Made the mistake of trying this out at 3am... when I finished playing, it was 2pm. Despite my score, this game is not perfect, but damn if it isn't fun to play. It's also refreshing, that for once, a lewd game is an actual GAME, with thought out mechanics.

The controls a little floaty, but not enough to really ruin the platforming experience, although once you get the gliding ability, even that becomes a cakewalk. The game itself isn't too hard. Bosses have certain things you have to do, usually broken up into 2 Phases. Once you figure out what to do with them, it's usually a breeze. The real star here, is the Metroidvania-styled secret hunts, and absolutely beautiful spritework, which includes naughty scenes, that are rewarded for finishing quests.

Each character has a quest, which usually requires you to find and wear a specific Costume for them, or find an item. The reward is a sexual scene. Some of these people has a 3-part questline, which progressively more lewd scenes, usually ending in penetration. This is probably why so many other reviews claim the game is lacking, because this stuff is near the end of the game.

That said, there are a ton of good handjob and boobjob scenes, that I didn't think I'd be into, but was. In particular, there's one where a goth girl jerks you off, using a slime as an onahole while she shakes her pierced tiddies in your face, as her nude friend sits in front of you with her tongue out. I dare you to tell me that's not hot.

I only had two issues, a couple of glitches. One where an item I needed to finish a quest didn't appear in a Boss Room, and another where the Boss spawned AFTER I collected the item they would have given, but with me outside the battle arena, leaving me free to spam ranged attacks on them without getting hurt. The developer is aware of these issues and is working on them. If your not aware, if you get lost in a game like this, you can always check Steam's Community for the game without owning it, where people have likely answered all your questions about the game.

Overall, it's just a solid, fun sexy game. Definitely not Hollow Knight levels of skill or depth, but definitely a good time, and the price on Steam seems well worth it, considering I got like 6+ hours of out it, and I'm still not done. If I could have hidden ownership of the game from family, I definitely would have bought it for real. You could do worse, and if you've lurked around these forums enough, you know how bad other erotic games can be.

Edit: thought of this after posting, but the game almost exactly plays like the Shantae series, except without all that cockteasing.

Great platformer. Has all the core aspects. Large map with themed zones. Backtracking when you get new abilities. Lots of hidden things to find to reward exploration. Simple but fun combat, not too hard to dodge everything and hp regen is everywhere, but hp is low so a few mistakes and it's over. The bosses are engaging but not too hard.

H-scene wise there is a good variety of stuff, all vanilla. There are 2 animated death CG perzone, one for each gender. There are about 40 animated CG to unlock from quests. The animations are great and the voicing is excellent. Every npc has some voincing and the bosses have lots of lines.

Overall solid and entertaining metroidvania that has great amount of content, both gameplay-wise and sex-wise, and seems to have decent developer support. Some issues with controls, grind, sexual content, and balancing, but the overall package is good and has the chance to sort out any issues with post-release support from the devs.
    Cons
    1. Controls aren't the best. Movement is a bit sluggish and floaty which is problematic when you have to dodge things, and attacks slowly advance your character which can make you take damage unintentionally. These floaty controls can also cause a headache on some of the platforming segments, especially before you unlock better movement tools. Casting spells is also a very clunky input where you hold your ranged attack button first and then click your melee attack button, which takes forever to make it come out and makes offensive spells feel terrible and even pointless to use over just spamming small ranged attacks.
    2. Balancing is all over the place. Enemy variety is pretty standard, with ranged and close-range attackers, but later in the game enemies will quite literally kill you in 2-3 hits. On the flip side, your ranged attacks are blatantly rather terrible until a little past halfway into the game, and eventually your melee attacks will also start killing enemies in at minimum two hits. Hit or miss, depending on what you find challenging or annoying.
    3. Sexual content might not be what you're hoping for. A lot of scenes are non-penetrative in nature and that might disappoint you. And while not an issue for me personally, there is no male/male content even though the protagonist can have sex with both sexes in her female form, and will only have sex with woman when she switches to male, so this can also be a sore spot. There are also no sex scenes for losing to a boss, which can be a letdown.
    4. Grindy. This doesn't bother me so much because going in and out of a room with brutes is an easy source of gold, but a good deal of sidequests are locked behind purchasing a costume with looted gold from enemies, and this can slow you down both from getting upgrades and seeing the H-content. However, this is an issue that appears to be getting fixed by the developers, so this may no longer be as big of a problem later.
    Pros
    1. Map is genuinely quite big. There's different areas all with a good amount of individual rooms with their own enemies and potentially treasures, and traversing the map is pretty fun.
    2. Genderbend mechanic is engaging. Platforming challenges often require you to quickly swap between your female and male forms, and even some boss mechanics will ask you to make quick switches, in a way that brings to mind Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth. There aren't specific differences between either form besides what costumes you can wear and what sidequests can advance, which is a slight letdown if you wanted a system like Portrait of Ruin.
    3. Sidequests and sexual content. There are plenty of sidequests to do from an array of NPCs which give you plenty to do on top of exploring the maps and fighting bosses, and you get substantial rewards both by slowly unlocking more healing and damage, and also giving you well-animated pixel sex scenes with whichever character you've helped out. Sidequest objectives are generally just simplistic fetch quests, but it's still something of worth with a good payoff. Sexual content also has a lot of variety with being able to have sex with nearly every NPC, with different sexual acts, playable gender, and possibly costumes for each one, as well as defeat scenes, where enemies will have sex with the protagonist if you run out of health anywhere. There should be something for everyone, as long as you aren't looking for male/male sex.
    4. Developer response seems good so far. While the game has seen multiple delays and the developers apparently have a reputation for not delivering on things that are promised, they seem to make a good impression post-release, quickly hashing out large bugs and balancing issues, taking into account some player feedback like adding defeat sex scenes to the gallery in a future patch, and promising future updates, support, and free DLC. Time will tell if they mean it, but at the moment it may not hurt to be optimistic.

