kudos to the devs for making an open world game, making the environment look this good.
combat feels like theres bad hit detection but it think its a mix of bad telegraphing (anticipation of the some attacks but mainly the visuals for the area of damage of the hits). a lot of the time i get hit and i dont realize it. For AoE do add some ground visualization like in moba's. maybe make the camera more snappy when in combat the lerp should be sharp not floaty specifically for close range melee combat.
Like another mentioned the grass is a bit much, those are instanced but still are taking processing power. try their suggestion by add a mix of blades of mesh grass with sprite billboards and reducing the mesh grass by 50% this will help users on lower end hardware. Or maybe a grass quality setting and a simple toggle off for lower end user hardware. For sex scenes you should flatten the grasses Y value by multiplying it by 0.1 to make it 10% of the original height, or mask it.
Again im in awe of how well the world looks, im still trying to figure out how you did those planetary rings, my best guess is a spline with color lerp no mesh with a color lerp that has dark spots for shadow?
Man that render distance is only something a GPU can handle, inspiring! I'll need to figure out how to world stream efficiently in my unity game ;-; so cool best of luck.
yeah please be safe and look into the nintendo idiotic game mechanic patents that caused palworld the most trouble, i think theres 2. the main one is using spheres to catch and summon (which is such bs) and the flying mounts one (completely bs). idk your using cubes so i guess your kinda aware. but patenting game mechanics is unanomosly agreed to absolute filthiest thing to ever happen to gamings entire existance and nintendo is spear heading it, smfh. nintendo marginally improves bc i doesnt need to, stagnant megacorp becoming oppressive instead of improving, miyamoto would be absolutely ashamed.
