I got to say, after playing the new demo, I am impressed. Zell's experience since re-attacking this project really shines. Also new engine seems a lot better in general. The previous version was already good imo. This is looking even better and I look forward to what is in store.

I hope that the dev add more monster girls that are akin to MGQ or Shrift since those 2 imo honestly fits Monster girls namesake more than any other 80% human + 20% monsters combination

Can't really say if that's going to be the case. The dev has actually was kinda "forced" to not add those more hybrid types of monter girls in Succubus Affection because it was a collab with other dev that doesn't like them, same happened to other project which resulted in they making a new one by themselves that fits their tastes.
So they will feel temped to add more hybrids (part human/part animal for example) than the humanoid monster girls.
Alrighty then, hope it goes the hybrid route in the future, I know that the Dev is redrawing but I'm fine with waiting.
edit: My favourite from the previous demo builds are the centaur girl in hell and the centipede girl

I'm a little confused on how to play the game, because in the past I've been able to install and directly play the game, but now, with more recent builds, I keep getting this error, and the installation tab mentions nothing about this. Is there some other post in this thread with this error and the means to fix it?

The guide you're talking about must be of the A and B versions of the game. The one you're playing right now is the R (remake) version. It is currently a demo, so there isn't much to explore right now.
The A and B versions are a lot more complete, and have comprehensive guides to them. The R version is just not developed enough for there to be a guide to it like the A and B versions.

In the original post you can find the "Old builds" section, versions A and B links are there.
so I downloaded this game, heard decent stuff about it, but none of the controls work. I assume its cause I got the remake version but there is no way to capture, also takes forever to kill things, possibly because thats how they made it, but yeah, controls dont make sense, used keyboard, and controller, just not worth it. if you cie then the only way to start over is just force close then reopen it. too much of a hassle. bleh. animations and stuff looked food but man I couldnt get it to be very playable at all.

Starting over for a reason (the reason Is that the engine used reached its limitations, that's why the original is divided in 2 parts). But new stuff and overhaul changes are also being added along the way and will keep coming that weren't available in the original (the new stuff it's not only in the form of QoL improvements or new abilities but also with new monster girls and areas).
i mean the original FOBS was made all the way back in 2015 its nearly a decade old game, besides the points stated above zell's art has drastically improved my guess is he wanted to go back and remake one of his oldest games and its also the thing that really made him popular ig
f5 restarts the game in event of a blackscreen on death.
right now all the keys are in developer mode, so pretty much every ability has it's own key "for beta testing". movement, attack, block, dash and masturbate are now included. Dash doesn't do well with certain directionals though (down and up mostly, and also don't try to dash in the opposite direction from where you are facing).