bugs with using skills “hold down the left button” - but it doesn’t work, attack and that’s it. how to get through the thorns? but no way! If you can still do without bombs, then you can’t do without a ghost at all.

Good plataformer, terrible porn game. The same combination as always.

Nice art, good controls, unique idea with the sex switch, the animations are good. That's every good thing on the game.

Same problem as always, the gameplay and the porn do not mix together. There's only 1 animation on defeat for the 2 characters, no matter where you are or the enemy that deals the final blow, you will see the same 5 secs animation on loop for the first 2 hours of gameplay. Those are the only scenes you can get, unless you complete quest, wich is nice but not enough. The bosses do not have animations either, even after you win, I suposse the creator dind't think of that.

If you want a decent platformer then play this, but don't expect to get off to it, just play mario or metroid dude.

Summary 4.25/5- Metroidvania game with quite a bit of backtracking. H-content there is some missed opportunity in terms of the H-content.

Gameplay 4.5/5 - In terms of controls and gameplay, it is solid. 2 things to critique are is that bosses do tend to be damage sponges and the map can use a little bit of work. Some doors can be color-coded to indicate that they're locked and a mini-map system can be implemented to make backtracking easier. *Edit - some people have commented that the bomb skill is bugged. I haven't had this problem. Probably an issue with not realizing that the bombs use mana/magic. These can be replenished by hitting opponents or obtaining the blue stars from breakables.

H-content 3.5-4/5- Sadly, this was an incredibly missed opportunity. The H-material are all animated but are mostly from rewards, quests, and collectibles. There are some game-over animations; however, they are very few. Basically, 2 animations per location(s) (1 for each gender). There should be 9 game over animations from each gender:

    1. Goblins 2. Ghost/Zombie 3. Demons 4. Harpy/Vines 5. Angel/Statue 6. Fungus/Pigman 7. Slime 8. Mermaid 9. Anubis

Collectibles are basically different female characters in the game using dildos.

Sound and Voice Acting 5/5 - Excellent. No complaints.

Recommended for people who have time and like Metroidvania games. You will be disappointed if you're looking for gameplay-linked h content though. If you're expecting a ROR type of game, look elsewhere.

An excellent side scrolling metroidvania hentai game. If you've played the Shantae series of games there is a lot similar here gameplay wise, especially in the sprite work. They've also lifted the flask system from dark souls in that you have a slow heal that recharges at each save point. Good graphics and well put together gameplay. Attacking, doding, and jumping is also quite deliberate. You cannot just cancel out of an attack to dodge so time your hits and dodges accordingly.

You'll want to come the landscae for item shops and quests. Quests reward you with a brief pixelart sex scene. Get enough of those and you get an upgrade for your character.

I don't know what to say here regarding the gameplay because, ultimately, an hentai game needs to have hentai (or whatever you want to call animated porn) and this game does have it... but it is largely unrelated to the game itself.
Maybe I didn't get far enough in the game but aside from some sprites in which bosses or enemies are naked and such, there isn't really much hentai that is related to the game.

