Because after being "lovers" with Janice so long, it would be hard not to choose her if we was forced to only choose 1. There are ways to write around this, like the MC and Janice having a falling out relating to Sylvia, pushing him into her arms depending on choices the player makes. And maybe that can still happen. Being in a relationship with both LI shouldn't be something that's easy, and the drama involving it could bring all of them closer in the end, or destroy their relationship.

The phone app itself will have those three buttons at the bottom, commonly found on Android phones. Closing the phone or reopening it, should not be an issue in later updates.

hmm...

first of all, its due to mc is already there and secondly, probably, due to the culture here...

most of the times you see the door keep opened, when either mc or someone (other than Sylvia), last to enter the room. Which is practically a guest or non-relative (family member.)

And in my country, guest rarely closes the door on their way in or way out

It is only an image, the one at the beginning of the game, not a scene. I renamed the image and forgot to change the unlock variable.
Not sure if I fixed it in a bug fix update, but will be fixed in the next version for sure.
