I managed to deliver my first pregnancy, and told my spawn to stay with me. How do I interact with my children in single player. The wiki is not helpful at all. I also have a feeling the wiki is mainly for the multiplayer. There are a lot of weird entries that are not at all like in the game.

I'm totally confused. How can I play the game?
I downloaded and installed it using the interpreter. Then I went to the "Flexible Survival" folder and then to the "Release" folder. There I clicked on the "play" file. A website opened that said "Loading..." and nothing happened.
What am I doing wrong?

Open git.exe, choose Flexible Survival.gblorb, and that's it?

what was the trigger to find korvin again? i havent played and ages and i totally forgot how you get the GSD dude as a companion
There's a chance when you encounter GSD guys you'll a message about one with a scar, may need to beat up a few regular ones until he appears.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Doesn't matter what post-battle option you pick when you win. Need to beat him three or so times (more if you lose any) then you should get this text when you beat him:

Hope that helps.

I really wish they would put adding all this species-specific content and other stuff that has to be cut out or trimmed due to the engine on the fucking backburner and finish the Godot port already.
Hey we added a bunch of scenes! but we had to cut more than we added, and the stuff we did add are all trimmed scenes, tee hee.

If inform is struggling with what's there already stop adding shit to it.

You mean they said they will cut contents when ported to Godot?

You do know the people work on Godot Port are not the same as those work on the contents? That's not how thing works.
I also really wish they can accelerate the process of Porting.
But it's very weird you'd wish them to NOT continue to add contents.

You have bad reading comprehension; Inform is breaking down due to how big the game is, and when they add more and more stuff, that stuff has to be cut or trimmed. If they instead finish porting it, they can add that cut or trimmed content; a bunch of shit has been removed over the years to keep the game running on inform.

You still doesn't make sense yet you blaming others for having "bad reading comprehension".
You just sound like someone who don't understand coding and machine language.
Also Trimming is not equal to cutting contents.
Guess I just wasted my time on some unreasonable angry random, you have a nice day. :)

You're assuming that everyone working on FS is capable of assisting with the porting efforts. I'll bet not even a quarter of the active people on their team are programmers or have the requisite experience with Godot to create a solid foundation for the game's continued development.

On top of that, they have obligations to uphold to their patrons and commissioners. They can't just stop working until the port is done. It's an unfortunate situation, but it is what it is.

It would be nice if the porting efforts happened faster, but when you have over a decade of cruft built up in a language that's goes out of its way to not resemble any other established programming language, on top of trying to design a system that'll both satisfy the existing content and sustain the game for another 10+ years, on top of maintaining the MUCK, and doing all of this as a hobby project (from what I can tell, their Patreon/SubStar doesn't exactly rake in a ton of cash)…yeah, I can see why it's taking a while.

I wonder, are they really committing to porting the game to Godot?
Or are they still on the stage of planning / brainstorming?
From what I can see, they really didn't put much work into porting, and very content to keep thing as how it is.
Dissatisfaction only comes from players who actually trying to play the game.
Especially obvious when jfmherokiller said making the game is way easier than playing the game

That's the double edge of easier access to game development, on one hand it gives much more opportunities to people who couldn't make games before; on the other hand, since they don't know the basics, if there's a problem with the engine - like when it becomes obsolete - they won't be able to solve the problem, or it's too difficult that they rather not solve it.

Personally I don't play FS as a "Proper game" anymore, but as a "PornHub" - select a branch of scenes you are interested, and go along with it - which is perfectly align with their current running structure.
That's also one reason why commission is not suited for game development as a whole - they are too short-termed.

It's a disappointment when they don't want to achieve "something more".
But....it is what it is XD

I've been checking in on it once in a while and they are sloooooowly making progress. Unfortunately it's hard to make any exact measurement of progress as they don't appear to be developing the Godot version in their main public source repository. Last time I tried building it myself, it was pretty far off from their current development build. It also seems like the team that's working on it is pretty tiny…not really sure what their experience level is.

I wish they'd give more updates on it, or at least allow more open contributions.

Same, tbh. The game always had a problem with discoverability, so going in with a goal seems to be the best way to play.

It also doesn't help that the scenes with the random battles are generally pretty barebones. Sure, you've got stuff like the Wyvern Patriarch, but most of it is about as deep as "u bone her then leave LOL." :p

Yeah, these sort of things tend to work better if the author has a reason to be invested in a character (though I guess the commissioner having a lot of money to throw at their ideas can also help, haha).