For example, you can collect figurines of animated sex scenes by finding bonus points... but those have no effect beyond being a gallery.
You can die to the enemies for 2 sex scenes, 1 as a female and 1 as a male... but there isn't much to interact there.
Same with some quests, you retrieve the item you need and then a cutscene plays.
I'm rating this low because this feels like a gallery with extra steps: if you were playing Super Meat Boy and rewarding yourself with a porn picture everytime you cleared a level (or maybe 3-4 levels) then it would be similar at how this game does it.

I don't get why western devs usually do not integrate their hentai with the game itself, why not have a rape animation midfight?
Why not make the player as a female being able to harass males and as a male to harass females?
You already have an interact system, couldn't you add a little pixel variation in which the two pixelated characters interact?
The scenes themselves are pretty tame, vanilla, maybe you'd like them but at this point just look up the gallery: you don't gain anything from actually playing the game itself.

4/5, guess this makes me the odd one out?
I really enjoyed my time with Flipwitch, it's one of those games you get baited into clicking because of the nice banner art, feel a bit sad the actual game is pixel art before realizing the pixel art is actually pretty damn good. If you're a fan of "Shantae and the Pirates Curse" like I am then you'll really enjoy the art too, everything is just brimming with life and character from the gorgeous backgrounds to the one-off NPC's you'll only ever see once. Again, it 'is' pixel art which is off putting to a lot of people but I can assure you the sex scenes are a bit higher resolution.

Speaking of which they really... Aren't all that great. I guess this site has totally destroyed the eroticism in my brain because vanilla just does NOT do anything for me anymore, which is what 99% of the scenes in this are. Blowjobs, full frontal nudity, missionary, cowgirl, yawn. This is really designed for first time fetishists and H-game players, whether that's for better or for worse I can't say.

What really surprised me was just how insanely good the soundtrack and voice acting is. No clue if it was AI voices or music found online but regardless I really really liked them both, in fact I probably would've given a 3/5 if not for the music. And yes, you read that right before, there's voice acting but very slightly. Just girls moaning when you talk to them or give 'em the ole donkey punch. For once it's worth wearing headphones while playing.

The gameplay itself is okay. Let's get this out of the way; porn scenes only happen at the end of sidequests and whenever the player dies. This is NOT one of those games where you can fuck monsters during battle sadly. Anyway there's a large emphasis on platforming. Guess this 'is' a metroidvania but I found the platforming to be a tad too slippery at times, often falling off or through moving platforms because idk fuck me I guess. To "flip" the witch's gender you have to press F, but the movement keys are WASD space is jump. Trying to move right while jumping and flipping genders is a pain in the goddamn ass. Luckily there's keybinding for all that so no worries. Except when you gotta use abilities. This requires holding down right on the mouse and clicking left. A couple of these were no biggy but Goblin bomb especially barely ever functioned. I notice some people are talking smack about there being input lag but I never noticed it.

The absolute WORST thing about this game is.... Why?
Why did this need to be a porn game? Having scenes of any capacity can really stigmatize your game, but everything about this screams "underrated metroidvania gem". Infact I honestly believe it would've been so had there not have been any porn in this game. I know, an F95 user complaining about there being porn in a game, what a shocker. It just made me feel sad during the ghost boss; great music, pretty neat mechanics, awesome animations, and I can't show or tell anyone about this because there's giant flopping tits on screen.
Oh well, 4 out of 5 I guess. Probably more of a 3.7 though.

    [Review of Final on 11/19/2023]

The lower scoring reviews feel a bit too sensitive, although they have some good points.

Yeah, you move when you attack, and you can't touch enemies. It's really not so egregious as to be game breaking, though, and you can just take it into account when attacking.

I also don't feel the supposed "delay" that these players are experiencing with their inputs -- while movement probably needs a reduction in momentum to reduce the "floaty" feeling, the controls themselves feel plenty responsive to me. I did not feel that I was ever hit because of latency between inputs, but rather because I didn't pay attention.

The sprite work is actually pretty good, too, although the scenes themselves are a bit vanilla for my tastes. There's a lot of dildo animations, especially with the gacha animation unlocks, which I find boring. I also wish that the game over animations were enemy specific, but they seem to be area specific. Don't bother dying more than twice per area, once per gender, if you can help it. That even applies to bosses, which sucks.

