That's why most popular love interests/girls in some popular games won't set up the main love interests being in a relationship during the game. I am really tired of some games like incest/romance theme game that your sister/cousin/mom/aunt/childhood friend/possible love interests had a shitty/cheating boyfriend setting that happen to leave a space for mc to swoop in. Unless your game theme is netori or focus on trauma, you don't really had to use such setting.

I will put this game in my on-hold list to see more progress before try playing.

So a multiple protagonist game which I tend to avoid because of increased devlopment time and for the female protagonist part which I will never play.
Then you have this kind of lis, can mc atleast stand up to disrespect and put them in their place or acts like doormat?
Is this a singular event or it just have a passive mc ?
The Only tag I am here for is Harem but this comments doesn't sound inspiring.

I'll try one more release cause on technical side the game is good, but as for now: too much accent on world building and not so much on characters; all these dialogues and monologues about human nature, society and impact are really not my cup of tea; Male MC and two girls seem to have unlikable personalities and i hope there will be character arcs to make them normal and they will be rapid so we will have time to interact with normal personalities. Also wish there was some humor.

The problem with small team devs is that they keep things way too safe and vanilla. Also, the one writing the story could feel ashamed to present the team with his kinks. It's not like they are a Japanese porn company where the word "shameless" doesn't exist.

Has anyone? The incomplete game is all we can judge. And what we have in the incomplete game is miss perfect being a subservient doormat to a cartoonish douchebag for no reason other than a vague allusion to the length of their relationship.
It feels like a shallow version of the already shallow "girls like assholes" cliché. I wish we had left that one back in the previous millenium.

I don't mind the MC simping for her despite that because the MC is portrayed in the past as hopeful and innocent and the current MC is still a hopeless pervert (sigh) and a purposeless loser currently failing at life. Desperation and nostalgia would keep the MC trapped in that silly crush.
I like the idea of our protagonist improving his/her life to the point where she/he's more attractive than the "rival". But when the bar to clear is not only on the floor but subterranean that's so much less interesting.
For this to not be as dissatisfying in the future it will need to be addressed. Maybe the new and improved MC with better self-esteem realizes how sad it is to be after that girl. Maybe the shallow caricature of a gaping asshole that is Diana's boyfriend gets humanized a little and we get valid reasons why their relationship exists at all.

Flawed characters are great when the story is aware of their flaws. At the moment, we don't have much reason to believe the story is aware of Diana's and Lu's.

You completely understand my point. I didn't put it as eloquent but you explain it perfect. I was pretty hyped about the game after the demo and then we get this. The very first person you meet who is supposed to be a love interests is horrible. Why? So we can go play the white knight and go save her from the douche boyfriend? It makes zero sense. It is literally the first impression of the game outside of the amazing demo and the very first love interests we meet. I seriously feel like both as the player and mc your already 1-0 behind before you even set foot in the game. It is such a disappointment we meet two girls and we are supposed to go fix them or something. I don't want to fix her and I don't want my first steps into a game be shit on by a couple I then have to go break up to go have a relationship with no matter how the story is written. Sorry it just makes zero sense to me that this is the literal first interaction the developers want to give us. I am not a basement dweller and have dated dozens of women in my life. (Yes I am that old) And these kind of women I don't want to be with in my real life and also not in a game. I don't want my first mission to be to break up some flawed couple so I can go fix the girl. Who didn't we get a decent strong character?
