I agree that hunger system needs to be tweaked as food sources are too scarce and the meter fills up very fast. Maybe put a finger on the random map generator so that in your immediate area there is some heavy spawns of food.

NPC 'death' isn't a stable flag. If you kill a NPC by attacking with an axe they use the same 'knocked out' state. Which means if you leave the 'corpse' alone long enough they will wake up. If you are in the interact screen choosing between Defile and Butcher they can wake up. If you are defiling the corpse, the corpse can wake up and attack you.

If you butcher the NPC, it is converted immediately to meat items and the corpse disappears. Meat should probably provide more hunger than the 5% it currently does given how you have to butcher NPCs for it or multiple stacks of meat.

There needs to be a way to pickup crafted items that have been placed or they should break into components. Crafting bench takes 3 wood and breaks into nothing and cannot be picked up once placed.

Time dilation that occurs while sleeping on a leaf bed only ends when the player ends the sleep state and doesn't end if the player is forced out of the sleep state. The time speed up seems to impact how often 'ticks' occur as well meaning a single attack while sleeping will not only knock you out and destroy the bed, but will also compound the knockback and send you flying. Knockout state will also end at normal rate while time is still sped up meaning you technically are knocked out longer. You will then wake up and act awake while still 'sleeping' with sped up time meaning hunger will quickly kill you.
Now those are some insane bugs.
Violate Corpse -> Corpse Wakes up -> wtf. -> die.
100% fixing those first. I can add some material return system when you break the placed stations/building.
I'll also make the meat 15% and be able to cook it for a whopping 35%, I'll also make sure to add some sort of a check if you get attacked while sleeping. Thank you for telling me these!

The curse of the sandbox, crazy bugs.

Do you want some suggestions/ideas for how the player can gain positive reputation with NPCs, or is that in firm "Nah, I got it all planned out" territory? Because that feels like a perfect use of the new personality system when that's further along.

I do have ideas on many concepts, but that is not to say that I would not appreciate others sending/suggesting their ideas.
Go wild, if I like something I add it into the game simple as that.

The easiest solution would be an automatic wake up mechanic if an NPC gets close. The ye old "Cannot sleep there are enemies nearby" mechanic from minecraft is a good example of that. Prevent the player from entering sleep state if there is something in an area around them and wake up if someone enter the area ("You startle awake from sound nearby!"")

You can then expand on that later with friendly/neutral/hostile flags for NPCs if you want to sleep soundly around friends and maybe add penalties for being woken repeatedly to disincentivize putting beds in zones near hostiles. Problem for future you. :)

It's not very original, but I was thinking, at least for the wolves, it would be neat if there were omegas/tribe-less who wouldn't start off with as high negative rep with the player, It'd be neat to eventually form your own tribe full of outcasts from other species.
Another thought, which tied into the personality system, is that "freak" NPCs exist that actually like the fact the player is a sexy white @ symbol and gain reputation based off just seeing the player. Not quite sure what personality score that would tie into. Open-mindedness? Perversion?
Trading also seems like a good, friendly way of gaining positive reputation. Starting with something like dropping a food item nearby and leaving, then advancing to person-to-animalperson trades.

considering most of the non-visual novels type games are straight you must have very selective blinders on if you think no one else is making straight furry games
yeah kinda weird stance to take. like in general most porn is straight idk what they on

I think so, but this game says necrophilia, but I don't see it.
You can kill NPCs if you attack them with an axe and have the option to 'defile' the corpse. Which is just a reuse of the knocked out and Rape mechanics at the moment. It is a work in progress.

...oh...my sweet summer child. You must not get out much. LOL. Seriously though, there is some WEIRD stuff out there so straight is not even close to a majority let alone saying 'most porn'.

I'll see what I can do!

Those "furries" with just a tail and ears do not count.

Yeah, just to add to this, but if you use these filters combined with ONLY furry/scalie love interests, and a human MC, then it's only about 5-8 pages (I tried to get an exact count, but it's honestly kind of hard/tiring, since the MC's species isn't obvious from the screenshots sometimes.) Thankfully the amount of these games is slowing going up.

Still looking good so far now that i had some time to test it out. Glad to see the ascii items and glad to see the bigger starting health bar and regeneration compared to the initial run.

I've always been partial to hunger bars so take anything i say about them with a grain of salt, but definitely needs some tweaks there. The hunger bar fills fast and currently the food sources feel pretty useless. That could just be me getting unlucky with a rng range between 2 hunger a berry and like .5 hunger with a side of deadly poison. Might be better in the future if like, farming or more renewable methods show up but right now its pretty bad. collecting leaves for many beds and living with the slow hp drain seems the better option at the moment.

For NPC interactions I did notice over a couple of attempts that reaching that 20 affinity mark doesnt just make them not attack you, it seems to make them do absolutely nothing, not even sleep, forever. can still knock them out though. Left it on a second monitor on 10x speed and occasionally knocked them out and just nothing forever.

In addition, not sure if its intentional or not, but it seems like maybe 50% of the time the key to getting 20+ affinity is Ass squeezing. You find one that likes it you just keep squeezing. start at -97 affinity? not to worry. just keep squeezing til your dry, rinse, punch, repeat. If they like them they'll never get sick of a good ass squeeze. Never seen them like anything else nearly as much.

Hunger indeed needs either a full on rework or more souces of food around the place, I am working on it don't worry!

I am still not sure why that 20 affinity thing never works right, I have tested it with very different outcomes each time and due to the nature of the game and it's complex systems I think there is some code that is making sense only to itself that I need to either delete or rewrite.

And that ass thing is 100% a personality thing in canine race specifically, they have a biased love of anything related to ass handling.

Are you planning on keeping all of the species as tribals? It would be cool if there was a standout species that had some level of advanced civilization. Perhaps not Modern-Sci-Fi levels, but maybe Medieval era, enough that they have houses/castles/fortresses. It would be a cool goal for the player to either befriend or attempt to conquer them as a challenge.

After playing the update for a bit I can definitely say it's a little early in development to add the hunger mechanics. I think it would be better to rework hunger to decrease by about 15-20% per day and have actions like attacking or dodging not increase hunger faster. Also I love the idea to have a castle/fortress that you could potentially take over.

one thing i do want to say is i look forward to MC - NPC interactions and also save, load. i just feel like it would open up a lot more since i don't need to keep the game open constantly to keep a world going. and also now with hunger i'd say if i have to go do something for a while then i'm just going to die of starvation. i do like the game tho, it's interesting and i look forward.