The invisible text box glitch has occurred to me, which is annoying. I haven't been soft locked yet, but I trust the other reviews. Be aware that the game has bugs.

I'm also not a fan of how many items require a significant amount of money to purchase. The first item I grabbed after getting to Spirit City was the Fortune Cat to increase money drops, but you better buy that item quickly if you want for it to pay for itself; while it helps, it didn't feel like a huge game-changer.

The other problem is that power-ups are locked behind completing side-quests, and side-quests generally require costumes that cost the money you're after, and the side-quest characters are often in out-of-the-way locations... so, yeah, getting power-ups is a time consuming slog. It's a shame, too, because that's where a lot of the sex scenes are hidden. The developer clearly wants you to do them, but you'll suffer to get them done.

I know that it seems like I have a lot of complaints, but I actually think the game isn't half bad.

It clearly had a lot of thought put into some parts of it. It just feels as though the developer allowed themselves to think that their game needed to take a lot longer to play than it really should. It's a shame, since there's some genuinely fun bosses, nice graphics, cute characters, and a decent amount of effort put into certain parts of the level design.

It's not great, but it's good enough to give a chance.

Fan of sidescrolling Hentai-vania's? This'll be a good time waster for a few hours. This is all straight/lesbian content, which I am fine with.

The gameplay itself is simple: Explore, get new abilities, fight baddies and bosses, and do quests to fuck things! Meeting the characters is fun since most are voice acted, some in a surprising accent!
While the game is generally enjoyable for an avid side-scrolling fan, some may have difficulties with the slower response/moving forward with melee attacks. Most enemies take a few swipes to take down and leveling up doesn't make it much faster.
My biggest gripe is how most "quest" boil down to
    >Hey I need ____
    >Blank Outfit for sale at random ass location
    >Oh thank goodness, sex

Grinding gold isn't my biggest joy in Hentai-vania's and there seems to be an easy mode that alleviates that.
As for the sex scenes themselves, they are fine, but usually doesn't feel like a big enough reward for completing a quests.Almost all are blowjob/titjob. Also, no Boss Fucking? Kinda lame.
As of 1.0, a few bugs and soft-locks have made the game a bit unsteady, so I'd recommend waiting for a few updates before playing.
Overall: Average. Average art, average puzzles, average game.

i had this game on my steam wishlist for 3-4 years and im really disappointed.

as another reviewer already pointed out, the controlls are just unappectably delayed.
and yes the worst part is, attacking moves you forward which means WHILE ATTACKING you will "walk" into enemies and thus take damage.
magic attacks (only got 2 so far) are slow and boring

the sex scenes, which i barely saw any yet, are nothing special at all.
the map is kinda boring to explore and limited, metroidvanias usually give you at least a bit of freedom.
also call it nitpicking but theres yellow blocks that make you bounce up and they are just... yellow blocks. they are ugly and boring, they look like an early beta test block.

a billion sidequests get thrown your away once you reach the city (which happens in like 15min id say)

enemies respawn whenever you exit a screen (which happens often and often into empty rooms aka you gotta turn back)
theres no exp system, all you get is gold which you can buy skins with which you need for certain quests... so killing enemies is not meant to give you a nice outfit, its meant to extend the grind for more sidequests.

    extra weapons? nope.

puzzles for idiots "hey a pink block means go female, a blue one means go male" theres also absolutely 0 reason for you to switch genders other than certain quest dialogues and those blocks.
they could have made it so you can fuck defeated enemies + make it different animations for each gender!!

its a buggy mess aswell. ive somehow softlocked a handful of times and somehow also managed to make textboxes invincible, both times having to restart to "fix" the game again.
one time i literally flipped genders while talking to someone and somehow that softlocked me. couldnt move anymore.

overall, idk just a failure of a game. boring to play, barely any sex and its about as well animated as your average pixel art game on here, 3-4 years for this? im disappointed, i really am.

the only thing saving it is the graphics they are gorgeous

as always, drop me a like if you want and i personally recommend avoiding this game. it looks nice, but it doesnt play nice at all

The game has a nice premise and graphics. But it was all ruined for me because of poor controls. Response time on your dodge roll is super slow, which makes you get way more hits than you should get. Turning around is somewhat slow too, so you might get a hit just because character is too slow.
The last straw for me was automatic move forward while performing attack. It just makes you get hit because you are moved into enemy. It was somewhat tolerable with regular enemies, but became unbearable during boss battle - you attack and get hit because of that, not because you are actually hit.
