I wouldn't say you need to change where it is. The bottom border is just a kind of blind spot. Technically the TV is on the bottom border too, but we are culturally programmed to look for a TV in the living room. The couch is facing toward the player so you instinctively look for it there.I'm working on a patch to fix several issues and I'm going to change where this is located to the other cabinet. I've heard from about 30 people who have had difficulty finding the cards. I'm also going to make the hints more specific and will give Meredith a line when she tells him to get the cards to say something like, "Sweetie... you know where we keep all the games."
I would have found the cards a lot sooner if I had just focused on the dining room. That's the room with the big table. Table that is necessary for boardgames. It's the most natural place to keep those kind of games. You even play chess with Charlotte on that table. It's definitely on me that it took so long to notice it and I'm glad that I'm now aware of this blind spot. Because of it I started looking for what else I might have missed on the bottom borders and finally noticed that there is a dildo on the basement one.
It might help if there was an interaction with the bottom border cabinet that drew the player's attention to it. If for example the chessboard was left on the table after playing with Charlotte and clicking it made the MC put it away. You could even build up on it and make Meredith complain to you if you left it there. And there could be other things that MC leaves around which you have to click to make him tidy up so you can make an achievement out of it. Or Charlotte could be the one leaving things around and you have to clean up after her.
... And if the things she leaves lying around include her underwear, there'd be some story potential in that bad habit.
