I've also read and responded to every one of the PM's that I've been sent, some of which have included full-blown scripts for scenes. Some suggestions from F95 have, in fact, made it into STDH, which you would know if you had, in fact, been following along through all of that history. (Not that I'm blaming you for not reading through almost 4,000 posts in two forums. I certainly wouldn't have. It's just that if you
had, you'd realize that your statements aren't accurate.)
So, given all that, I feel that I'm fully entitled to express a "sigh" now and then when certain individual members make the exact same request 6-8 times, or someone else who has
not read through all the history makes the same request that has been made in dozens and dozens of other posts and been responded to multiple times.
That's all. It's just one of those
things.
